13 inches is a nice perch...but it's far from uncommon...You wouldn't believe it but my dad caught a perch last year that was 15 and half inches and weighed over 2 pounds...we took it out of the freezer last week and it has shrunk to about 12 inches...he didn't even take any pictures of it...my advice to you all is this: TAKE YOUR MONSTER JUMBO TO A TAXIDERMIST WITHIN THE FIRST MONTH OF CATCHING IT OR LESS....

You guys should smoke those tullibees. They are absolutely delicious. They are the same thing as a cisco. One of the better smoked fish along with whitefish in my opinion. Nice mess of perch too.

Previous posts were right, yellow perch are very prolific. North America is NOT Europe. I was fishing in Sweden and they were allowing commercial netting in the smaller lakes. No wonder the fishing wasn't as good as it is in Canada or the USA.

same here, thats a good breeder, i fish in a bracket system, the state of michigan does not do it, but i heard minnesota does and it is how i fish, since the subject here is perch my limit is 7" to 10" on my lakes, but this will change everywhere, those smaller than 7" do not have big filets, let them grow a year or two and the filet doubles in size, those bigger than 10" are good at breeding new stock, i know a lot of guys that practice this notion in fishing
