@chickenbutt6000 Oh Paul rocked it out in the early days. Long Tall Sally, I'm Down, Kansas City.. Yeah maybe he didn't get to be as soulful in the early days but he always had the voice and capability to sound the way he does here.
For me, the best part is at 2:08... "Whoa, whoa". Wildlife is a great song that has gone underated for a long, long time. Paul's vocal is fantastic. He sings it with such strong emotion. And it's one of the earliest songs protesting the poor treatment of animals of which I am aware. A McCartney song with lyrics that can match the music (some critics say Paul's lyrics are always weak). I say - not so.
@aBeatleFan4ever I agree, Paul's lyrics arent weak. Its just that most of his songs arent serious, so they say the lyrics are not so good, but his lyrics are just different. Paul is a better songwriter now, he just keeps learning more writing styles and strategies. Paul is also a very funny in his music. lol
@plasticgazzaband Paul was worth £2 million ,then, and they were sharing the same studio, stage,he let them down ,financially throughout 70s.For all that,I love Paul.
I had this on VHS years ago - this was always my favorite bit. Paul's voice is just amazing. Great performance. This must exist in full somewhere, no??
@69MC97gc Insert a finger in your ass and another in your mouth, and then exchange. Do this several times and you'll discover your true nature, son of a bitch.
@Gidoleinchen because back then music was different. now, we've been through so much of it, we can accept it. but like i said back then it wasn't "in"
@kevin4peace you are right.....although pauls voice is still good and enjoyable the effects of age and the wear and tear on his voice was inevitable. I have been listening to his music since 1964 and his voice is definately not as good as it was in this old film clip......but then again, this is to be expected as anyone ages....actors, sports figures etc. Even with his older voice now I would rather listen to him than 95% of the new crap
This is the early 1970s which i do love...All is about amazed,,,even the Simpson episode. After 1969 McCartney came 1970 and RAM,.The first Band album ,the one which in hindsight even to the then know-it-all is called a gem .....Wild Life which was dissed, and yet have so many beautiful songs.Red Rose Speedway and Power Cut and of course My Love.
This song makes me sad, it is one of those amazing songs ( in the Beatles and Paul McCartney, Lennon, Harrison, Starr that is so underrated it makes me want to kill someone.(you)
moi j'aime pas les chanteurs qui font de la pop et qui crient plus qu'ils ne chantent !! Si encore c'était du punk d'accord mais là c'est censé être de la musique calme et audible, donc la voix qui déraille c'est bof quand même .
In the same way Yoko got John into political causes in the early seventies, Linda encouraged Paul to support ecological causes - way before it was mainstream to do so. He's never credited with being radical in his own way.
@WilburyVision totally agree about this side of Paul not getting credit. I think it's the way his family reproduces rapidly though that sort of negates it.
I do like the fact he buys land to turn into wildlife sanctuaries though.
He could end up putting his great grandchildrend there.
McCartney's most underrated album to date. There are some real solid tracks on this LP and for anyone who wants to listen to his pure vocal ability, this might be the one to listen to.
Thank you.Wild Life...what Ever happens to---this was also recorded when the nucleus of WINGs was formed. in Scotland where Paul and Linda were hiding in a small cottage somewhere in hee mountains of Scotsmen...The pipes are not ready yet...
Can't agree - I think it's a great album. Tomorrow and Dear Friend get me every time. It's a bit rough & ready but it's good that way. I wouldn't say the same about all the Wings albums but this is probably my favourite. I do find it hard to find people who agree with me - most people think Wings are shit and half of the people that like 'em think Wild Life is shit. It's a lonely life being a Wings fan!
The problem with the album 'Wild Life' was simply its utter mediocrity. I like this track actually, and 'Dear Friend' is even better, but the rest apart from "Some People Never Know" is awful.
Wow, this made me see that Wild Life is kind of a good song. And the live backing vocals - spot on! Wings was a good band, especially by today's standards of singers-who-can't-sing.
This VIDEO is part of a VHS mcCartney tape no longer in print..this isnt a rare home movie.....the VHS does NOT have anymore of this rare conccert on it either..I am sure PAUL has it.....COme on Paul--release this concert!!
This is an awesome song. It's totally Paul and his wings stuff was the best. He definitely deserved more credit for his work then but they didn't. He is a genius.
I'd love to see\hear this whole concert. Interesting to see the big-screen back projection - I didn't think that had been used at concerts as far back as 1973 - is that another McCartney innovation that he doesn't get credit for?
I just finished reading the book "Band on the run". Paul went through a lot during the Wings years. Press criticized his music terribly. He should be given credit because he didnt use the same Beatles formula, he reinvented himself and his music.
to johnLennon100: speaking of songs that sound like other songs.......listen to the song "stewball....possibly spelled "stew ball".....a very old public domain folk tune about a race horse. If you are a big Lennon fan.....this song (stew ball) will sound "quite familiar"
TO COMMENT BELOW . . YES I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN, I DID THE SAME WITH MARC BOLAN AND PAUL McCARTNEY ALL THOSE YEARS AGO . .IN FACT WHEN I THINK ABOUT IT . . I STILL DO!

Yes. Understated and generally forgotten in his post Beatle years by the general public...... thanks Paul
I agree. I think Wings was one of the best bands of the '70s. They were not appreciated as much as they should have been, always being compared to The Beatles. I saw them in concert and they were great.
cut down the forest who cares about the wild life the animals who live there they have no right no voice. man is all about building progress it only take five minutes to cut down a tree that took a life time to grow
People who expected another Hey Jude clearly missed the point of this era. This song gets better with age as does all Wings stuff. Bono of U2 was telling Paul how much people are really listening and liking the Wings catalog and not the just the hits. Wings was a massive hits band but the really great gems are tracks like this and ballads like Warm And Beautiful among countless others and even more not released. Ed
Wild Life was not a great commercial success and perhaps not the Album like RAM. The song Wild Life is not only one of the premiere songs of the endangered animal kingdom but the harmonies in this song are brilliant! The Wild Life album I like as much as Red / Rose Speedway!!

Why do people always ask if McCartney can sing his Wings/solo material, but never ask that question about his Beatle material?
If McCartney can stand up night after night and scream Helter Skelter he can sing anything else he wants!!
McCartney should be performing much more of his post Beatles material!
thumbsaloft 1 year ago 3
Someone needs to grab McCartney, shake him and let him know that he should be performing this fantastic music right now!
The Beatle heavy setlist has gotten old, it's way past time for more Wings and solo material.

when paul started again was not easy for him. He was subestimated by a lot of miths, But he centanly has shown who is who or who was who in the beatels and solo

I agree, "Wild Life" is one of my favorite Wings albums. That, and "Red Rose Speedway".

Red Rose is my fav Paul album. Very overlooked. Glad there are other fans of the Speedway!

Single Piegon Is A Great Song Its Only Down Fall Was That It Was To Short, The Piano Break In The Middle When The Trumpets Come In Great, McCartney Is My Favorate Artist, Speedway Is Not My Favorate Album But Its Still Great, Made Up You Like It, Theres A Good Booklet In The Original lp Aswell ( Ive Got It ) All My McCartney Albums Are Original The Whole Collection Even The Fireman lps And I Have Also Got ( Thrillington ) Whitch Is Hard To Get On lp These Days.
