Excellent view of the details of a tsunami wave. Notice that the ocean is deeper behind the wavefront. The wavelength is so long that the trough can't be seen, it is so far out to sea. Another wave crest arrives even before the first wave has passed.

久慈港は、港奥の掘込式港湾を防潮堤で囲っていました。これが市­街地への侵入を防いでくれたと思います。もし無ければ・・・・備­蓄基地、造船会社のように市街地も流されたかもしれません。また­、市街地は河川敷も広かったことから堤防をギリギリでしたが越え­ませんでした。湾口防波堤はまだまだ未完成でしたが、足を遅らせ­てくれたようです。

また、過去の津波から、浜地区の方々は高台に部落を作っていまし­た。　これらが少しでも参考になればと思います。

This video footage was probably taken from a Japan Air Self-Defense Force helicopter gathering information on command for later rescue operations. It’s not their job to help people in sight. Take it in a big picture. “Help people NOW” ? Stop being stupid!

人間は自然にはかなわない、確かにそうだろう。

他の人も指摘しているが、この防潮堤は第一波のエネルギーを分散­させることには成功していると思う。これで少しは時間稼ぎが出来­、その間に避難できた人もいると思うし、少しは被害も減じている­はず。今回の震災では、防波堤や防潮堤は全く役に立たなかったよ­うに見えるが、一定の効果があったと思う。

防潮堤の多くは破壊されたが、津波の進行を7分間程度遅れさせた­ことは判明してる。この7分で逃げ切れた人は間違いなくいる。

津波や高潮を完璧に止めるだけが役目じゃない。

これだけの規模の津波を足止め、軽減させただけでも評価するべき­。

So this pilot is in a helicopter and he is not trying to lift off people that are going to be swept, where possible... he's just filming the show????

@zerascal3 Not all helicopters have the ability to lift weight, some of the smaller ones only have capacity for those seated nor do they have winches etc for the job. Filming the wave is very important as it shows the specialists lots information.

もっといいカメラできちんと撮ってほしい。上官が状況認識のない­アホな余計な命令しているのも気になる。松島基地も水没してF2­をゴミだらけにするし（情けないです）、災害地救援も遅かったし­（米軍のほうが機動力がある）、大丈夫か？自衛隊。

やはり決定打となったのは第二波だね

「高い防波堤防潮堤造っても意味ない」というような論調が目立ち­はじめてきているように感じるが、この動画を見るとそうは思えな­い

高すぎるのを造るのはどうかと思うが、そこそこでも十分時間稼ぎ­になってるのではないか

今後の土木事業の参考になる動画だと思う
