Ours is white apart from one black ear and eye. The other eye is a little bit pink because she's albino (so the vet says, the dog is normal looking other than the eye) but she is very shy and rarely interacts with other dogs or barks.
She's a very loving dog, though. If she doesn't see one of the family for a couple of days she'll go nuts when she sees them again and try to lick all over their face.

I am planning on getting a short hair puppy what are some things I should watch out for with this breed. I once saw a Jack Russel almost kill a big German shep. it went underneath its leggs and got him by the neck.I thing these litle dogs are amazing.
@xpectz I'd say at least a few hours a day, they have ALOT of energy. It's unbelievable, if you have a big yard where he/she can go out and play then you should be fine.
@xpectz depends on the dog..mine is just over a year old and requires *at least* 90 minutes of solid running (ball chasing, playing with other dogs etc) a day - some I've seen seem quite happy to amble along.
You won't know which type you are getting until they are few months old - so plan for the crazy type - they can be hard work, but well worth the effort
Jack Russells are probably the toughest small breed of dog hands down i dropped my heavy ass vcr right on my jack russells paw by accident and he didnt make a sound there beast mode not to mention there tireless
I had a jack named Pokey, he was the alpha of the litter and was about twice as big as your average jack...fantastic dog, protective, smart, gluttonous, loving..got diabetes when he was 11 and when he went blind we had to put him down :(

I do luv jack russells, but they never stop. i mean i took my jack russell out for 2 hours and walked 7 miles and when i got home, within 2 hours she was ready for more.
@MaceMn I'm almost sure we got my Jack (Alexei) from a puppy mill, but had no idea at the time. He was in BAD shape, and I'll never forget the guy saying, as he handed us this tiny, emaciated pup, "If he dies within a week you can get your money back." He's going on 7 now, and I'm glad we rescued him from that horrible man, but I can't bear to think what could have happened to his litter mates. Puppy mills should be outlawed EVERYWHERE.
Little scrappers defo. They do their own thing in their own time. Ankle biters! Yappers! Mind readers! But wow, so many people love them. So they can't be too bad.
Awwww <3 I had a Jack Russel, Skip... He died December 7th 2009 :'( He was only 7 years old... He died from a heart attack. I still love and miss the little rascal<3
@ImmortalNyx Aww. So sad to hear that! He's in a good place now :) My Bichon Frise, Mini, had to be put down due to old age 1 day before my 30th birthday, in 2005. I still miss her so much. Animals are wonderful.
Guys i have a very important question about my jack russel terrier. I have 2 dogs Sargent wich is a male jack russel terrier and tazz wich is a male minnature pincher. Both dogs have grown up together. They play around and stuff but then sometimes they get into horrible fights that they will kill each other. My dog sargent is probly the biggest jack russell terrier but he is very mean at times. Can any one help me stop the fighting and the biteing?
@TheMarudin we have had a similar situation and i do not think you will stop the scrapping ,when they get excited they will scrap,not safe to leave the two togeather,sorry but you might have to rehome one with a friend.
I think that they can be used as an alternative energy source, such as nuclear power stations to replace them, a couple of hundred jack russell will be enough to generate the same power as a small nuclear power station.

These dogs are freaks when it comes to brain power. They have the ability to solve problems without being trained to. They have a sense of humor and I swear they understand English way past simple one syllable commands. I have an eight year jack russell that does every command in English as well as Spanish. They are very quirky, mine likes to sit in an empty bath tub by herself or take all her toys and hide under the computer desk for hours. Never a dull moment and they love you forever!
Our 1st JRT was with us for 13 yrs, Maggie was an absolute delight and ruled the roost, including our 115 lb Blue Doberman, Max. They are waiting for us at the rainbow bridge. We now have Mega Byte, 15, a 'foundling' and my dear shadow and Phoebe, 5, our 3rd but 1st JRT [TERRORIST!]--a most vigilant watch dog during the day and the sweetest cuddle companion at night. I love the spirit as well as the heart of these little dogs and will never be without one or more as they are so good for my soul.
Also these "go to ground tunnels" which are being shown by the North American breeders are good ideas, I pretty tempted to make one myself. You have to be careful not to train your dog to purposely run down rabbit holes, as we had a friend whos dog accidentally got stuck in a rabbit hole and was never found again. Rabbit holes can be very long, deep and often lead to items like barb wire fencing or rabbit traps that cannot be seen by the human eye.

My boyfriend and I are thinking to buy a JRT, we live in an apartment and we are fully awared that this dog is quite hyper so it needs a LONG time dedicated to exercise, so I would really appreciate if one of you guys could tell me if its better to have JR girl or a boy? and if it's a good idea to have one (we know that it must take VERY LONG walks and a propper training) or is it very hard to have a JRT?.. they look SO cute but since they are so hyper and TOO smart i feel kinda intimidated =P
@andreaflorz This breed in the video is a Jack Russel "Parsons" terrier. We have one pedigree bitch and she is full of joy and love for us humans. She prefers relaxing in the sun, in a warm blanket, playing with Squeek (the squeeky toy) to running around the city, or around loud busy places. They prefer quite areas, but are a breed of terriers and still retain that hunting instinct, so love it when we take her out on the country fields chasing rabbits, they are resiliant and need exercise.
@rezpatriot Actually some of the breeds were parsons, some werent 1:01 is a Parsons, we also have a smooth coat Jack Russel and both dogs are compatable and friends (even soul mates) . Both our dogs are bitches and its up to the owner and your environment on whether you want a bitch or a dog
They jump higher, run faster, have more energy, and burrow faster than just about any dog. And they live for so long! My Jack is turning 14 this March and she still runs and jumps when she goes for walks.
I have my second jack now, she's 11 named "wiggles" and the name sure does fit. These are the most loyal, loving dogs and ever so smart (at times too smart LOL). It's a dog I would not reccomend for a first time dog owner but myself personally, I couldn't imagine any other dog in my house.
I have an 8 yr old named "Jack" He is a great hunter, we are invited to mouse around several barns, he rodent hunts and flushes bird. But he is also dearly loved at the local nursing home where he's gone wkly since he was a pup..He makes everyone smile.He will cuddle on a lap or bed. They throw him a party on his BD. & he has been personally invited to attend several memorial services. He is still very, very lively and I wrk him daily. all that to say I love this breed but I put the wrk in too

Ive got a jack russell called Fizz, shes quite old but shes still really springy and active. She loves running and digging and corn on the cob lol. But she hates people touching her feet and her tail haha :D
my jack russell climbs trees!! came home one day to find him strolling on top of my 8' fence 0_0... Extremely smart and very active dog. The most hyper dog I've ever owned. NOT all of them sleep all day like TheStocktonator's. But i agree, one of the best dogs <3
if theres a whole in a fence my jack russell will shore to go though it. my next door nahbour has got a 17 year old jack russell and she still runs around the garden.
My dog is 7yrs. old-love her=plan on getting more very soon, get and save them from shelters, a lot of Jack Russell Rescue groups do this and give them home until they can find a home-

And Jack Russell's are easy to train if you train them as a puppy, my dog has learnt things from me without me even noticing it, like when I tell her I can't reach her playing ball (She puts it closer to me).
i have a jack russell, a staffie and we used to have a alsatian cross huskey, my little jack is the most definately the boss of out house and he has my staffie running scared. hes not vicious but he can defo stand his ground he is absolutely gorge!!!!
I had a jack russell female named Bumpkin. She was the coolest dog ever; so full of life and hilarious to watch. Very stubborn and strong-willed though. I miss her a lot. I had to get rid of her when she was 4. It broke my heart but I had no choice. After I had my son, she became very aggressive and bit a neighborhood child, and after putting her in rabies quarantine, we had to foreclose on our home and move where they didn't allow dogs. I plan on getting another one some day though.
I've had two russells now. They are stubborn little guys but I LOVE the breed!!!! Pokey had to be put down at 15 because her leg wouldn't work anymore. Jessie is my resucue purebred Russell. She's the best!! I love this breed!!!!
@goatmilk222 No i'm not talking about every single jack rustle terrier in the world.I'm talking back from my experience.In my opinion their wild and mean and their hunting dogs.My dog killed a poor innocent baby bunny when I was little and had him.He was to violent and whenever he saw me he acted as if he didn't remember me and would yell eventually we had to let him go and take him to the pound.

These dogs are freaks when it comes to brain power. They have the ability to solve problems without being trained to. They have a sense of humor and I swear they understand English way past simple one syllable commands. I have an eight year jack russell that does every command in English as well as Spanish. They are very quirky, mine likes to sit in an empty bath tub by herself or take all her toys and hide under the computer desk for hours. Never a dull moment and they love you forever!

Our 1st JRT was with us for 13 yrs, Maggie was an absolute delight and ruled the roost, including our 115 lb Blue Doberman, Max. They are waiting for us at the rainbow bridge. We now have Mega Byte, 15, a 'foundling' and my dear shadow and Phoebe, 5, our 3rd but 1st JRT [TERRORIST!]--a most vigilant watch dog during the day and the sweetest cuddle companion at night. I love the spirit as well as the heart of these little dogs and will never be without one or more as they are so good for my soul.

Also these "go to ground tunnels" which are being shown by the North American breeders are good ideas, I pretty tempted to make one myself. You have to be careful not to train your dog to purposely run down rabbit holes, as we had a friend whos dog accidentally got stuck in a rabbit hole and was never found again. Rabbit holes can be very long, deep and often lead to items like barb wire fencing or rabbit traps that cannot be seen by the human eye.

the answer is it is a good idea to have a jack russell if you have a big enogh garden and you should have a boy if youve got a big garden but if you have and medium garden get a girl oh and it isnt hard to keep a jack russell all you need to do is make sure youve got a big enogh garden,give it lot of atentoin, dont leave it too long . remember that they will follow their master evry where and if it bites it wont dare to bite its master i hoped that helped andreaflorz .

My boyfriend and I are thinking to buy a JRT, we live in an apartment and we are fully awared that this dog is quite hyper so it needs a LONG time dedicated to exercise, so I would really appreciate if one of you guys could tell me if its better to have JR girl or a boy? and if it's a good idea to have one (we know that it must take VERY LONG walks and a propper training) or is it very hard to have a JRT?.. they look SO cute but since they are so hyper and TOO smart i feel kinda intimidated =P

@andreaflorz This breed in the video is a Jack Russel "Parsons" terrier. We have one pedigree bitch and she is full of joy and love for us humans. She prefers relaxing in the sun, in a warm blanket, playing with Squeek (the squeeky toy) to running around the city, or around loud busy places. They prefer quite areas, but are a breed of terriers and still retain that hunting instinct, so love it when we take her out on the country fields chasing rabbits, they are resiliant and need exercise.

@rezpatriot Actually some of the breeds were parsons, some werent 1:01 is a Parsons, we also have a smooth coat Jack Russel and both dogs are compatable and friends (even soul mates) . Both our dogs are bitches and its up to the owner and your environment on whether you want a bitch or a dog

They jump higher, run faster, have more energy, and burrow faster than just about any dog. And they live for so long! My Jack is turning 14 this March and she still runs and jumps when she goes for walks.

I have my second jack now, she's 11 named "wiggles" and the name sure does fit. These are the most loyal, loving dogs and ever so smart (at times too smart LOL). It's a dog I would not reccomend for a first time dog owner but myself personally, I couldn't imagine any other dog in my house.

I have an 8 yr old named "Jack" He is a great hunter, we are invited to mouse around several barns, he rodent hunts and flushes bird. But he is also dearly loved at the local nursing home where he's gone wkly since he was a pup..He makes everyone smile.He will cuddle on a lap or bed. They throw him a party on his BD. & he has been personally invited to attend several memorial services. He is still very, very lively and I wrk him daily. all that to say I love this breed but I put the wrk in too

Ive got a jack russell called Fizz, shes quite old but shes still really springy and active. She loves running and digging and corn on the cob lol. But she hates people touching her feet and her tail haha :D

My dog is 7yrs. old-love her=plan on getting more very soon, get and save them from shelters, a lot of Jack Russell Rescue groups do this and give them home until they can find a home-

And Jack Russell's are easy to train if you train them as a puppy, my dog has learnt things from me without me even noticing it, like when I tell her I can't reach her playing ball (She puts it closer to me).

I had a jack russell female named Bumpkin. She was the coolest dog ever; so full of life and hilarious to watch. Very stubborn and strong-willed though. I miss her a lot. I had to get rid of her when she was 4. It broke my heart but I had no choice. After I had my son, she became very aggressive and bit a neighborhood child, and after putting her in rabies quarantine, we had to foreclose on our home and move where they didn't allow dogs. I plan on getting another one some day though.

I've had two russells now. They are stubborn little guys but I LOVE the breed!!!! Pokey had to be put down at 15 because her leg wouldn't work anymore. Jessie is my resucue purebred Russell. She's the best!! I love this breed!!!!

@goatmilk222 No i'm not talking about every single jack rustle terrier in the world.I'm talking back from my experience.In my opinion their wild and mean and their hunting dogs.My dog killed a poor innocent baby bunny when I was little and had him.He was to violent and whenever he saw me he acted as if he didn't remember me and would yell eventually we had to let him go and take him to the pound.
