  • Actually the war was fought over slavery. But beyond this reason stood the main reason of all the wars ever fought: POWER. Lincoln neede to sweep slavery away to let the US Capitalism; Davis wanted to maintain slavery as the "corner - stone" of the south economy to keep his class (the aristocracts"!) in control. I think it´s time for the south to a full face-off with its own mistakes (e.g slavery) and the north to share the guilt of slavery.

  • @expertron more like states rights actually

  • @expertron

Actually, it was more complex than that. Missouri, Kentucky, Maryland and Delaware allowed to join the union side as slave states and no effort was made to abolish slavery there until after the war.

The Emancipation Proclamation was also limited. It did not free slaves in pro union states, slaves owned by federal officers, or slaves anywhere if the owner was willing to take a loyalty oath to the union.

  • I was there! Im in the union

  • I do reenacting. It's fun. After a day of reenacting, we stopped at Ingles to get some food(we weren't campin out. one of the members had a broke leg) and we were all still in our confederate uniforms. My friend Ledfoot walks in the front doors and yells "THE SOUTH WILL RISE AGAIN!!"

  • I understand that you cheer for your home-party, but come on... If i understand it right, and please correct me if im wrong, but these guys fought for legalisation of slavery... How can you cheer for that, in this time.. Wouldn't it be the same, if I here in Holland, dressed up as a Nazi soldier and reenacted the holocaust? I don't want to offend anyone, and if i did im sorry... but this strikes me as "a little strange"

  • @Loupland Slavery was legal. They were fighting to protect the institution of slavery among other related issues.

  • whoooooo...

get ya some rebs!!! HURRAH FOR THE CONFEDERACY

  • There is a great new book out titled: GETTYSBURG… OTHER TIMES

It features Sharpsburg in an accurate but most different way than before.

It is a great page-turning read and full of intrigue and revelation.

You can get your copy on Amazon or see my YouTube site (GETTYSBURGbook)

  • Marching to ol dan tucker hooray boys!

  • WOOOOOOOOO GO SOUTH!

  • God Bless the Confederacy!!!

  • DEO VINDICE!

  • This is very insulting to the United States of this evil regime. If the Southerns wants to bring CSA again, bring it on.

    -Blue coat forever.

  • Deo Vindice!

  • The musicians did a very good job, very cool, and adds to the realistic feel and authenticity of an army marching in those days.

  • That was awesome .. wish there was more of it :)

  • Awesome just awesome! "Start all them bugles playin listen to the drums again, Ten Thousand men a'marchin the south shall rise again!"

  • God bless the South!

  • @PompousFlea

Why would God bless the South? DO YOU THINK GOD WAS HAPPY THAT THE C.S.A. HAVE AFRICAN AMERICANS & CHILDREN AS THEIR SLAVES? IT WAS A SIN & THANK GOD THAT GOD HELP THE U.S.A. TO BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF THIS EVIL REGIME.

NEXT, THE REPUBLICANS FROM THE SOUTHERN STATES!!!

  • @royaladam If you think the Civil War was fought over slavery, you are sorely misinformed or willfully ignorant. Read Abraham Lincoln's (presumably your hero) own words.

  • @royaladam

"I will say then that I am not, nor ever have been in favor of bringing about in anyway the social and political equality of the white and black races ... There must be the position of superior and inferior, and I as much as any other man am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race."

    - Abraham Lincoln

No go find out what the Civil War was actually fought over.

  • @PompousFlea

    Oh...my...GOD!!!

  • @royaladam oh hush liberal yankee

  • I do like seeing the Confederates march . I like marching with them even better . Southern Pride . Heritage Not Hate .

  • So is your heritage . The United States of America had slaves well before the Confederacy was ever thought up . Even after the Civil War was over five northern states still had slavery .

  • That wasn't even what the war was about. Besides, General Grant(Your greatest general) owned slaves and didn't release them until he was MADE. Robert E. Lee had slaves that liked him, and he released them before the war. Your heritage is full of ignorant yankees who aren't educated enough to see what the war was really over.

  • You can tear down a State, but you will never tear down the Southern State of Mind! God Love you Boys! Long Live the South!

  • ahhhhh farb invason

  • Always glad to see reenactors on the left coast! Deo Vindice

  • it looks like a farb invasion of the north

  • Was that the Army of Northern Virginia after 2nd Manssas? XD There was like 25 guys :(

  • Always enjoy seeing Confederates on the march! Wish they had fought harder and been victorious. God, how I wish it. Thanks for sharing.
