  • The cat they show throughout the video is very cute.

  • i love my sphynx :)

  • It's Mr. Bigglesworth!

  • why do people say there scaryy!!?? there so beautiful

  • Why isn't the brushing bar on the graph empty? IT HAS NO HAIR TO BRUSH.

  • i'm sad that they were bred in the first place with that much care needed. Cats a meant to be wild, we shouldn't be making them more dependent, we should be making them less dependant.

  • when they look in the mirror they would scare them selves!

  • will they get acne or blackheads like a chinese crested?

  • @ayieshastewart yes, it is possible, but if they are cleaned properly (like a bath once a week) then they should be fine :)

  • @ayieshastewart They can, that is why you should bathe them about once a week. Because they don't have the hair like other cats do, the oil from the skin can't go anywhere. Also, if it is sunny and you will let your sphynx outside for a little while you should make sure the cat is protected against the sun ;3

  • This is a great informative video. Thank you Monique Veronneau for this very informative & Honest review of Sphynx. =)

  • IM MOHAMED FROM BAHRAIN I WOULD LIKE TO BE BREEDER OF Sphynx BLS IF YOU CAN SEND TO BAHRAIN CALL ME : 0097336051544

  • so....do the make wigs for cats?

  • A lot of sphynx end up in rescue because morons don't do their homework beforehand and think that sphynx cats won't aggravate their allergies. But HEY....CATS MAKE DANDER, even if they don't have fur!

  • @ThKiwi That's a sad thing, too. :/ My girl is lovely, I can't understand how people would just dump off a cat that they've spent so much on! Least there's technically two types of cat allergies... and my best friend has the fur allergy. He can play with my Sphynx all the time, doesn't have any problems. But when he's around cats with fur, ooh boy.

  • hey.. at least they won't get fur all over my clothes... and wait did she say they'll get oily?

  • A LOT OF EFFORT FOR SOME COMPANY !

  • I think this is the kind of cat that a lot of people wonder why you'd buy, but once you've owned one, it seems you get hooked on the breed. They must have lovely natures.

  • @ani05tersrvip You hit the nail on the head. I don't think I'll ever go back to having a furred cat. My girl has such a personality... she's great!

  • i was thinking this cat would be awesome to have my family already has a hairless Mexican dog maybe they could become best friends lol

  • its soooooo cuuuuuute !!!! i want one !!!

  • I would love one!

    They are so adorable!

I don't see why they are usually the portrayal of a bad guy in movies; it's just so out of character!

  • I want one!!!! Love them, they are so cute. Where can I find a good breeder?

  • I thought this was a very good description of the sphynx breed with one exception! My sphynx is very vocal and I've heard that the breed does tend to be vocal in general.

  • @Karaokiigal ahaha sarcasm i guess?

or maybe if you're being serious you're mixing it up with the egyptian mau ;)

  • This bitch is stupid. If the breed is only 20 years old then how the FUCK does she know they'll live a good 15-20 years? RETAKE!

  • ohhh beautiful!!!!

  • Great video and the breed has been described extremely well. Each sphynx is unique in its own way, but every one i've met are always incredibly affectionate, including my own.

My own sphynx Pharoah, is very vocal. He loves to say hello and always talks back lol. He is never allowed outside unattended just like the video suggests. He was attacked by a pair of youths once and shot by an air rifle. Unfortunately, there's too many people who just don't understand this wonderful breed.

  • I do not understand why these are always the cat movies choose for the evil character. It makes no sense because they're so affectionate and loving.

  • haha i wish i had a hairless cat! i love anykind of cat but just recently found out im allergic to cat hair ):

  • there so cute but alot of people think there ugly now thumbs up if you agree that they dont deserve to be treated badliy

  • The longest lived pedigree cat in the world is a Sphynx cat named Pierre born February 1, 1964 in Paris, France. He lived for 34 years, 2 months and 4 hours.

  • @BlueBerryWizard damn thats a long time! o_O

  • 15 - 20 years WTF

  • very interesting information...

  • They have an ugly beauty to them.

  • @hashimotto You look like a giant rat XD They're beautiful to most people ;)

  • @Karaokiigal um no.. they were Bread in Canada in 1976 they are not from Egypt at all.

  • lol"They like being filthy"

  • I would love to own a cat like this, I think they are so wonderful, does anyone on here breed them to sell ?

  • lol sphynx are like pugs so ugly yet so cute

  • @TheMamaluigi2 A face only a parent could love :D

  • @SydneyRutledge - not sure about the unattractiveness, i think their face and body shape are amazing... i just imagine it must be odd to stroke them if there's no fur... but they seem to have adorable personalities, so i guess i wouldn't mind much if i had one... <3 cats :)

  • @misinterpretxx NOOO it's not odd to pet them I totally thought the SAME thing before I got mine but they aren't actually totally hairless they have a small layer of peach fuzz so they feel like petting microfiber or velvet and their natural body temp is 107 degrees F. so they are super warm to the touch it's amazing!

  • This may sound like a stupid question but do they get sunburns if they go outside?

  • Yes they do. You don't really want them outside much unless they are on a leash anyway. They are too expensive :-)

  • @JanieA100 yep they sure do if they are in the sun too long

  • @eveis4ever that made no sense whatsoever

  • No, the first sphynx was made in 1963 or so, in Canada. It's a very new breed. >:/

  • I got my sphynx kitten a few months ago. He is amazing and he is so clever. Would recommend a sphynx cat any day!

  • I think the sphynx is the least attractive of the cat breeds but I'm sure they are alot of fun and they seem to be one of the most interesting.

  • they actually do have very very thin short hair which you cant see .. i watched a show on the sphynx on animal planet

i think this is a beautiful amazing cat ~ i will definitely get one if i can

  • Does their skin get chapped more easily? Is there a safe lotion for cats? I'd be scared of the cat licking the lotion off and getting sick...

    Very cute cats!

  • no their skin doesnt get chapped. they just get a lil oily just like humans. they are not scared of water and most of them like to swim/bath

  • You don't want to use lotion on them. You can apply coconut oil to loosen dirt before washing them, but they don't need lotion because they're body produces natural oils. They are a great breed to have, lots of fun...not too much maintenance :-)

  • This is the perfect cat breed for me, just gotta hope they don't aggravate ye olde allergies.

  • When I get older and can live by myself, this is the cat I'm going to look forward to getting. I can't wait!! I heard that at night, they love to sleep under the covers with you and cuddle up that way. Also very active and extremely cutee!!!!!!

  • i wish my sphynx wud sleep at nite, thats when he gets crazy starts running around everywhere...hes funny

  • how old r u now ?

  • i would love to have one one day. i think theyre too cute.

  • i really love cats, and someone have told me that this breed is a smart one, but, i feel like im not ready for this kind 4 now,

they 're cute on their own way :)

and by the way, here in argentina i havent seen this kind of breed

  • My best cats

    Bengals

    SIamese

    Himalayan

  • the best cat u can get are ragdolls !!! siamese !! british shorthair bu i would recommend ragdoll friendly protective sensible good with kids affectionate and good owhtevri 1 !!! i mean evri 1
  • I hear these cats have great personalities, and are incredibly intelligent... I just can't appreciate their appearance though =(

  • i want one!

  • also if u prefer aliens but you cant have one because you live on the earth, u should get a sphynx

  • @denWere ROFL! that was one of the best comments i have ever read!

  • I do really want one but I already have a pretty bitch pug, and its takes to much time and moeny to look after and then when u travel or go out...it would have to wait but they are so cute

  • I want one!

  • AW!! way cute! i cant wait to get mine, their so expensive though T_T

  • it doesnt have ONE thing that looks like a bat. it looks like what it is, a cat. get your eyes checked.

  • I agree I'm getting mine soon and one person priced the Shpinx $1500 dollars !!! can you believe that $1500 dollars and the lowest priced is $650. The Shpinx I'm getting is $900 dollars. I can see why someone would price it up that high they're very valuble cats very cute to don't you think

  • A little scary - but also beautiful in their own way.

  • He is really pretty

  • they look so damn creepy.... looking at one makes my hairs stand up...

  • Wow sphinxes are really angular. maybe because there's no fur to soften the curves.

  • Love your little baby!! Sphynx are the best

    Terrific Sphynx

  • Cool video. You do at times need to clean their nails and inside of their toes too. Dirt and junk gets caught up in there. That black Sphynx is beautiful.

  • sooo cute:)

  • I love my Sphinx! She forgot to mention how smart they are - they respond when you talk to them, come when called and do what they are told, on a basic level. And boy do they like to cuddle!

  • Cute eyes!!!!

  • I have a black one like that in the video...love their amazing snake profile!

  • Austin Powers cat, i love it

  • i wantttt one :]

  • I belive that one on the video is black. I have a calico and a orange tabby spyhnx

  • Very beautiful sphynx!!

  • my sphynx cat looks exactly like that cat! :O not as ugly as some of the sphynx, but as cute as that sphynx! ^3^

but she is white and grey, instead of just grey like this cat. she is the cutest <3

  • They are definitely active little kitties! Mine is VERY dog like, people even think he is a dog when they first meet him. I'll never have a "normal" cat again!

  • absolutely gorgeous cats! I Would love to own one of these, my burmese would be perfect with a sphinx cat.

  • Best breed ever.

  • Sphynx rule!!

Nice video. I agree with everything.

It is VERY important to notice that they are not meant to be left alone, not even for a couple of hours. Mine cries if I even go to the backyard and is left alone or without the dog. Once I left for 1 night and when I returned she was below the bed crying and didn´t eat or drink a zip of water. I felt so bad that now I take her with me or bring a pet sitter to stay home.

  • Thanks for posting :)

  • TRUE!!! AGREE 100%! Will have Sphynxes throughout my entire life!!!

  • Where does the Sphynx really come from in the first place? Is it Egypt?

  • Canada

  • Ok.Thank you for taking time to answer my question. :-)

  • There are breeders all over the world at this point, I think the first documented Sphynx was in the 60's in Canada. I believe they also called the cat Canadian Hairless back then. Do a search on google for Sphynx wiki, you'll find quite a bit of info for sure. It's a very cool breed. Thinking about picking one up this Saturday.

  • Mexico.

  • Canada actually.

  • Nope, Sphinx in Egypt only have similar name with Sphynx cat. :) Origin: Mexico i think..

  • Origin: Canada
