  • My first read words ,See spot run, back in first grade .55 years later its still interesting, more so than ever.

  • After viewing some of these videos ,I believe wolves evolved from dogs not what research believes.I draw this irrational conclusion from articles about fossil found dating back three million years. These old fossils are of the spotted dog.

  • Well, thats highly unlikley I think, becouse wild dogs evolved out of Xenocyon, witch evolved about 1.8 ma ago.

Whilst wolves belong to the genus Canis, witch evolved about 6 ma ago.

Wild dogs are in a completley different lineage.

Also, 3 million years ago, there was no African wild dog. Even its genus hadnt yet appeared (lycaon)

  • Either your a man of science or you just researched this.I did not mean to insult all the hard work of those who try to piece together the what and when of small fossil fragments.

  • I made a presumption that,Canis africanus was the african wild dog.I read wrong and learned only enough to be dangerous. The article did mention the dfficulty in determining Lycaon from early wolves. The article stated the earliest wild dog appeared in africa 1 to 3 million yrs.Savage et Russell 1983.This field of study is way more complex than my understanding.

  • It's a pity that it's exactly their feeling of resposibilty to one another - the whole pack with the whole pack - that is one of the strongest reasons they are on the endangered animals list. They are VERY efficicent hunters but have a lot of mouths to feed.

  • All for one and one for all would seem a crucial advantage considering their competition and the lethal abilities of close by predators.Maybe from a natural selection point of view , survival of the strongest would give them an evolution edge I' m sure your comment can be seen as thinking outside of the box.

  • An endurance runner never has much speed. And a sprinter never does much in distance. The have both speed and long distance.Thank you

  • This video shows that they also take care of tthe older members of the packor mentions it. How fast are they.
