PAINLESS? ROFL, it may be for some but you can experience tons of symptoms while your blood is being cleaned including SEVERE headaches or even just minor ones, Since your blood is being taken out of your body it goes back in cold (There are ways to fix this) but it can leave a patient FREEZING for an entire treatments. Not to mention the two needle sticks, although not to bad if done by the right person, needle sticks can damage your access if they infitrate the vessel wall or even destroy it.
All of my mothers family had this shit, and just my luck, I have no goddamn insurance and my kidneys have been feeling weird and strange for the past 3-4 weeks...I really hate this shit, I'm bawling like a bitch. I can't even go to the doctors cause I don't have a job, -Trying to find one- and I'm praying It's either nothing or a small infection.
If your kidneys are failing, ask about peritoneal dialysis. Many patients who are very active prefer this form of treatment. To support your catheter, check out the custom-made PD Security Band! Many patients say that it's so comfortable, they forgot they have it on! Also, before having surgery for the catheter, make sure to talk with your medical team that they do not place the catheter in your belt line- Be a proactive team with them from the very beginning, especially catheter placement!
My father died of renal failure (Both his liver and kidney failed on 1st november at 2:30AM) the family made the choice to take him off Dialysis machine and put relaxants into him so his final hours her peacefull, I have no regets because he is not suffering anymore and one day we will all be in the same situation, death. His breaths got shorter and shorter untill one last breach his heart pushed one time and one last movement and the last bit of oxygen came out and he passed on.
I spent 15 years without doing dialysis. this was done through prayer and a change of life style. if we understand our body and know what is best for the need of the body especially when you are sick this is essential. we all know how to look after a car, and we don't put orange juice but petrol to help it drive. Your body is an amazing machine, and nutrition that will give less work for your kidney is great. a vegan diet with lots of water is a great combination to clean the system
Painless? I was on dialysis for two years. Fatigue, cramping, soar back, fifteen gauge needles pushed into your arm three times a week; all exhibit some form of pain. Not to mention sitting there with minimal mobility for five hours isn't too fun. I am grateful every day for my friend who gave me my life back.
iI just came from a drs appt . from the blood test results the dr told me that the numbers came up a little bit high. Tomorrow I will go for a second test.
Hey question for the smart ones. I can't find the info i need online, just the same nonconclusive bullshit after another. I was bit by a brown recluse about a week ago right close to where my left kidney is, i've been bit before on my hand and it just caused a little rash. This time it made me sick, and i hate to say but my urine smells, and now my poo flouts. I haven't felt right in the head like everything irritates me. I've never had this happen to me before help?
@broadcastmyass4u i would go to the hospital and see someone and ask them yea i know it is a embasseing thing but think about it wat if its more inportant then u think it is, its most likely a first stage of kidney failure but if u dont get any meds for it ur kidneys could shut down. its not a good thing. i was born with a serious stage where i was on meds since birth. got a transplant but i was lucky.
@twistedkidd93 thanks for the reply, i would go to doctor its not that im embarresd, its i don't have the money. sorry to hear about your condition man, keep your head up
@BNNYWVH1 dude thats not true for all rates my bf is still here and living today and im very thankful for that if it was ten yrs he wouldnt be here u need to learn a lil more before u go sayin shit like that
painless? Well, depends what you consider pain I guess. Relatively not painful but still I wouldn't say painless neither. I mean .. I didn't much like 15 gauge needles stuck into my arm or the bag cramps or the blood pressure drops. But I guess with longer slower dialysis more like a real kidney I would not have gotten those symptoms. Plus Emla cream helped me with the pain in the arm. Too bad I wasn't able to establish buttonholes. That would have been even less pain yet.

Why you doctors don't tell patients that they have about 1-10 years to live? And they may live longer, but 1-10 years is the going rate?
BNNYWVH1 2 years ago
@BNNYWVH1 well u might have 1-10 yrs to live as well, dialysis or not, only God is in control, so stop putting people down

twistedkidd93 1 year ago
@BNNYWVH1
Because it varies greatly depending on the patient. And that's assuming the patient is older, younger patients could last 40 years on dialysis.
