  • hey, i've built a tesla radiant energy circuit, and i've gotten decent results with it. I'm currently using 2 .2 uF, 50v ceramic Caps, and 2 electrolytic 100uF, 50v caps. i have voltage, but i would like to get the wattage to run a small homemade DC engine. do you think using supercaps would help?

  • @DeSTruCT0MaCHiNe

Yes, I believe it would. I am now using a 650 farad boost cap and those are available in 3,000 F and even higher. Only 2.7 volts but you can raise that with a simple circuit like the JT. Good luck with your experiments.

  • Wait, so this Fuji circuit is just like a flash circuit in a disposable camera?

  • @FoamPackingPeanuts

Yes. It has been modified into a joule thief circuit.

  • Hey Bill! Awesome video.

2 Questions, if you have a second.

    1) Is the Fugi board stepping up the voltage using some sort of inverter circuit?

    2) How are you charging the super cap? Straight DC from a wall transformer? Variable power supply?

    Anyhow, thanks again!

  • @patrickikis

As listed in the video explanation area, I just hit the supercap with an AA battery for a few seconds to get the charge. Now, that is a 2.7 volt cap and it was obviously not completely charged using 1.5 volts and also for that short of time period. The Fuji board is basically a step-up transformer that has been modified into a JT circuit. and outputs about 400 volts with 1.5 volts input. Output would be higher if the cap was fully charged.

    Thanks,

    Bill

  • Very Well Done Bill.

  • Thank you! I can't wait until I can afford my new 3,000 farad supercap and then the leds will all be lit for a very long time. On this single 10F cap, the 100 only lit for maybe 4 minutes. This is fun.

  • Thank you! Yes, dig those leds out and lets make a lot of very cheap light from dead batteries. I myself have not done too well with the cfl. I may have to give it another go. I am sure my board will not run one for anywhere near your 12.5 hours, that is excellent! I will have to try some of your modifications to get there. Thank you again.

  • thanks ill have a look, i was having trouble staying focused while on the site, easy to get side tracked with all that info lying around.

  • great work, those leds in parallel or series??

  • Thank you! Well, these are Christmas led lights so I am pretty sure they are in series for the string of 100. I am not 100% sure though. I will have to go look at them.

  • cheers Bill,

heres my Thief i just uploaded, check it out:

  • Thanks! PM me on oudotcom and i will try to locate where it is in the 250 pages of posts. It has been well discussed and there are many versions and then updated versions. Thanks to Jeanna, I can tell you how to identify which board is in the camera from the outside, even though the photo on the box is all the same...the cameras vary. Modifying this board is easy and gadgetmall has just made a super improvement that greatly increases efficiency.

    still cant find the schematic
