just looked at the coments on this vid for the first time in over 2 years. who would have known so many people would hate on a video when im trying to help them...oh well, ya know whats great with that haterade?...if you lick my butthole...
@quorratheband nah doesnt matter too much as long as its not along the edge, its mostly for sound and putting a mic inside of your kick. mine are typically in the lower right 1/4 of the head
Nice job - dont listen to those know it all haters out there. If they were such experts why would they be watching how-to videos?? I am going to try this method - maybe starting with a slightly smaller hole just in case. Thanks for the video!
Dam " that is one of the oldest 'Trick in the book's .........Real old trick to do ..Watch out Yall .YOu could or might just damage a high dollar head , That you can't take back to the Fucking store .LOL ....Learn how to do it the right way
@csvictory12 it will give u more "thud" sound!!! just like if u stuck some pillows or somethin.. but more natural.. im gonna do it cause i dont like that bouncing sound of mine!!! altough.. i will let u put ur mic inside the drum thats good if ur recordin or somethin like that!
i got like a ring from remo today, you put it on the drumhead and cut the hole, but what would be the best sort of knife to use, as i obviously can't use a stove in my repetition room:p
yes it does change sound a little bit. the bass drum will have less ring to it, a little more thud to it and less over tones. if your going to use a porthole i would also recomend putting a pillow in the bass drum, not like a full size one although those do work but like a pillow you would put on the corner of a couch. that will also eliminate overtones and add more of a thud.
or u can just buy one with a whole already. :D

Does anybody know what effect it would have on a tom drum if you cut a smaller hole into the resonant head?
deathnerd1994 2 years ago
youll loose alot of resonnance, so it would sound quite dead. not speaking out of experience though...

This comment has received too many negative votes show
It didn't burn through, he had to cut it (@ 1:15), which isn't the point of this. Can wasn't hot enough.
So it did not come out perfect, open your eyes, pay attention.
generatrix999 2 years ago
It still came out perfect :P

mbdrummer123 2 years ago
gor for a basic pearl set, or tama
anything else is too big for a starter drummer. then just work your way up with buying cymbals skins mardware etc.
