Jr. would have a hard time with his Dad is his prime. Sr. is very tall, and has a long reach, and the faster hands. I think he'd give Jr. trouble early on, but eventually Jr. would ignore his weak punches and land crisper shots. Jr. has much better balance, and relaxes much better in the ring.
Floyd Jr fights very similar to his dad because his dad taught him how to fight. Although there are some differences. Floyd Sr doesn't put both hands up on Defense enough, he uses the Philly Shell a little too much leaving his face open for hits. They both use their long arms to push off but Floyd Jr likes to use his forearm to push off and punch.

I respect Floyd Mayweather Sr because he fought the best fighters back in his day... He's not a bad fighter because he lost, Sugar Ray Lenard is a legend and Floyd Sr fought his heart out and he also is a great fighter in my opinion... I can't compare Floyd Sr to Jr because they fight totally different! The only thing they share is lack of punching power but Floyd Sr threw great combination's, I sure to do miss this era in boxing history!

When I first saw this fight it seemed like Mayweather was competitive for the first 2/3's of every round and then Leonard would come on in the last 1/3 of the round and look like he was going to stop Floyd Sr. Give Mayweather his due, he took a beating and hung in there with a near prime-time Leonard until the 10th round.

@tdizzle100 Sr is much faster, and takes a much better shot than Jr. Jr. has better balance. Defense is hard to say, since Jr. won't fight anyone, and nearly got knocked out by Mosley. He'd never take Leonard's combinations like Daddy. If he fought someone like Leonard he'd get hit, and often, just like Daddy. Would he last 10 rounds? I doubt it.

@CheGuevaraNY Their styles are different, but Daddy definitely has faster hands. You probably listen to the media too much and don't really look for yourself. It happens.
Jr. would have a hard time with his Dad is his prime. Sr. is very tall, and has a long reach, and the faster hands. I think he'd give Jr. trouble early on, but eventually Jr. would ignore his weak punches and land crisper shots. Jr. has much better balance, and relaxes much better in the ring.

Floyd Jr fights very similar to his dad because his dad taught him how to fight. Although there are some differences. Floyd Jr obviously fights a lot smarter than his dad, he's undefeated for a reason. Floyd Jr's stance is a lot stronger and wider than his dad. Floyd Sr doesn't put both hands up on Defense enough, he uses the Philly Shell a little too much leaving his face open for hits. They both use their long arms to push off but Floyd Jr likes to use his forearm to push off and punch.

Sugar was a COMPLETE fighter witha killer instinct. He coudl do it all. Floyd Sr had much more courage than his son does. Can you imagine if Floyd Jr was faced with the challenge of fighting a prime Sugar Ray Leonard??? He would come up with every excuse he could think of to get out of that fight, then he would probably get the next plane out of the country.

Kind of ignorant for Cosell to refer to the crowd as "not immensely knowledgeable". If you heard his bad commentary on Ali-Norton II, how he criticized Ali and said he was no longer great JUST because the fight went the distance, truthfully not knowing much about the science/ styles clashes that come with boxing match-ups, you would agree maybe he needed to look in the mirror about lack of knowledge.
