Helping a complete stranger whom you may never again see in your life, making a child or an old person smile, whether it's monetary or just something as simple as paying a compliment, holding open a door, or help a person with disability unload a grocery cart and never look back to see what impact you may have had in that persons day for a moment, that is compassion.

Purpose of life does not exist, its only a creation of the human mind. Things are what they are, humans put a value on them. Not a single soul on this earth knows what the fuck is going on. Then again what I just wrote may not mean anything to the rest of the universe or beyond.
It is not only necessary to have compassion for the friend it is also essential to have compassion for the foe. Empathy does not preclude the presence of a feeling of dislike or disagreement with another. Understanding anything completely is impossible, But having compassion in your work and life transcends all religions, allowing us to understand differences and embrace diversity.

True compassion is giving without ever seeking something in return, just the joy of giving makes compassion what it is. Helping a complete stranger whom you may never again see in your life, making a child or an old person smile, whether it's monetary or just something as simple as paying a compliment, holding open a door, or help a person with disability unload a grocery cart and never look back to see what impact you may have had in that persons day for a moment, that is compassion.

I find a lot of people try looking for happiness in tangible things (eg drugs, possessions [including people being used in possessive ways]), and they expect these to keep them happy. The older i get, the more i feel true happiness starts from within, and can spread to anyone you encounter thruogh the day. I don't consider that selfish. If i walked through life screaming at everyone just on principle, i'd consider that much more selfish

He says compassion so much because is it a fundamental part of Tibetan Buddhism and its teachings. Its good to see that with the Quran by your side you were unable to understand that. What he is saying is that, if you show compassion you will be shown compassion in return. Not, kill him he isn't Muslim. Like your book teaches.

Watch it again - he's setting up the premise. It's very logical. the primary desire that drive us all is the desire to be happy - or at least content. Think how you feel if you do something nice for someone. If you think it through, what he is saying profound. That's what I think anyway.

(c) It makes sense all together and put my mind and soul very comfortable like a baby in mother's hands. When I understood the Bible and Jesus' words, I had clear view of how to live life, ever since, I tried to live a righteous life, to love other people like I love myself, share food and money and always gave some money when I saw poor people on the street. All this was impossible without knowing Jesus.

He's a good man and also a great teacher but all the dogmas like reincarnation are just not worth buying. If you follow Buddha's paths you will know that belief in reincarnation or such a supreme knowledge is a mark of ignorance and bigotry. His teachings reflect Buddhist philosophy at various level and therefore Dalai Lama is a great teacher not a Holy Saint. The dispute among materialistic buddhists and spiritual buddhists is probably the main reason Chinese people not look up to him.
