yeah, thanks for not using the pedal. I just don't understand why people think that is a good a idea with counterpoint. would you consider posting a version of the capriccio?
It isn't possible to exploit the full range of tone color made possible by the piano without using the pedal, and pedaling can be applied even to dense fugues in such a way that the counterpoint is enhanced. Unfortunately, this is difficult to do and most people just end up creating a wash of sound. But, on the modern piano, I still think it's better to attempt to use the pedal skillfully rather than avoid it completely.
Your interpretation is very nice! Don't forget to sustain the long tones.
Nice one! I like your minimal use of pedal. This is my favourite Partita. I first heard it as played by Martha Argerich about 6 years ago. I keep meaning to listen to some of the other ones, but I still haven't finished with this one!
Yes... it is beautiful... the last movement is the Capriccio. I really enjoy listening to Martha Argerich perform this piece. Thanks very much for the kind comment and inquiry.
i know ive heard that before! i just dont know when or where..thats good stuff.and you play well..and when i say well in my book thats better than "very well" just well is better yeah..you play well...!
well.. I did not work it up for a performance.. I just like the piece and thought I'd share a taste of it with this youtube audiance. :) Thanks very much! Glad you enjoyed!
i totally agree with you, this being my second favorite movement of the partita. it is fun to play and so is the capriccio. i don't think that it needs any pedal, but then again, i guess you could call me a purist. ah, the sound of an out of tune grand piano, has to be a practice room at college, takes me back! i might put some bach on here, all my videos are of scott joplin.
actually... the out of tune piano is a piano just moved from Georgia with 98% humidity to Colorado with 10% humidity... it's still adjusting to the new climate 3 years later... much better though. Thanks for you Comment! Love this piece... it's an old favorite of mine.
Me too .. I like this more than your take two in which you rush some partitions and what is more they sound so absurd from your general tempo which is generally inconsistent. In this one you have some pauses but ITs ok its a hard one youre playing and you are good at playing bach..Well done.
OMG! That's sweet. I love Bach, and I love Martha too. Keep on good work. Try to aim for more fluidity and command, and emotion. Ever heard of Rosalyn Tureck? Try to listen to some of her bach.
A big Bravo!
Magnificent.
Indeed, this movement is sublime and over with her beautiful ornament.
Exellent technical, just perfect!

thank you - I liked that! There are some mistakes, but they do not make performance unpleasant for listener at all, so I enjoyed.

Unfortunately I'm not in a position to give advise, but only compliments.
I have looked through a few of your videos, your evidently a good pianist. Hopefully I can be as good as you some day. Take care.

I'm not sure what your getting at. It's spelt correctly and if you look it up in the dictionary you might notice it's used correctly too.
