  • This song is epic. And the video is as good as well.I don't think i'v see such a good video since vienna by ultravox. It's that good.

  • i was looking for real hardcore :(

  • fuckin hardcore

    <3

  • 3:26 - 4:20

  • see you all front row center at COACHELLA for this

  • Beautiful. Still love the impression of a technicolor movie out of the 50´s.

  • I've often pondered where Jarvis gets his sunglasses...

  • Does anyone knows the brand/model of these sunglasses that Jarvis is wearing? I want it! :)

  • the shadow of the piano on her arm looks like long black gloves.

  • This is the sound of feeling dirty...

  • jaqs korem osi olendi!!!

  • this is hands down one of my favourite pulp tracks

  • Jarvis <3

  • Kinda reminds me to Mulholland Drive

  • and the older you grow the more you like Pulp

  • @lolissimaUK Agreed -- the more you've experienced, the more you understand -- this is smart music for those in the know... Now run along, kiddies, and live your lives with a little abandon and adventurousness, and once you've experienced what's out there, taken a few lumps, dusted yourself off and licked yourself clean, come back to Pulp -- especially if you're in the mood for something a little wicked... ;)

  • (...yeah,"pulp" has great tunes but lyrics i MUST change EVERY time i sing ALONG) : I

  • Still adore this track. One of their best.

  • I Would like to dance with this song aj

  • Jarvis looks liked Bernard from black books in this

  • Now that's my kind of music video! Amazing!

  • a song for sale

    watch?v=lSjut9dxks8

  • EPIC!

  • That is one beautiful piece! Great song and extra kudos for that video which I found reminiscent to one of my all time favorite movies "Laura" (1944 Gene Tierney) EPIC!!!

  • stellar. stellar song. epic video

  • the macabre in the mundane. one of the best videos ever made.

  • And that goes in there

    And that goes in there

    And that goes in there

    And that goes in there

  • It reminds me of Bowie

  • What I love about Pulp is that their songs are not just songs with a rythmn. Jarvis acts like a storyteller in all of their songs. They're not making music, they're making stories with a soundtrack. They're almost making movies.

  • i change lyrics every time i sing along...

  • Best act of Reading Festival 2011

  • "...and then its over..."

  • pulp>oasis>blur

  • @petermarron All 10/10 bands, but Pulp is the finest wine of the bunch. Mmm the 90s...

  • Comment removed

  • Just excellent. Scott Walker inspired maybe? What a great tune.

  • Does anyone else expect the guy who tied up to start singing even with his mouth gagged?

  • Sitting here with a bag of skittles, everything started to make sense. MIssing Pulp.

  • One of the 10 best music videos ever made

    who agrees?

  • @gogolplex74 I agree. One of the greatest tracks by one of the greatest bands, set to one of the great music videos. Case. Fucking. Closed.

  • Love Pulp and all their songs so bad that it's an underrated group !

  • Dear VEVO: You suck and that is sad.

  • Electric Picnic brought me here!

  • leeds festival brought me here

  • Comment removed

  • from 3:25-4:09, reminds me of mad men.

  • Jarvis from 2:30 looking supa cool!

  • Every Pulp video should be at the curriculum of every university that wants to have a Cinematography program...Brilliant, from the images to the core and the meaning of it...Jarvis and the others of course were geniuses!

  • @haradwatch Or at the least "postgrad production funding". The costumes in this damn thing must have been 20K minimum. Ok granted pulp where actually pretty big for a bit, but holy cow this must have cost a fair penny to shoot.

  • I was on the barrier for them at Leeds, they were so mesmerising I was just in awe at Jarvis and his moves

  • never really heard much of Pulp (other than Disco 2000 etc..) but I saw them live at Leeds festival and they were incredible- best performance of the weekend!

  • @SunShineNotAvailable Welcome to one of the greatest and most under-rated bands ever. So grateful my dad brought me up with them, made Reading that much better for me and he was so fucking jealous!

  • @SunShineNotAvailable exactly the same for me. Been surfing for live vids of Leeds all morning, but can only find Reading ones :( looked like they rocked that too!!!

  • saw this song live at reading yesterday and it was amazing! soo good

  • Is this song about some guy raping a girl? Cuz that's what I thought it was about...

  • jarvis is hot is this

  • It may sound like a Bond track, but the lyrics would hardly be appropriate. Unless Bond was going through a bad patch and wandering through the red light district visiting sex shops.

Now Portishead..that's a different matter. 'All Mine' would have been a great Bond theme. Glad it wasn't though, Bond is stupid and as predictable as Christmas. Films are supposed to tell a story, not just become a tradition.

  • @reggie18b Nice ramble, did you think it said something clever?

  • @miceinfreefall Aw come on, give the guy a break. Doesn't anyone have the right to express a random thought anymore? Pfff

  • @reggie18b You're right, although Casino Royale was a breath of fresh air.

  • @reggie18b

Bond isn't stupid, bro, way to be a hipster

  • @TheCagedTiger

It is stupid, and I'm afraid your powers of discernment are way off, as I'm nothing like a hipster. I'm far, far to right-wing for that, and hipsters are an American thing anyway, which I'm not. Bond is supposed to be British, but going round blasting people with your lazer-watch and driving round in your super-fast invisible car is anything but British; it is brash, obvious, vulgar, predictable. Bond has no flaws that would make him interesting and human. It's utter shite.

  • @reggie18b

I disagree. James Bond is a timeless series of film, even if the endings are predictable. And vulgar? Seems a bit strange to call it vulgar, I don't see anything nasty about it at all. Take your over-analyzation elsewhere, you pretentious snob.

  • @TheCagedTiger

Pretentious snob now? You know nothing about me, yet unable to argue against what I say you resort to lame insults. Bond is 'timeless'? Rubbish, you're just repeating words you've seen in film reviews. It's the very opposite of timeless-glamour designed to appeal to those living in post-war austerity, bedding women to appeal to men emasculated by feminism, showing a British hero at a time of national decline etc--but stuff you don't understand you call 'overanalyzation' yes?

  • @TheCagedTiger

...and incidentally, I left the comment (which you notice contained no insults to any particular person) you were responding to two months ago, so I had long since 'taken my over analyzation elsewhere.' If what you really wanted was for me not to comment here, why write provocative replies to an old post which you know will probably get me to come back here? Why start an argument and then complain when the other person shows up for it?

  • @reggie18b

So I'm right, then! I'm glad! Also, argument verbosum doesn't help you much in these situations, tone it down.

  • @reggie18b I always thought 'I spy' would be a good Bond tune, it helps if you imagine Bond skilfully avoiding dog turds with his Aston Martin.

  • @reggie18b lol, did you see that film with john travolta as st michael, he was going tru a bit of a bad patch, getting drunk checking a few womans and tings, cant mind how it ended....

  • This song is the bee's knees.

  • sono felice che ci sia ancora qualcuno che li ascolta...

  • yeah que bueno eran estos pulp , ya no he escuchado nada de ellos pero esta rola es genial , disfruten

  • i was looking for hardcore music, this came up, I LIKE IT

  • they are amazing

  • "This is the eye of the storm" Really feels like were going in the heart of darkness in this song.

  • I don't really care how underrated Pulp are. One of the best bands in the 90's and this is one of their best songs. If it wasn't for the music the lyrics would be enough. Pure genius!

  • 25 people dont know this is HARDCORE !!

  • Jarvis Cocker and 50s color palettes--I'm happy.

  • Simply a perfect song!

  • That's a coincidence, rats are all they found in my head at college too.

  • @devourerofbabies what does it mean?? can you tell me please??

  • @1mucocele It doesn't mean anything. The acting at the beginning is deliberately bad and the dialogue is nonsense. They're making fun of old movies.

  • @ 3:25, Matt Damon.

  • I want her ring.

  • defining moment after the joy an ecstacy the realisation that lifes a dirty game and if u keep getting away with it ur a winner jarvis=genius!

  • @bannanamouse he wouldn't have known he didn't like it if he didn't watch the video.

  • Tremenda estética , THIS IS POPart-CORE!!!!

  • Simply amazing! This might be the best music video ever made. Shame it's not so well-known. I love it.

Brilliant juxtaposition of the opening lines "You are hardcore/You make me hard" with the image of Jarvis tied up. hehehe Mmmm... Goddamn! *fans face* This song is so sexy.

  • candida looks delicious in this vid.

  • I can't belive 20 people don't like this video! it's flawless!

  • this song sounds as a 007 soundtrack

  • @franliberty Pulp actually did a Bond soundtrack around this time that was never used

  • best song...EVER!

  • Excellent video. They say if you watch it forty-three times, you end up in Borneo clutching at strings.

  • But, but .. you know.. It's in my collection. Much better if you don't look at the video by the way.

  • Superficial depth - gravitas lite - six wasted minutes
