compared to my version of this for nintendo64, gosh that have been the best times, this is just fail, its so different , i dont feel scared by watching it, and i dont like the fact you have so much contacts, the old version will always stay the best in my heart

this game looks so cool! Although it has similarities with God of war, prince of persia, Dante's inferno, etc. I would love to play that game, I saw more than 50 bosses in this trailer and Gabriel has wings, a horse, an eagle, a cross, a sharp globe....and so on. This is is going to be the best game of 2010..besides GOW 3 of course.
@JOEmega64 - it's nice but lipsynching is not existent. + the red coat guy looks like SOLID SNAKE ;))) no shit just but on the bandana on ;)))) the game should be named MEDIEVAL KNIGHT SOLID ;)))
I'd say that most all of the classical characters/creatures that appear here have been reconcieved very well. The only real complaint I have in this department is that enough of them weren't brought over. I guess they have to save something for the sequels. Still, what I wouldn't have given to see more variety in the basic skeleton enemies......or to see the classic mermen.....or the fleamen.
@diegoluanbaptista How is the character art design different than all previous Castlevanias? You do realize that the character art direction has changed several times during this franchise's 20+ year history, right? IMO, Gabriel is styled exactly as a proper 3D Belmont should be. And Dracula, at the very end, is a fantastic take on the character.....much more fitting than the comical Bela Lugosi fashioned version we've gotten in many previous CV games.
some kind of decease affect the new videogames designers DMC5, Resident evil 5, Gow3(the ending was disapointing) and the list go on.for some reason this is happening more in ps3 and xbox (nintendo have the vacine but sometimes fails)
i really hope they become more carefully and stop messing around with the players fellings. still the game is fun and well maybe is clon from GoW but GoW take many things from Lament of inocence (is an evil vicious circle be afraidddd)

Now, I'm just saying this from watching this trailer without having played the game yet. This game looks visually breathtaking, even if it is a god of War clone. I'm actually really glad to see that, finally, a 3D Castlevania game is impressive. Now I'm a big fan of the Castlevania series in its entirety so this is slightly bias but I have to say this is one of the best visual games I've EVER seen in the Xbox/PS3 collection. I'm very excited about playing it. =)

I was initially disappointed with what appears to be the ending, but I got over it. I haven't played throught the whole game, nor have a witnessed the ending first hand.....so I'm giving it a chance. No ending could be disappointing enough to make me not play the game. I just had a different idea for how the ending would go, and I was a bit miffed when it turned out not to be the case. Regardless, I'm still currently enjoying the hell outta this game.:D
in the end zobek is actully the bad guy and he is the lord of the dead

i own the game and it has been epic every step of the way !!!!!!!!!!!! konami has defenitely done it with his one and i think they deserve a lot more credit this time around!
I actually love how punishing the combat in this game is. Most other action slasher games like this you can get away with just mashing on the attack buttons until everyone is dead. Not on LoS. If you don't mix in a good defensive scheme to your tactics your as good as dead. Funny that some ppl are actually complaining about the combat because of this. But this just goes to show that this isn't just another button masher like, say........God of War. ;D
4:30 to 4:41 just sounds so epic, the voice acting is top notch, heard the english cast wasn't all that big, bummer, should have been an allstar cast, this game deserves it.
@VastedCouth I heard that it's not Solid Snake himself, but rather Gabriel decked out in Snake's gear (eye patch, bandana, etc...). Don't know if this is true or not yet.

just got done playin the demo on XBL and it looks sick on my 65" DLP, probably the best lookin game ive ever seen... oh and its not a God of War clone at all, feels very different when you play it
Why does it seem that everyone wants Dracula to always be the final boss of castlevania. This game looks amazing even if it is a God Of War clone. I will give it something God of War doesnt have, Read the review and they said this game will take about 20 hours to complete which is something God Or War cant pull off. And by the way I love God of War as well.
@Devil2476 And God of War is a Devil May Cry clone. Its give and take in the game world. I just hope that for once it will be a true masterpiece-vania, which the other 3-d ones have yet to be. SotN is still so good to this day. With my main man Hideo at the reins, for once I feel optimistic.
@rikard92 One thing I've learned from these LoS videos is that most God of War fanboys don't know shit about anything other than God of War. They're just trolling because LoS stands a good chance of unseating Kratos as the god of hack n slash games. ;)
@Devil2476 "God Of War clone." God of War was set in a world of Greek Mythology. This isn't. Kratos's Blades of Chaos are clones of the Vampire Killer whip from the original Castlevania then. And God of War is a game with polygons, I guess you got Lords of Shadow there, as it too has polygons. Wait...Devil May Cry was out before God Of War...And Devil May Cry is still a far better action game (except DMC2) than God Of War, but you God Of War fanatics don't seem to understand that. Or time.

@Devil2476 There is not a single game out today that isn't a rip-off. God of War was inspired by the Castlevanias, Devil May Crys, and Soul Reavers before it. The only true way to be a ripoff is to a take inspiration without trying to do anything different. God of War didn't create or copyright running around and fighting big monsters. It only took advantage of the tech available to it to impress. Castlevania LoS is in no way a rip off. Its different enough to be it's own masterpiece.
@Devil2476 i think it does a good job, it steers away from traditional castlevanianess but its still pretty good. i wish they would have kept the huge RPG elements, one of the reasons i LOVE castlevania, but overall its a great start to an alternate universe for castlevania.
This new Castlevania looks awesome! Pretty much Kojima has been reading Jojo's Bizarre Adventure because of the vampire mask that made Dio a vampire. Also before Kratos it was the Belmonts that first used the whip and chain in the games. Gabriel Belmont here reminds me of the Perseus with all those weapons he has in his arsenal. Truly another awesome game to have in the Xbox and PS3 consoles.
@MrNightie Yeah, their argument, particularly IGN's, boils down to them not liking it because it didn't play like a Metroidvania. I loved SotN, and would have loved to see the Metroidvania formula used in Lords of Shadow, but appreciate the back to classic form that this game is aiming for.

@Emblemz kojima is a supervisor and a co director of the game, the game is developed by mercury steam, a european studio based in Madrid and leaded by dave cox.
I highly recommend watching the newly posted video for this game. Search for The Story & Characters: Narrated by Jason Isaacs. You will learn much. And it all but confirms Dracula as the final bad guy. ;D
@IidoTheFox what would really be cool for the cannon,is that gabriel puts the mask on and some how becomes the original darcula (the lord,of the lord of shadows).and then they could tie in the reason why the belmonts are cursed with the fate of hunting darcula and why there the only blood line who can.thats what i was hoping for.but this game just oozes epicness.fuck all those bias,nostalgic based reviews,this game is going to be great.
i just downloaded played the demo of the game it was pretty short but still pretty cool.i preordered the special edition last month so i just hope its worth the money.
@usausaarmy i had to get a newzealand ps3 account because the demo is only avaliable in europe,newzealand and souronding countries from what i heared it may not be avaiable in the usa?but the demo is only about 5 min long so its not a big deal your not missing much.
is there a way to play this game in japanese dub and english sub without buying a japanese version of this game cuz imho japanese voices sound way more epic and dramatic lool reply as soon as possible
@SILENTGAMAH well i dont think the xbox 360 version would have the japanese voices due to limited storage space on the dvd because you would have to have two serperate voice over tracks.but it might be possible that the ps3 version could have the option to change the dialog from english to japanese since theres more storage space on bluray disc.but you may have to wait for the game is released to find out for sure.
@KamenRider30 do you know any games where this might be true for ps3 games because i bought ff13 and there was no option, i would have to buy a japanese version although maybe if i changed the ps3 language setting i might have been able to hear japanese lool i dunno
@SILENTGAMAH well i myself preordered ff13 when it was released in japan and the game itself was in japanese except for a few menu text.i actually finished the game with online guides that helped with the japanese text.i dont know of any games on the ps3 that you can change the voice overs as for changing the ps3 setting language to japanese you dont want to do that since it only changes the menu's language on your ps3 it doesent affect voice overs on the games you play.
@SILENTGAMAH you can always import castlevania lords of shadow from japan but keep in mind odds are there may or may not be the option to change the voice overs to english and all the text in the game is probably all in japanese.as for the demo goes i can tell you that you cant change the voiceovers to japanese its just in english.
I get the feeling Gabriel going too be the next Dracula. He is messing with evil powers to try and bring back his wife after all. And look at the history of Dracula and how he was made. That's just my thought though.
There is an article on ign.com about the PS3 being the lead platform, development wise, for this game. so, if there are any bugs, it would be in the 360's ported version. Reverse Bayonetta situation.
But the important thing is that the new release "The Lords Of Shadows" was made by Hideo Kojima, a pioneer and initiator of excellent deliveries, so the truth has made me eternal wait for this game and now I get my hands . Furthermore: What rot fans God Of War,
I think most games are a copy of Castlevania, because from the beginning this game blew up everything that we now find in any videogame, violence, and legendary creatures beautifully Adron scenarios in great detail ... even the music has always been fascinating in all castlevania games.

The game looks really nice! I think, I'll buy it, if the reviews will be good. But even if it looks like a good game, I got to say, that it lacks of an own identity. It's really just a complete God Of War clone. That's not horrible by any means since it looks like a good clone at least. But a little more own personality would make the game much more attractive. It even has Titans on it! And the Titan fights again look like a clone of "Shadow Of The Collossus". What about some own ideas?

This was the biggest disappointment of the year for me. Hated this game, wish I hadn't played it.

I really enjoy the game but i got kinda annoyed when the first lord was insanely hard compared to the 2nd one :\

i own the game and it has been epic every step of the way !!!!!!!!!!!! konami has defenitely done it with his one and i think they deserve a lot more credit this time around!

I actually love how punishing the combat in this game is. Most other action slasher games like this you can get away with just mashing on the attack buttons until everyone is dead. Not on LoS. If you don't mix in a good defensive scheme to your tactics your as good as dead. Funny that some ppl are actually complaining about the combat because of this. But this just goes to show that this isn't just another button masher like, say........God of War. ;D

4:30 to 4:41 just sounds so epic, the voice acting is top notch, heard the english cast wasn't all that big, bummer, should have been an allstar cast, this game deserves it.

Why does it seem that everyone wants Dracula to always be the final boss of castlevania. This game looks amazing even if it is a God Of War clone. I will give it something God of War doesnt have, Read the review and they said this game will take about 20 hours to complete which is something God Or War cant pull off. And by the way I love God of War as well.

@Devil2476 "God Of War clone." God of War was set in a world of Greek Mythology. This isn't. Kratos's Blades of Chaos are clones of the Vampire Killer whip from the original Castlevania then. And God of War is a game with polygons, I guess you got Lords of Shadow there, as it too has polygons. Wait...Devil May Cry was out before God Of War...And Devil May Cry is still a far better action game (except DMC2) than God Of War, but you God Of War fanatics don't seem to understand that. Or time.

@Devil2476 There is not a single game out today that isn't a rip-off. God of War was inspired by the Castlevanias, Devil May Crys, and Soul Reavers before it. The only true way to be a ripoff is to a take inspiration without trying to do anything different. God of War didn't create or copyright running around and fighting big monsters. It only took advantage of the tech available to it to impress. Castlevania LoS is in no way a rip off. Its different enough to be it's own masterpiece.

@Devil2476 i think it does a good job, it steers away from traditional castlevanianess but its still pretty good. i wish they would have kept the huge RPG elements, one of the reasons i LOVE castlevania, but overall its a great start to an alternate universe for castlevania.

This new Castlevania looks awesome! Pretty much Kojima has been reading Jojo's Bizarre Adventure because of the vampire mask that made Dio a vampire. Also before Kratos it was the Belmonts that first used the whip and chain in the games. Gabriel Belmont here reminds me of the Perseus with all those weapons he has in his arsenal. Truly another awesome game to have in the Xbox and PS3 consoles.

I highly recommend watching the newly posted video for this game. Search for The Story & Characters: Narrated by Jason Isaacs. You will learn much. And it all but confirms Dracula as the final bad guy. ;D

@SILENTGAMAH well i dont think the xbox 360 version would have the japanese voices due to limited storage space on the dvd because you would have to have two serperate voice over tracks.but it might be possible that the ps3 version could have the option to change the dialog from english to japanese since theres more storage space on bluray disc.but you may have to wait for the game is released to find out for sure.

@SILENTGAMAH well i myself preordered ff13 when it was released in japan and the game itself was in japanese except for a few menu text.i actually finished the game with online guides that helped with the japanese text.i dont know of any games on the ps3 that you can change the voice overs as for changing the ps3 setting language to japanese you dont want to do that since it only changes the menu's language on your ps3 it doesent affect voice overs on the games you play.

@SILENTGAMAH you can always import castlevania lords of shadow from japan but keep in mind odds are there may or may not be the option to change the voice overs to english and all the text in the game is probably all in japanese.as for the demo goes i can tell you that you cant change the voiceovers to japanese its just in english.

The game looks really nice! I think, I'll buy it, if the reviews will be good. But even if it looks like a good game, I got to say, that it lacks of an own identity. It's really just a complete God Of War clone. That's not horrible by any means since it looks like a good clone at least. But a little more own personality would make the game much more attractive. It even has Titans on it! And the Titan fights again look like a clone of "Shadow Of The Collossus". What about some own ideas?
