  • how did you teach sushi to speak? my shiba hiro will not speak or bark unless he hears someone at the door who he is not used to...

  • @puda97ajup Sushi rarely barks. But if he really wants a treat, he gets impatient and barks. So, I set him up to do just that and just put a command word to it.

  • Can you please tell me where you purchased sushi from? He's amazing and I would love to get in contact with the breeder about adopting one for myself.

  • @TheVanityStrain Sushi came from Cusona Kennels in Kingston, Ontario.

  • ha i have a shiba and she can only sit shake and lie down lol

  • 0:23 - 0:28 How sweet! :)

  • aww..."Say your prayers!"that was cute =D

  • such a beautifully looking dog its like a fox, man i want one......

  • omg what a cute name SUSHI!!!

  • Nice work Sushi! And trainer too. What a good Shiba!!

  • sushi haha.. check my shiba inu video his name is toshi

  • I wish I had a shiba Inu. Being a poor student I could barely afford the prices folk ask for a puppy whenever I rarely see them here in Scotlands capital

  • the one thing my shiba and caviler king charles know is the word treat and sometimes sit

  • @jaycizzle I think Sushi was about 2 years old when I took that video, but he still knows all those tricks and a few new ones, too!

  • i have a shiba inu named rocco

and i cannnot get him to do tricks

    howwww do i do it

  • @drummer6374 plenty of time, patience and fun! Oh, and treats, help too :)

  • That's socute!!^^

  • omg its called SUSHI!! SOO CUTEE :D

  • OMG! I am in love with Sushi! He doesn't seem to be too religious but atleast he tries! lol. I have my own shiba (hes in my videos looking all disgruntled) and I can't get him to do anything other then "Sit" "Dance" and "Steal". But yeah.. your shiba is DELICIOUS! I lovers sushi soooo much D:

  • lol its funny, im gonna get a shiba inu, and i was gonna name him/her sushi before even watching this video. what a small world

  • UH! These dogs are Adorable! My cousins have one named Kona! LOVE HIM!!!

  • 0:54

"Did I do it right? Did I do it right?"

  • OMG I LOVE THIS VIDEO!!!! Your dog is amazing and I can't wait to get my own shiba

  • That dog is awesome! Shibas are the best!

  • Lol. I MIGHT GET A SHIBA INU TOO! (:

wow, your dog is so obedient O________O

how long did it take for him to learn all this?

  • Thank you for uploading this great video! We are looking to find our own Shiba. Can you refer a good breeder?

  • @anayousuf Best advice I can give you is to join a Shiba Inu Meetup group in your area, you can meet other owners and find out where they got theirs. Don't forget about rescuing a Shiba, too!

  • i just adopted a little shiba! how did you train yours?

  • @omeedaskari Get yourself and your Shiba enrolled in puppy classes & obedience school as soon as possible. 3 months is a good age to start as Shibas learn so quickly. Take a few levels. The classes are more for the owners so they can teach their dogs properly. Socialize your pup as much as you can in a comfortable environment - around people, kids, other dogs, noises, etc... Find a Shiba Inu meetup group on meetup.com in your area, too.

  • i think shiba inus, huskys and German Shepards are cool

  • I WANT YOUR DOG!!!! Too cute!!

  • I know it's normal to give them treats to have them perform tricks, but I want to see a dog that would perform tricks without treats :p

  • @NYtassu LOL Sushi can do that up to a point. The reason he gets antsy (kind of dancing) is because he is waiting for that treat!

  • your dog is so cute!!! thanks for posting this vid, it made my day! :)

  • your dog is soo smart and cuteeeee *.* <3<3<3<3<3<3<3

hey this is guestion for everyone who have shiba: is shiba good choise for first dog? is it hard to train? I`m thinking what kind of dog I want and I fell in love with shiba inu! all information is appreciate! ^^

  • @AkuRokuforever All I can tell you is to research and research and research. If you can meet some Shiba owners, even better. They are not for everyone, can be a challenge when you least expect it; training needs to start at a very early age, and they need a lot of socializiation right from the start.

  • THAT IS OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD CUTE!!!

  • LOL!!! A cat at the beginning!!! :D

  • @Sharanda113 Sushi is owned by 2 cats in our home :)

  • SOOO CUTE AND SMART!!!

  • How would I go about teach my shiba movement tricks like spin with out spinning her? Please inform me lol your dog is to cute

  • @AsisGalvin Take a yummy treat and hold it in front of your dog's nose, then have her follow it, guiding her to move in a circle. With Sushi, it was easy because he spins naturally when he is excited, lol.

  • @AsisGalvin Your dog must not spin when excited? You can have my dogs spins... I kinda want her to stop... anyway, if trying the whole "follow the treat" game doesnt work, see if you can get your dog excited enough to spin around on her own, reward her and try to get her to do it again using less and less hand contact....I wanted to teach my dog the whole "take a bow" trick, it was impossible until I started to say take a bow and reward her whenever I caught her stretching in the morning

  • wow you did an amazing job with your shiba...i just got one yesterday and it won't even come to me...if anything it runs away everytime i try to get near it...any tips would be much appreciated =)!

  • @bokchoyboy Well, you just got your Shiba, and it is behaving like one, lol. Get into a training class asap, try to find an instructor familiar with the breed and that uses positive training only. Be consistent and patient, and have fun, too!

  • wow you did an amazing job with your shiba...i just got one yesterday and it won't even come to me...if anything it runs away everytime i try to get near it...any tips would be much appreciated =)!

  • i wana learn how i can teach my shiba inu to spin, wave, and say his prayers

  • wow so cool, what a cute dog

  • Sushi?? why sushi?? adorable Akita Ken. Strange name Sushi......whatever it's adorable.

  • LOL your dog is super cute, im actually planning one getting a shiba puppy this summer, how are they like?? are they playful?? and a handful of fun??

  • Wow that's amazing, I always wanted to see a shiba inu upclose, but no one i know owns one :(

  • thats so cute! he prays! hes so cute :)

  • You are an excellent trainer, with a wonderful dog. My next dog I was considering a Shiba Inu, and this video has made up my mnd. Thank you.

  • ur puppy is amazing!!!!!!

  • I just got a Shiba Inu two days ago, it's nowhere as obedient as yours! How long did it take before Sushi finally slept with you, or does she at all? I'm not sure whether I should allow my dog to sleep in my room - she cannot even climb the stairs to my room yet, and she is already easily potty trained to pee outside (downstairs), when did Sushi finally was allowed to sleep with you? Your dog is incredibly beautiful!

  • I wish I have a Shiba Inu. These dogs are so cute!!! =3

  • maybe he's more of a meditater than a prayer.

  • That's amazing :D

  • That's amazing :D

  • Wow, that's amazing :D

  • Wow that's incredible :D

  • I wish that dog was a canadian citizen so I could vote for him in the next federal election

  • LOL LOL LOL Sushi was born in Canada! But, lives in the U.S. with me now.

  • @ShibaSushi i love your dog!

  • very impressive :)

  • "Say your prayers!" SO DARLING!!! Im trying to get my dad to get one... do they need alot of attention?

  • All dogs require a lot of attention. Shibas are independent, kind of cat-like, but they will want to do things with you.

  • aww thay remind me of foxes =]

  • What a beautiful dog, Uv trained him so well too :)

  • Have you trained your Shiba to be a responsive dog outside, or do you still have him leashed? I have only seen one Shiba that has responded to "come" while outside. Sushi is a cute dog :) I love Shibas and he is adorable!

  • He is not as responsive outside, but he is 6 yrs old, so he has mellowed somewhat so he does listen better than he used to. Shibas are not meant to be off leash dogs, unless in a fenced area.

  • This made me tear up. Because it was just that cute.

  • so well trained!

    -A.

  • oh my god, your dog is so well trained!

  • sooo cute, i have a chihuahua that reminds me of a Shiba, i wanted one but they didnt have them in the pet store, but my chihuahua looks sooo alike =)

  • i have an 11 week old shiba lol i have taught her sit and her name so far but im away alot of the day so i dont get a chance. the only promblem is if she catches vision of anything more intresting she wont listen to you at all lol oh and you can never ever let them of the leed because they will run and nvere come back ! ohhh and ther soooooo soft !

  • beautiful shiba. i used to have a shiba named yuri but sadly had to give her away~ shiba inus are the best ^_^

  • very cute shiba mine doesnt listen half that good lol

  • Is it true that Shibas rarely bark?

  • they are usually a quiet dog until something excites them. They are not known to be barky though.

  • hihihi so cute =)

mine can do just a few tricks :P but he's a total sweetheart! <3

  • HES SO CUTE,I WANT A SHIBA SO BADLY NOW!

  • Oh, he is beautiful and smart. I have a Shiba Inu dog named Yoshi. He is also very smart and knows few tricks too. I wish I knew how to make him bark on command, for he is very quiet.

  • I live in Canada and can't find any Shiba breeders. :[

I'm not sure where you live, but where did you get your beautiful dog?

  • Shiba inus ears are soo soft!!

  • Shiba inu becomes selfish if it doesn't train well. It is necessary to understand who the boss. It becomes your faithful dog through life if it is understood that you are a boss.

  • Sushi looks like such a good listener! my shiba took training at Pet-co but she failed miserably. To this day, she can only do a few things. Very hard headed and stubborn but great dogs, nonetheless

  • I hear they are a difficult breed to train. Did you have a lot of trouble training him? I want one so bad but I'm worried it'll be a little terror.

  • So, our cream Shiba, Maya, is 8 months and only occasionally listens. Any tips, since you seem to have it down pat?

  • LOL, I do not have it down pat, but thank you for thinking I do :) Shibas have selective hearing and almost always will. Be consistent, make it positive and fun, be consistent, consistent, consistent. Especially until he is 3 yrs old. 2 yrs is a really testing time with Shibas.

  • Amazing o:

    Greaat!! 5* :)))

  • I have a shiba named Bozko. He knows some tricks. How old is your dog? Mine is crazy and can only do a few tricks. Are you a pro trainer?

  • Sushi is now 6 yrs old. Nope, not a trainer, but we've taken several levels of obedience plus agility. Sushi is all about games, that is his best of learning.

  • ohhh hes so cutee

  • omg what a beautiful face! Such a great dog smile too - this one loved doing all that. Soh22, I know there's a little culture there too, but dogs like this or Bichon's are made to please and bond.

  • I want a shiba inu tooo =(

  • Ooh soo cute :D

  • love this video. It has inspired us to do the same with our little shiba pup. So far we have "sit" and "down"........ :)

Beautiful dogs to spend time with and train.

  • i have a shiba inu too his name is kobi im sad becus he had 2 strokes ):

  • ur dog is so smart i wish i could have one like urs

  • I was thinking about naming my Shiba/Pom sushi, lol. He;s 2 1/2 months.

He looks like a little cream shiba with sesame spots and Pomeranian eyes. lol He's adorable

I LOVE you dog! I can only hope my will train as well.

  • great video, and dog!my brothers shiba does sit, pound it, roll over, bang, stay untill commanded to go, and army crawl!haha so cute!!

  • i have a shiba inu...we have it trained to if you say " Sugars! " he'll run over and lick your face

  • aww so cute :D

  • In my opinion Shiba Inu's are the cutest dogs. They keep that adorable "puppy-face" all the way to adulthood. Plus, their tails are awesome. All in all, they rock !

  • I wish I could train my shiba like that but he's totally nuts

  • I commend you on teaching your dog those tricks. But naming your dog SUSHI?! Is that because he's a Japanese dog??!! I hope not. I hope its because he likes eating sushi or something. If it is, ugh...Maybe I should get a Chihuahua and name him Taco. :-/

  • My shiba inu is named charlie... He can High five, lay down, sit, shake, and i put a treat on his nose then i say Wait then i say Okay then he gets it off his nose by like throwing it off his nose then catching it

  • OMg that looks like my shiba inu... except mine is A LOT bigger

  • Wow. Good job!

  • thats very cool. :) nice doggy owner teamwork. sushi is a cute shiba by the way.

  • aw. I have a Shiba Inu. A black and tan one. She knows how to do alot of tricks!

She doesnt have like a poofy tail like your puppy does though.

  • my shibas 2 years old and his name is dakota as well!

  • how do i teach me shiba inu to do that

  • With lots of patience, practice, and of course, treats and praise!

  • Love your shiba, I have a 2 month old shiba pup and we have started training. It's a lot of fun for both of us, so far we have got sit, stay, shake hands...... I can only hope he will do many great tricks like Sushi. Practice makes perfect!

  • really cute shiba i have one to i named it dakota

  • How nice! And she's so sweet and smart! Funny name too haha

  • great tricks, but for the next video zoom the camera out a little more please. :)

  • OMG. Before, I kinda hated all dogs. But now, I only hate one dog i know. it freakign attack everything and the owner got no control of i. And, when i get older, im getting a Shiba Inu! :D its so adorable

  • Wow, where did u get him at? I really want to have a Shiba dog. They are so cute. =)

  • aww, your dog is so cute ;) do he need a lot of training?

  • Thats a smart dog!! Did you teach him when he was a puppy? Hes so adorable...

  • That's pretty cool...we just got one as well. only 4 months old but house trained, sit, lay, rollover, sit on hind legs, and shake we've taught him so far...just takes time and consistency...love how intelligent they are...

  • i wish i had one :(

  • Omg he is so smart:)

  • Most beautiful dogs ever

  • ok thanks. good to know :)

  • i have that dog! i just got her 2 days ago. are they still cute when they get to be full grown?

  • Of course they are! They don't lose that puppy look. Sushi is almost 6 yrs old & people ask me if he is a puppy all the time.

  • Is that the biggest they get?

  • Sushi is usually 20-22lbs. That is average for a male. I've met Shibas that are 30lbs and are not overweight, just taller. And, I've met female Shibas that weigh 12 lbs!

  • wow, i have two shibas and sadly i think they've trained my family, not the other way around lol. Good job training Sushi! Shiba's can be little stinkers at times :)

  • i want a sushi :(

  • i have shiba named shiva and she refuses to learn anything, she is almost 2 years old and will only sit and lie down :( how do i make her pay attention more when i'm teaching her things, she gets very distracted very easily even with treats

  • Try cheese or peanut butter. The stinkier the treat the better. When 1st teaching a trick, have no distractions - no people, other pets, don't do it outside. Find a quiet spot where Shiva will pay attention. Keep the sessions short, and use tons of praise even if Shiva makes the slightest attempt at the trick, she doesn't have to do it righ the first time ;)

  • im getting a shiba inu for my b-day most lkly!! but since is gonna be a pup..i need help potty training...

  • Your dog is really smart and cute! I love Shiba Inus.

  • cute pup!

  • If you are teaching shake a paw, do not hold her paw, keep your hand flat. That way she can put her paw on top of yours and you can still move it up and down without holding her paw. Sushi will let me hold his paw now, but in the beginning, he did not like it. If your Shiba does not like something s/he is learning, think of a different way to teach it, but keep it a positive experience for him/her ALWAYS.

  • I have a Shiba Inu named Dakota and she is a year old and she doesn't seem to happy with learning but is very energetic. She knows, sit, lie down, stay, beg. But shake seems to always to be a problem. She always tries to bite my hand. Any Advice?

  • I want one of those when I'm older =] Dogs are the shiz! Long live dogs!

  • omg i love shiba inu's i have two and i love them soooo much. there names are noodle and henry!! they r sooo cute thx for the cool videos

  • that was cuteeeee lol

  • i got dog that looks jsut like this but its mixed with sharpei , ... .

  • You sound like my aunt X3 But she likes cats.

  • The prayer trick had my laughing. He's really well trained. xD

  • Treats always help! lol Just try to take each trick step by step depending on what you want to do. For shake a paw, start by just touching her paw (unless she is fine with you holding it). In that case, hold her paw, move your hand up and down, say "shake", praise & a treat; keep repeating until she starts to touch your hand or put her paw in your hand.

  • My Shiba inu is a couch potato. how did you get Sushi to do those tricks. Mine is almost 9 and her name is Sheba. Can you show me how to get her to be less shy and do more tricks.

  • so cute! did I hear right that you taught him how to pray? That's really cute!!

  • WoW! So Cool! Such a smart Dog!

  • He has a nice name :)

  • wow, this dog is very well trained and so cute! how did you train him so well?

  • Shibas learn fast, but we did take several levels of obedience, and I enjoy teaching him tricks, and he seems to enjoy it too.

  • he's awesome.

my shiba does the same when he does 'down' (:

  • It's A Very Well Built Shiba. Youu Should Mabye Think Of Showing Him. I Would Understand If You Don't Though. Some Shiba's Hate Being Showed. I Tried My Shiba In The Showring, And He Attacked The Judge. :( But Then Again, That Was Ages Ago. He Was My First Shiba (Launches Into long Life Story) ... And He Was Finally Diagnosed With Doggy ADHD. He Got Cancer And Had To Be Put Down. Even Thoug He Was The Mutt From Hell, I Loved Him To Bits. I Still Cry Over Losing Him. I Breed Shiba's Now. :-)

  • So obedient

  • How adorable! He's so willing to please!

  • shiba inues are smart dogs . i have one too

  • Very well taught dog, indeed :)

  • wow that dog can say prayers That dog is SMART! im gettin one by late summer

  • I've heard of people having great success in teaching their puppies to sit from a very young age. If he has the attention span, try holding a piece of food up to him with the back of your hand facing him (so he can't just grab it from you). Let him sniff it, and try to figure out how to get the treat. Don't force him by pushing on him. As soon as his bottom hits the ground, say "Sit" firmly, and give him the treat. Praise lots. :)

  • aw he's so adorable : ) His little dance was cute it reminds me of the little dance my friend's shiba inu does.

  • Awh adorable. I just got a pup and named him Inu. This is the 3rd day we have had him and he allready is mostly potty trained. Now he is 3 months old. When should we tsart teaching him basic commands? Or when did you start with your dog.

  • Because Shibas are so intelligent, the sooner you can get him into a training school the better. If you can do it when he is 3 months old, that would be best!

  • your dog is smart! I have a shiba inu and she's really smart too. Thier amazing breeds

  • Very nice shiba inu, so sweet

  • Nice looking Shiba!

  • im getting a shiba inu.i cant wait

i think they are so cute.

    are they trained easily?

  • Shibas do train easily, but because they are so intelligent, they will also choose when they want to do what is asked of them.

  • Do you have any training tips? I was reading that you have to vary your training techniques because they get bored very easily.

  • Shibas learn very quickly which is good. But, because they are so smart, sometimes the owner has to be creative. If one method doesn't work, try another. And, another, etc...

  • i love how it does the prayer :)

  • i love the name sushi

  • i second this.

  • Yeah...these dogs are hard to take care of..you have to watch every move..my sheba chews everything in sight...hes gotten better since hes 2 now but...when hes bored he always finds somthing..haha...gotta love em.

  • i've never owned a pet in my life. I live in an apartment. I'm thinking about getting a shiba maybe in the future. Are they ok for apartments? And do you have advice on how to take care of them?

  • omg im stuck between getting a corgi or shiba inu, damn i wish i could get both

  • shiba inu are better than corgis but both are good

  • my folks own one of these, we got him from tha pound they said we was a stray, and he tends to bite ppl. i frequently put him in a head lock to show him whos boss lol, they are smart dogs but not nearly worth tha hassle. i think ppl just like them because they are cute , anyway ive grown up with mine an he bit me in tha face as a child, so i recommend not having these dogs with children.
