Even with all the road junctions, this is an elagant interchange design. if you take another look at it, you see that the roads are not convoluted, and this is a simple design, its just high off the ground.
In Britain, we have the Spaghetti Junction, which is the Gravelly Hill Interchange in Aston. It is one of the most convoluted road systems in Europe, nay the world.
This one, by comparison, is simple. Though, it still looks slightly confusing.
You said on your other video that highways are expensive($40). Well I guess once you've fucked your way and was confused to where you'd be heading, then that's madness right there, another $40 for you and your sanity.
In America, there are many of these; especially in Texas, and California. Names like "mixmaster", "the big I", "the spaghetti bowl" , and "the mouse trap".
Why is it that all things in Japan look like they've been made on an altered version of rollercoaster tycoon? Rollercoasters, buildings, roads, bridges......
in the UK there are multi-roundabouts, smaller than this but for me as a continental European they were so confusing with their left-traffic, like all spinning counter-clockwise!
Where is the madness? This is only a highway interchange. You can't put stop light on the highway, so intersection is out of the question. Interchange are the only way to route traffic from each direction to any of the 3 other direction without intersection.
Help me ! I have been stuck in this junction for 1 year and 2 months now had to resort to eating car leather for sustanance and running out only have foam left HELP ME ! ;)
Guess that's what happens when you live in a country whose size is pretty narrow and small compared to most other countries. :/ The Japanese sure know how to conserve space, I'll give them that.
Reminds me of the intersection of I-30 and I-35 at Fort Worth, Texas. It is not symmetrical like this one, but has the multi-level roadways seeming to cross every-which-way in various directions. It is almost scary to be driving through it.
@gillianorley right on!! I was gonna say that!! Actually I think in that area in Fort Worth it has like 4 or 5 levels. A little higher than this one but the rails are very low in the USA and very scary.

I have been a pilot for 20 years and have read the safety/accident reports every year from the US and from Australia and have never heard such stuff about Cessna.
