He build customs subwoofers(speaker) boxes and designs so he knows how to get the measurements to anything that he basically builds... I stood there watching him build it and I can tell you I don't know what the hell he was doing hahaha. I just know he did some math on some paper and got out one of his measuring tools and went straight to a big scary saw table and starting cutting.
