  • Another way to do this, if you want to show that even if the sound source is stationary, you'll still hear the shift in frequencies, is to use AUDACITY and a computer mic with a long wire. Place the sound source on a table, click record and swing the mic like a pendulum towards the sound source. The entire time, the only thing that experiences the shift in pitch is the moving observer, the mic. The students will be able to hear it when the recording is played back.

  • My physics teacher turned on the radio on my phone, put it in a bag of marbles and started spinning around his head lol dunno why the marbles :L

  • @EminentCreatorZ He wanted to do some damage xD

  • Man, I wish education was like that down where I live, I noticed how the classroom was so well maintained, well decorated, and the students were well behaved (very well for their age especially) and the teacher truly looked like he enjoyed what he did. And to your teacher, please keep on doing what you do, the education systems need A LOT more of teachers like you. =)

  • I agree with everyone else, your students are very fortunate to have a teacher like you.

  • i want a teacher like you

  • Awesome teaching! A teacher like that not only makes a student want to come to class, but makes them eager to learn. My favorite teacher in high school was a biology teacher, who put his heart and soul into teaching. The things he taught me I remember today still, and that was about 25 years ago.

  • cool

  • The frequency of the noise is speeding up as the speaker moves closer, hence why is seems a higher pitch. As it moves away it takes longer to reach your ears, seeming slower.
