Another thing I found is that the Power Mac G5 with dual 2 core PPC 64 bit CPUs and 6 GB ram outperforms a current quad core i5 computer. I was running some computer vision benchmarks and the old power mac outperformed a Linux based i5 quad core machine. It was a beast when it first came out.

I still have my family's 1994 Power Macintosh (66 MHz and 24MB ram woot!) still siting around and it still works. We could only ever put up to Mac OS 8 on it, but it still runs well. Its really just a sentimental thing to have, and its what I learned how to use a computer on. Yeah - I learned how to use a computer on a Mac.
