they should do wrestling like that in the WWE.. even tho its still a work, you can see them really fight for each locks and holds, making it a bit more like a shoot...
nowadays they don't even try to maintain the kayfabe anymore.. i think thats what makes it boring.. sports entertainment is fucking lame.. fucking divorce angles and over the top shit like cena getting beat by chairs, steel briefcases, whipped, for 30 minutes, never bleeding, doesnt even look hurt.. and then makes a comeback..
haha got no idea wat the commentators are sayin but loving (what im gussing is the play by play guy) saying some really long sentence and then the colour commentator just going 'HI' about 100 times
Hulk Hogan was actually a talented technical wrestler. I know he frequently wrestled this style in Japan. It's a mystery why he did not wrestle this way in the States because this was probably the biggest criticism against him.
@Junkay2 Because Terry Bollea doesn't care what a few wrestling geeks think. He cares about what gets pop from the fans. In the states, it was the banging that he did. In Japan, this kind of wrestling worked. That's why his character, "Hulk Hogan" is the best of all time. The best pro-wrestler is the one that gets the biggest pop from the fans, NOT the one who can do the best armbar, leglock, takedown or technical collegiate wrestling skills. Terry Bollea could do it all though.
@commishguy While power moves did get the Hulkster over, my thinking is why he did some of the moves he did. In Japan or the U.S., his punches were just abominable. And his legdrop was not the best one ever. His legdrop was more of a mid-match spot in Japan, while it was his finishing move in the states. I think he could have been just as over using some other power move as his finishing hold.
But that's my opinion. Take it for what you feel it's worth!
@commishguy See now... you're confusing Wrestling Characters w/ Pro Wrestlers. And what puts money in promoters pockets from waves of generally "in passing" fans, as opposed to what's respected and valued from the lifers. Ric Flair was JUST as over as Hogan was in the US and he wrestled 5 Star matches left and right that were PRAISED by critics. He could step on any continent and not HAVE to change his style to get over. THAT makes him better than Hulk Hogan, regardless what the WWF booked.
@Junkay2 If he would have, he wouldn't have been able to run roughshod over the WWF for so long while people like Ted DiBiase, Mr Perfect, Ricky Steamboat, Kerry Von Eric, Terry Taylor, Jake Roberts, etc... rummaged around in the mid/upper-mid card. Everyone I just named SHOULD have been WWF World Champion at some point, and none of them were. Just imagine if like, Mark Henry got hot during the 90s and SCSA, The Rock, HHH, Angle, Jericho, etc... NEVER won world titles!?
It's really strange to see Hogan as technical wrestler. That seems WWE is just full of soap opera.
