The anti-mutilationists must NOT GIVE UP THEIR FIGHT! No matter how many times you guys get defeated, remember that this is the integrity of the genitals of little boys you're fighting for. If a lion is eating my kids, I will fight with him to the death even if I have no chance of winning. Trying to stop circumcision is the same thing: it is such a horrifyingly immoral thing, that you need to fight against it even if it seems hopeless and you get defeated ad nauseum. Circumcision will not prevent HIV, AIDS, or any diseases. It's ridiculous. No one has the religious right to circumcise children and risk their life for no reason. Female circumcision is illegal, even if it's for religious reasons. Male circumcision should be illegal, religious reasons included.

Blessings to those whom stand up for the rights of the child. Children (and especially infants) will never be able to defend themselves; they will always be at the mercy of adults.

As adults we must recognize that it is wrong to cause harm to children, regardless of our abilities to justify these actions. We are entrusted to their protection and not their owners.

This is just one step in the process. Civil rights for people of color in this country took many years of persistent work, to overcome the tradition of Jim Crow, people's sloth and lethargy.  Change did come, first in ideas, then in people, then in the law. This will be a similar battle. Even as a nearly grass roots effort we have been very effective so far. Sexual mutilation of minors will not be seen as a "right" forever. It is a human rights issue.

Question: When he says most people grow up and don't like circumcision, why would they then circumcise their child? Every parent who circumcised their child, was once a circumcised child too.

@bfsportsman613 They continue to do it because of cultural conformity, the fear of being ostracized, the inability to admit oneself or partner or sibling or friend has been abused by one's or his own parents, etc.

Mothers almost univerally cry in impotent sorrow and guilt during the brises of their sons. Grown men keep their heads down or walk out of the room, sometimes sick to their stomachs.... and yet... it's "a BEAUTIFUL EXPERIENCE!" right? ... There are no bounds to human rationalization.

@bfsportsman613 By doing as was done to them, they can 1) ensure that their sons don't have more penis than they do 2) ensure that their son looks like them (a very basic biological hedge against nurturing someone else's genes) 3) maintain their denial that they were harmed.

The guy in the beggining who claims to Jewish is obviously not Jewish when at 3:33 he says circumcision is part of "your religion" to the man he is debating. Clearly if he was Jewish or had Jewish faith he would have said "our" or "my religion". Posing as a Jew to make people think that most Jews are against circumcision is pretty decieving and devious. I guess not enough people and Jews agree with him that he has to pretend to be a Jew who does.

@MCandHIV so then he's not Jewish. Renouncing your religion makes you no longer that religion. Just like a Christian who converts to Judiasm is no longer a Christian, a Jew (or any religion for that matter) who renounces his religion is not that religion (because he renounced it). He also clearly says he's dressed as Jewish as possible (which he's not but he's wearing Jewish Stars....) just to trick people into thinking he's Jewish. It's called deception.

This is an issue of children's rights! The measure being stricken from the ballot is just a glitch in a much larger and more important discussion. Marilyn Milos began that discussion 30 years ago. It has never been stronger than it is now. Justice will ultimately prevail.
