  • Very good video. I am your newest subscriber..

  • @Teddybearcop48 Glad you subbed to my vids ;)

  • If you don't mind me asking...how big of a size pot do you need or do you suggest? What type of soil should you use and where do you get your seeds from? You said wait about three months, when you pull them out, is there anything else you're supposed to look for so you can replant them? (like seed wise, what do you look for?). I'm going to try to get into this more and do the same. Maybe even year-round :) Thank you for whatever advice, information, you can give me and thanks for sharing!

  • @Svecenader1 Well I'd say the bigger the better, and I use a soil that drains well, since potatoes rot easely in wet soil.As far as seeds...you just chuck off a peice of an actual potato when you see it start to have little greenn sprouting thing on it. Usually happens in bought potato bags after a while ;)

  • Brilliant I am growing some inside this winter!

  • @tabtui awsome! They grow pretty well indoors

  • How big were they to start, and how long did that take?

  • @stevelau1933 Well you plant one small piece, or a small spud, and from it the plant grows and then it grow new potatoes. the first one you plant kinda dissolve into the plant. An it took like 3 months. but outdoor here a potato will grow from May to the end of september easely

  • one guy is allergic to potatoes

  • You have a cool accent!

  • @BostonMountaineer Thanks, it's French Canadian ;)

  • @jihadacadien I recently met four french canadian folks. one couple had an american accent, i guess you would call it, and the other two ladies still had an accent different from yours. haha, cool videos though

  • @TradeMark2003 Yeah there's a lot of french accents I guess in Canada

  • awesome job i really like your vids and learned a lot thanks.

  • @LuvHealthNConception Ah well thanks. Hope you keep watching

  • @jihadacadien of course i will :)

  • @ghostofpaulrevere lol, thanks

  • i love patatoes <3

  • @knetterzak yeah me too ;) Plus it makes a nice looking plat too!

  • Are`nt home grown veggies just the best tasting thing in the world, ive grown potatoes [tatties here in uk] in buckets every year plus in the garden and the ones in containers or buckets are always the tastiest.

  • @ukgardener1 yeah they do taste better, plus fun to think it grew in the house!

  • thats so cool lol were did you buy your seed potaos

  • @jerrydff7 Well this one was germinating in the bag I bough in the store ;)

  • Is it possible to do this in the winter using a compost bag and keeping the door of the greenhouse shut all winter? Would it work better in one of dad's cow sheds near a window? Possibly in the old pig house near a window? How warm would it have to be to try this in the winter?

  • @PhilipK100 Sorry i didnT get this message before! I suppose if winter isnt too harsh you could. But not for me, it get way to cold for that...even a heated greenhouse would have rouble here ;) My advice just try it out!

  • omg how exciting!

  • @eliden Yeah it was!

  • Comment removed

  • @jihadacadien which vlog showed you cutting the potatoes and putting in that pot?

  • wowee ......wow

  • @TABULOUS1 I know right!?

  • Wow, that's highly impressive. At least you got some potatoes, even if they're small. What kind of potatoes were they?

  • @ShadowVampira Red skin...I guess....hey you should try growing that!!

  • @jihadacadien Did you use ordinary grocery store potatoes or special seed potatoes?

  • @ShadowVampira Outdoor I bought some growing potatoes.....but this one was a store bought potato that started sprouting in the bag.

  • that is cool!

  • @MrGreenbudha Thanks...it is!!

  • @GulfCoastJaguarundi well a potatoe plant grows it's potatoes close to it's stem. So I suppose you could grow them in a smaller pot. And they don't need that much light either. Mine grew with the winter sun. aqnd it's not strong and it last only like 8hours max a day.

  • A wicked thing about growing indoors, is that ya don't have to use pestasides too! : D

  • @theGHETTOMAN1 yeah they did go crazy a little but it was worth it!

  • HAHAHA Thanx brother! ; D *thumbs up* I know, I wish I had 1 of those apt. railing, garden boxes(about 3 feet longx1 foot wide) LOL I need tons of soil too! <:'( Last time I used 1 of those the vines covered my entire window haha. i got new potatoes every week though! ; ) I told ya they would go crazy..hehe ; D mmm now I want a baked potato with butter, garlic greens and salt n pepper!!

  • @theGHETTOMAN1 ;) then go get one!!!!!

  • I think I'm going to try some indoors this winter too! :)

  • @MakeupAddict4eva Me too!!

  • Very cool, I don't have much luck with them. I cant wait to try again.

  • @MrGabesutube Me too!

  • those are actually great looking potatoes. a little olive oilk and course salt makes them look like supper

  • @HarryBugger butter and coarse salt too! ;)

  • as long as the potatoe doesnt get to hot you can grow them in the kitchen year round. the little potatoes taste the best.

  • @crewlla i am so going to do this this winter!

  • Awesome! It's always exciting to dig up potatoes for us. It's like fishing - you never know what's down there until you pull it up!

  • @steen1973 Yeah! carrots are like that for me too!

  • That's way cool.....potatoes in a pot...nice

  • @TheUrbanOutdoors I KNOW!!!

  • how many did you plant to begin with?

I think it's pretty cool that you harvested potatoes grown indoors. ~Amanda

  • @GettingThereGreen Just one.....very small one too!

  • That is awesome! I love your Moosehead t-shirt dude! Man those potatoes looked real good with butter on em!

  • @berean73 Thanks they have those free in 24 cases right now ;)And the taters tasted pretty good too!

  • I thought you were going to break out into uncontrolable-crazyman-laughter for a second there. :) I wonder how many you would have gotten if the plant didn't get roasted to death...?

  • @bcgarden2010 I have no idea! But as soon as I get low on my potatoes this winter I'm trying this out again, on a bigger scale!

  • Posted too soon. I think I'll grow more varieties of potatoes next year. How great!

  • @VivianRinSC Yeah I only planted red.....might try some more too! Since we have perfect weather for root veggies here.

  • Wow! Roasted, seasoned new potatoes for dinner?

  • @VivianRinSC yup, home grown and harvested 2 hours before! lol!

  • Amazing. I've been wanting to do that.

  • @smileyjeff Then try it you'll have fun! I never imagine I'd actually get eatable potatoes out of it!

  • good lookin crop for a bowl lol. I love new potatoes/podaydoze

  • @omegahpla ;) Crazy they grew indoors!

  • Amazing !!! Have you ever seen a gardening program about potato growing on the Channel Islands Guernsey, Jersey and Sark. All of England waits for the first early new potatoes from the Islands and they go to amazing lengths to produce them grown under plastic on south facing slopes etc. but I don't think they ever tried growing them in the living-room.

  • @dalecalder2003 no I never did see that.....but I must say living room potatoes taste the best! lol!

  • indoor potatoes nice job!!

  • @pinetar100 yeah! thanks!

  • good job........you act like a kid in a kid in a candy store.....loved it.....hahaha

  • @ironhead41 man I never imagine I'd actually get potatoes out of it!

  • Thats what we call "new potatoes" and that is the perfect size for them..crap im gonna grow me some indoors this winter..I wished u had backed off on the pot so I could see what size you used..how big was it? I have some chitted potatoes I need to hurry and get in some dirt tomorrow I guess, still got the ones in trash barrels outside waiting on..Did u put them under lights indoors on just in a window?

  • YAY!! I definitely believe you. That pot on the deck I showed had small potatoes that were vining and putting out tiny potatoes right on the kitchen counter. I wish I had thought to put them in a pot earlier. Cool!! I know they tasted great.

  • @msfullroller just try it again next time ;) and they did taste like normal potatoes!

  • Good looking spuds!!!!

  • @TheVittleVlog they tasted pretty great too!

  • I love the way you say POE-DAY-DOZE... I was smiling throughout the whole video lol ;)
