  • Hello StrawberryKoiVintage, I admire your fashion. I was wondering if you agree with me, that women looked and dressed the best from the late 1940's to the early 1960's? I loved those full circle skirts that were just gorgeous for women. Plus the hairstyles were great for women. But the men hair styles for the 50's were kind of dweeb looking dont you think? I do prefer women in long skirts rather than short skirts, dont you think? I humbly must say, you would make a good actress. Go for it!

  • After the bobby pins add MORE bobby pins, spray, shape, and then add MORE bobby pins! ^_^ LOL

  • I just tried this and it looks great, even on hair that barely touches the shoulders. I have made a bun in the back and fixed it with bobby pins, now that looks really vintage. Thanks to you and everyone else who puts such videos online, they are so helpful and inspiring.

  • @pyepko1230- it's easy just do the same exact but more back and Bobby pin the bangs so they won't get in the way :)

    i'm making her a 1950's pinup zombie.

    *tehehe*

  • Cool. You make it look so easy. I have really long hair and have wanted to learn some of the older styles. I'm definitely subscribing.

  • Oh, thank you! Your support means so much, and good luck with your experimenting! :)

  • SWEEET

Now I know how to do my hair for homecoming!

You look amazing by the way : D

  • you look fantastic

  • thanks a lot

    my girlfriend will

    know what to do with

    her hair now haha

  • honey your bone structure is too gorgeous. And your hair colour is very rich and beautiful. But for some reason i have a feeling if you went blonde you would just knock people off their feet. I am not sure which blonde type ash/honey or sunbleached would be best but what do you think?

  • haha, well... I must admit I have thought of going blonde in recent times. And actually, I have been a blonde during my teens, and also a red-head. I guess if I were to go blonde again, I would do a honey :)

  • try a natural reddish hue..! it would look awesome on you!

  • i truly enjoy watching your videos, hun!

    keep up the good work

    :D

  • Hi there - Just wanted to say that I think your tutorials are fantastic and so easy to follow! I always wanted to try this hairstyle but thought it was too hard and never knew where to start. Thanks so much and keep up the great work! from a fan in New Zealand xoxo

  • I did this style in 1960 I was about 10 , only I would put all my hair in a pony tail and have it like that in the front brings back memories

  • Ah, that's a great way to wear it too!! :)

Thank you so much, I love hearing from people who actually sported the look in the correct decade! lol :)

  • welcome sweetie

  • youre really pretty =] great hair =]

  • Awe, Thank you ^-^

  • i had a real cool pompadour but the barber cut it way too short =( now its kinda lame haha. oh well it grows

  • Yes, it does grow... but it is irritating :( Darn barber!

  • @squirrelnutcased That's why you go to a 1940s barber. ;)

  • After watching this, I wore this hairstyle to my school's literature fair (I needed something to complement a vintage inspired dress I'd wore.) I got so many compliments on my hair,; thank you very much for posting this! =)

  • Awe, that's wonderful! That makes me happy ^__^

  • your hair is in great condition and this tutorial is excellent. you're very pretty and have a great style.

  • Thanks so much! ^_^

  • I LOVE this hairstyle =D

    Nice tutorial!

  • Thanks! ^-^

  • AHHHH! KAWAii<3(:

  • heehee, arigatou!! ^_^

  • Ah perfect. Too bad my bangs are too short..

  • With a lot of hairspray and even more determination, it very well might be possible to create the same look... but without as much "rolling up".

Well, either way... I'm glad you enjoyed the video ^_^

  • Can you show or tell me how to accomplish this look but the opposite way? like twirling your hair under to create what looks like bangs. I got the twirling under part but I can't figure out how to keep it pinned under .

  • I have actually been meaning to make a vid on the opposite direction for the Pompadour... But for now, I'll just say that there is actually a pretty cool technique where you..

    1. Tie the front sec. of hair into a small pony

    2. Tease it, so it's nice and full

    3. Roll it up and under and pin in place at the hairline.

    4. Give it some hairspray and run it over with a fine-tooth comb

You can do it without the pony, but it definitely helps :)

  • Awesome, thank you, I have been trying to do that style forever, but I never thought to tease my hair before doing, that would definitely help. Thank you

  • Great video. I love the 50's looks, I will definately be trying this one out.

  • I would marry you!

  • I love your adorable outfit!

  • Thats a good job. You can also use a 1 1/4 Curling Iron =]

  • Yes, or pin-curls work even better :)

  • aw, very nice video. i thought it was cute when you accidentally dropped your bobby pin...that happens to me alot when i'm doing my victory rolls. :)

  • heehee, thank you =^_^=

  • What a lovely hairstyle!!!

  • Thank you, love! ^-^

  • i LOVE this hair style <3

  • That's great, thank you! ^_^

  • looks bomb!

  • how cute! this reminds me of grease!

  • hehe, I never thought about that ^-^

  • wow, thanks! that was a great video

  • I love this blouse. It's so feminine. Is it a thrift find? Or retail?

  • It's vintage, via eBAy :) Thanks for watching!

  • What a great hairdo! I looove the 40's style, but my hair is too long for any of them. :(

Thank you for the comment on my video!

  • I know women back then were found with hair as long as yours... so it would probably just take a little bit of maneuvering to figure something out, lol :( But don't worry, you are still elegant and beautiful! ^_^

  • Omg you are too cute! I love this tutorial, you hair looks awesome! :D

  • aw! Thank you so much, love! :D

  • if you had blond hair you'll look exactly like that fluer chick from harry potter XP

  • LOL, I'll take that as a compliment ^.^;

  • Incredibly cool. Thanks so much for posting; I can't wait to see more!
