When it was legal in the US then these horses would simply just go and die. Now they have to be stuffed into a trailer then stuffed onto a ship where they suffer way more than they were before. People cant afford to feed their horses and rescues are so full that they arent taking any more animals.

So that horse that gets abandoned in a field starving to death. Would you rather them have to live the last few weeks of their lives with no food or water or would slaughter (an instant death where they dont suffer) be a better choice for that poor horse. I can't handle people being so cruel to our beautiful horses! :( But unfortunately they use the meat to feed our cats and dogs, what else can we feed them other than cows and pigs. We all should become vegetarians! In France they eat horses! :( I can't believe that someone could eat such a majestic animal! This is one subject that is very touchy, I can't handle it! :(
