  • or u can just buy one with a whole already. :D

  • AWESOME!

  • just looked at the coments on this vid for the first time in over 2 years. who would have known so many people would hate on a video when im trying to help them...oh well, ya know whats great with that haterade?...if you lick my butthole...

  • An accident waiting to happen, get the correct tool for the job you Nerds !!!

  • Any tips on the placement of the porthole? Or does it matter?

  • @quorratheband I have one simple tip. DONT cut the center out. haha

  • @quorratheband nah doesnt matter too much as long as its not along the edge, its mostly for sound and putting a mic inside of your kick. mine are typically in the lower right 1/4 of the head

  • Nice job - dont listen to those know it all haters out there. If they were such experts why would they be watching how-to videos?? I am going to try this method - maybe starting with a slightly smaller hole just in case. Thanks for the video!

  • Dam " that is one of the oldest 'Trick in the book's .........Real old trick to do ..Watch out Yall .YOu could or might just damage a high dollar head , That you can't take back to the Fucking store .LOL ....Learn how to do it the right way

  • lol you guys are retarded, how did that fail? that was perfect. nice job man :D

  • hahaha i have the exact same stove

  • hey could you cut a hole too?

  • When you use the hot can on a white head, will it leave a brown or dark burn mark on the head?

  • 1:16 ....haha in the begenning you said (how to make a port hole "without" cutting with a knife ) haha funny

  • im new to drumming what does a porthole do for your bass drum

  • @csvictory12 it will give u more "thud" sound!!! just like if u stuck some pillows or somethin.. but more natural.. im gonna do it cause i dont like that bouncing sound of mine!!! altough.. i will let u put ur mic inside the drum thats good if ur recordin or somethin like that!

  • orale, thats very helpful thanx.

USE A CD ALSO, DRAW AROUND IT W/ MARKER AND CUT WITH A VERY SHARP KNIFE/BLADE/ARROW HEAD..LOL

  • i got like a ring from remo today, you put it on the drumhead and cut the hole, but what would be the best sort of knife to use, as i obviously can't use a stove in my repetition room:p

  • good lighting

  • Does anybody know what effect it would have on a tom drum if you cut a smaller hole into the resonant head?

  • youll loose alot of resonnance, so it would sound quite dead. not speaking out of experience though...

  • Excelente..... \,,/. (0O) .\,,/

  • for a secong there u sound like kenny aronoff lol

  • Badass

  • how do you protect it from tareing after u make the hole?

  • u get a fine sand paper and just go around the edges a few times

  • Wow... I never though of doing it like that. That's pretty genious

  • Fail !

Can wasn't hot enough. You didn't "twist' it like you said You don't attempt this the get 1:10

if you walk the can too far, it will cool.

  • wow you say "fail" cool 13 year old there. anyway yes we do twist it "slightly" like we say, which is basically a wiggle.

  • @musicmantrev hahahaha

  • Lol how did he fail when it came out perfect? your comment fails :P

  • It still came out perfect :P

  • Thanks guy , i can buy a Pearl Vision !!!

  • the only prob with sandpaper smoothing, is with a smooth edge, its more likely to tear.

  • thats why u put electrical tape on the edges

  • its all preferences thanks for the feedback tho.

  • wow , perfect ...

Please , can you help me xD i'm french , and i want to buy a complete drum set at 900- 1000 euros ( 1200 $).

can you help me for choose please ? ...

  • well if u save like 400-600 more u could get a truth drum set..

  • get a mapex kit

  • get a grestch catalina maple i got mine with cymbals for around that much

  • gor for a basic pearl set, or tama

anything else is too big for a starter drummer. then just work your way up with buying cymbals skins mardware etc.

  • that was dumb, the hot can cud of set the cardboard on fire

  • I have that same stove! Haha.

  • yes it does change sound a little bit. the bass drum will have less ring to it, a little more thud to it and less over tones. if your going to use a porthole i would also recomend putting a pillow in the bass drum, not like a full size one although those do work but like a pillow you would put on the corner of a couch. that will also eliminate overtones and add more of a thud.

  • hey good job ive been wanting 2 do this im gonna give this a try 2morrow and i never thought of sanding it down thnxs 4 the tip

  • no problem, any other tips you need i can make videos for.

  • o cool but wht y would u put the porthole in?

  • so you can mic your bass drum.

  • o k

  • uhhhmmm good call?
