Hello StrawberryKoiVintage, I admire your fashion. I was wondering if you agree with me, that women looked and dressed the best from the late 1940's to the early 1960's? I loved those full circle skirts that were just gorgeous for women. Plus the hairstyles were great for women. But the men hair styles for the 50's were kind of dweeb looking dont you think? I do prefer women in long skirts rather than short skirts, dont you think? I humbly must say, you would make a good actress. Go for it!
I just tried this and it looks great, even on hair that barely touches the shoulders. I have made a bun in the back and fixed it with bobby pins, now that looks really vintage. Thanks to you and everyone else who puts such videos online, they are so helpful and inspiring.
This is gorgeous!! I have to try it,lol! Your tutorials look so easy to do, and I'm going to try a few as soon as I flat iron my (naturally curly, lol) hair :-)
honey your bone structure is too gorgeous. And your hair colour is very rich and beautiful. But for some reason i have a feeling if you went blonde you would just knock people off their feet. I am not sure which blonde type ash/honey or sunbleached would be best but what do you think?
haha, well... I must admit I have thought of going blonde in recent times. And actually, I have been a blonde during my teens, and also a red-head. I guess if I were to go blonde again, I would do a honey :)
Hi there - Just wanted to say that I think your tutorials are fantastic and so easy to follow! I always wanted to try this hairstyle but thought it was too hard and never knew where to start. Thanks so much and keep up the great work! from a fan in New Zealand xoxo
After watching this, I wore this hairstyle to my school's literature fair (I needed something to complement a vintage inspired dress I'd wore.) I got so many compliments on my hair,; thank you very much for posting this! =)
Can you show or tell me how to accomplish this look but the opposite way? like twirling your hair under to create what looks like bangs. I got the twirling under part but I can't figure out how to keep it pinned under .
I have actually been meaning to make a vid on the opposite direction for the Pompadour... But for now, I'll just say that there is actually a pretty cool technique where you..
1. Tie the front sec. of hair into a small pony
2. Tease it, so it's nice and full
3. Roll it up and under and pin in place at the hairline.
4. Give it some hairspray and run it over with a fine-tooth comb
You can do it without the pony, but it definitely helps :)
Awesome, thank you, I have been trying to do that style forever, but I never thought to tease my hair before doing, that would definitely help. Thank you
I know women back then were found with hair as long as yours... so it would probably just take a little bit of maneuvering to figure something out, lol :( But don't worry, you are still elegant and beautiful! ^_^

With a lot of hairspray and even more determination, it very well might be possible to create the same look... but without as much "rolling up".
Well, either way... I'm glad you enjoyed the video ^_^
