  • What a beautiful clip. I love both Sankara and Buddha equally, with all my heart.

  • There are many loopholes in this video

    1) Sankara says to chandala to move, even after being so "illuminated"

    2) Shakara says he is shiva and the four dogs are vedas. Now here is my question, how come vedas becane four? isnt veda only one book, before vedavyasa divided into four?

Guys please remember veda is ONE BOOK. It was divided into FOUR DIVISION's to understand the vedas better, but that doesnt mean vedas are four in number.

  • 1) There are levels of being illuminated as mentioned both in Gita and various upanishads.

2)yes the four dogs means 4 basic devisions as decided by Vyas and other sheers

  • Yes...you are absolutely right. I never thought in this way before.

  • Veda as we know it is divided first into four. Then within the four it's divided into shakhas e.g. Rig veda - Ashwalayana & Shakalya, Sama veda had 1000's of shakhas out of which only three remain Ranyanyan, Jaimini & Kauthuma etc. Each shakha then is divided into four - Samhita, Brahmana, Aranyaka & Upanishads.

  • all are wrong.

The Vedas are infinite. We only know as much to compile the 4 books. Bharadwaja commenced with severe penance to receive the knowledge of what we know today as the 4 Vedas. There is still more we know not. It will take one man 16 life times to understand the knowledge of what we have now... it will take infinity to understand all the knowledge which we do not have.

The Vedas are our building blocks.

  • Sankara is perceiving the vedas as four, so he attaches the symbolism of four..

  • Your perception is incorrect

    1. Since he is illuminated he bows down to Chandala realizing the truth of life.

    2. He refers to Rig Veda, Sama Veda, Yajur Veda and Atharva Veda here, not to be confused to number of books or the divisions

Rather than being a critic try to understand the mesg that is propagated in this sequence.

Adi Shankara broke the practice of bowing down and touching feet of Chandala (untouchable) ,also showed that knowledge is not restricted to caste, race created by humans

  • Just found it this minute! Thanks again! :)

  • Coool. Enjoy!

  • Thank you! I tried downloading from torrent but did'nt seem to work. Some parts of this movie brings tears to my eyes. They are so beautiful.

  • It truly does.

  • I have been trying desperately to find this movie without much success. Does anybody know where I can get hold of it?

  • I downloaded it from Torrents.

I tried uploading this movie to P2P file sharing portal but couldnt do it due to size constraints. If someone can let me know a site that allows me to upload large sized files, I will be glad to upload the entire movie.

  • Adi Shankara is responsible to protecting Vedika Dharma from external influence. He created an revolution 2000 yrs. All glories to Adi Sankara Bhagavatpada

  • great to see a movie entirely in Sanskrit. Anyone know where I could buy it on DVD?

  • I wish I could be a student of Shankara. Maybe in my astral dreams.

  • You can, read his books:

    Vivek Chudamani

    Digdridrishya vivek

    Brahmasutra Bhashya

    Geeta Bhashya

    etc.

  • Good work..

There cant be any other guru like adi shankaracharya

  • Greatest movie ever made..!! Jaya Jaya Sankara

    Hara Hara Sankara

  • This episode resulted in the great philosophical work called Manisha panchakam.

    Thanks for uploading.

  • This movie's music director is the Great Legend Dr.Balamuralikrishna and this sloka is sung by himself.

  • Why cannot we accept the fact that a Chandala could possess the crux of advaita knowledge and bestow it to Sankaracharya? Either Sankaracharya could not accept that a Chandala could possess such knowledge and hence thought of him as Siva in disguise or he thought that Siva manifests himself in every human, every living creature on planet Earth.

  • Though this inicdent in Sankaracharya's life was a major turning point, where his arrogance was made to bite the dust by a chandala, I still fail to understand, why this Chandala is percieved as Lord Siva in disguise?

  • Perhaps it was not so much a message to Shankara as to his disciples and others around him! Any illumined soul does NOT differentiate between caste & creed and especially one such as Shankara must have EXPERIENCED Shiva as everything. It is interesting, however, to see Shankara warding off a so-called Chandala despite being illumined. Hmm.. perhaps there is a subtler reason? A Chandala, being born of a lower level, the Divine is less manifest in him than it is for a dvija BraHmanA. (?)

  • Shankara didn't percieve the chandala as Lord Shiva. He percieved him as Shiva-means auspiciousness.

This is a very common mistake people make. Even in Nirvanashatkam,Shankara says "Shivoham".People who aren't proficient in sanskrit thought Shankara was an incarnation of Shiva. But the fact is, Shankara was decribing His soul as auspiciousness.

Sanskrit is a language that never fails 2 confuse people. That's y sadhakas must find a Guru though there r so many books available in the market.

  • It is not uncommon amongst us hindus to percieve real gyan as apaureshaya (coming from divine). Hence the Chandala is percieved as incarnation of Lord Shiva, because his sole purpose was to illustrate Adi Shankara the principal of Adwaita.

  • Janmana Jaayethe shudraha karmana jaayethe dwijaha vedha parayano vipraha brahma gyanena brahmanaha

  • This is beautiful. Thank-you for posting it.

  • Oddio, che roba orribile!

Meglio leggersi le sue opere, va'...

  • can someone provide the links for the whole movie ,am new to torrents and not sure it is safe..

    thanks in adv

  • I don't have words to thank you for sharing this movie. In this part, Adi Shankara composes the famous 'Manisha Panchakam' after the 'chandala' (Lord Shiva in disguise) asks whether the body should move from the way or the athma.

  • If there was a greatest person ever walked on Indian Soil, it is Shri Shri Shri Adi Shankara. No one else has come in stature any where near to him including other acharyas

  • Don't say that we only know about Adi Shankara. This is a land of brahma rishi's who were seers of the profound knowledge described in the Vedas, Brahmanas & Upanishads. Kurukshetra is where Lord Krishna talks to Arjuna. So, Adi Shankara is one of the greats who walked the indian soil but greatest...

  • A teaching of all TRUE spiritual leaders of Hinduism has been that the birth-based caste system is a GROSS PERVERSION of the vocation-based varna system, which allowed mobility among the varnas.

  • Excellent Clip.

  • Really good.

  • Thanks for an excellent clip, please do upload more clips from this movie.
