  • watch?v=idG_Odfk9fI here u go VW löwers !

  • ITS SO TRUE! my prius sounds like a vacuum cleaner. But my new BMW 745li is like rrrrrRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrRRRRRRRRR. My prius is like one of them Henry hovers.

  • Prius batteries cannot be reused. Where do you think they'll end up? Landfill? Forever?

  • What is the resale on the VW and reliability?

  • 25 prius drivers are too bitter cause they bought the wrong car

  • it goes like hoooooooooooooo

  • dats kool

  • I loe this commercial!

  • Hahahahaha

  • This is one of my favorite VW commercials :)

  • Why is he drinking hose water??

  • @TheSquirrelsquirrels

Good question, and also why from a hose that's just running, wasting water by the gallon? A real granola-muncher wouldn't wash his Prius, hell, they rarely even wash themselves.

  • Volkswagens ads are just like their cars, they are the best !

  • frog that prius. slow complicated shoebox. no soul.

  • my prius is not that loud

  • Good funny commercial, but is you care about car emissions and how much oil your car uses you would get a Prius

  • @Killroy1999 yea and how you need to replace the big ass battery in a prius like once every 6 years right?

  • @Killroy1999 - If you care about total emissions cradle to grave you'll get almost anything EXCEPT a Prius. Check out "The Hybrid Electric Hoax" at samexam.com. Pretty good writeup on the subject.

  • @Killroy1999 ...The process to make a battery that powers the Prius is dangerous to the environment. You have to replace the battery every 8 or so years. The battery you just had to replace is more dangerous to our environment than leaving a V-8 engine on, and burning gasoline for 8 years straight. Figure out how that makes sense. -_-

  • @Proudrebel7

There is a lot of mis-information about the hybrids. Hybrid batteries are non-toxic, reusable and recycle. Many Prius batteries are over a decade old and still running. The lead acid battery in the VW (every car has a starter battery) is a lot more toxic than a hybrid battery.

  • @Killroy1999 Well, it's not the battery itself that's toxic, it's the process of making the battery that is toxic I'm afraid. Yes we need to find an energy solution, because one day we'll run out of crude oil, but it needs to be something that's not as bad for the environment as these lithium-ion batteries. Or find a less toxic way of making them.

  • @Killroy1999 Agreed!

  • 24 Prius owners watched this video.

  • @JELH watch?v=idG_Odfk9fI - hihi ,chk this one m8 !

  • @mrpink88 I guess your right to a point Toyota does manufacture about 10 different cars here in the states and now Toyota does have alot of problems to me it's not that important where the car is built but at the same time i guess if I bought a ferrari I would rather have built in the home country so I do know what you are saying to a point

  • Well the Toyota Camry is built in the states and VW is gonna build cars here soon too in Tennessee so your telling me you wouldn't buy those cars just because it was made here in the states

  • The toyota just sucks!

  • @drMINDdamage You are definitely right.

  • @Hombrezzzz wow i had no idea i got 14 thumbs up ahahahaha

  • @drMINDdamage There should be definitely more. 14 is not enough.

  • are you sure i just read the report The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) on Tuesday that China’s top 10 sedan brands in terms of sales from January to May saw their sales come to 761,200 cars, the top ten sedan brands were: 1. Buick Excelle (94,300 units) 2. Elantra Yuedong (93,400) 3. Jetta (88,400) 4. BYD F3(86,400) 5. Santana (73,200) 6. Elantra (70,600) 7. Chery QQ (69,900) 8. Xiali (65,500) 9. Accord (63,600) 10. Camry (55,900)
  • get your facts straight Toyota and Volkswagens are good cars but every car company has good years and bad years in china Toyota and Honda are not even in the top 10 cause the people in china believe that there quality is not there

  • @jay123health its japan not china

  • @jay123health No, your wrong it definitely matters where the vehicles are built. Mexican, Brazilian and US plants are run differently then German and Japanese plants. Completely different work ethic and motivation. I'd buy the Golf MK6 over a Jetta any day, way better quality because its made in Germany. Read any review, it's a fact.

  • People should get there facts straight it doesn't matter where the car is built like the last comment on she said sloppy mexicans built the jetta some people can be so rude and not all Toyota cars are built in japan and china the Toyota Camry, which is built in Georgetown, Ky., and Lafayette, Indiana that's like me saying who wants to buy a car that a stupid hick built get your facts straight Toyota and Volkswagens are good cars but every car company has good years and bad years in china Toyot

  • @jay123health You fit the dumb american stereotype perfectly, keep it up.

  • Yeah, likened to the fat guy and not the samurai?

Yes, much love and respect to Otto and Diesel, which is btw both German.

Would you prefer your vehicle built by Japanese dedication or sloppy Mexicans or under average Joe? "Hey what this nut for?" - and then tossed away, remember?

  • Why is everyone arguing about a blue piece of shit?

  • lol, the ending's epic

but it depends on the people whether they like sound engine or quiet one

  • I like it that VW uses Das Auto as world wide slogan it seams. And it's pretty strange for me to see no license plate on the front.

  • they should have animated the beetle a bit but not in CGI but like they do with herbie to give it a bit of more character

  • Makes you wonder why more people don't consider diesel cars instead of hybrids; it's a wash in fuel economy.

  • the lowered talon guy is a troll don't listen to him. He must have a major beef with VW, he was on here a several weeks ago when I was on here.

  • @kwaglockman Actually, I am going to listen to him. People who troll don't provide usefull information as he has.

  • @kwaglockman Just pointing out facts. Trolls don't have facts. If I was a troll I would be posting crap all over your channel instead.

  • .....dats cool...

  • haha no thats the sound he makes sucking on a fat one!

  • Hey you guys! You know if this commercial is on TV in US actually? or when it was first on the air??

  • @GarrettKeetley I told you before, your problem is you are looking at just the gas engine. Hence why I've kept saying ELECTRIC MOTOR. Since the Prius is a hybrid it combines both power sources. You keep looking at just one power source, which you can't do, because when under peak load both are used. Electric motors make more torque then a tdi engine will, and they will do it at just about any rpm, instantly.

  • @GarrettKeetley lol, ELECTRIC MOTOR. I don't need to keep telling myself anything, facts are facts. Are there really people as stupid as you? Or are you just acting?

  • @GarrettKeetley You're in denial. The Prius DOES make that. vw's are also known for that mpg meter in the car to be very inaccurate. Tell him to do his own calculations and not rely on the car to tell him....he might be in for a surprise. If vw know's all that, then I'll ask you again, why are they bringing out a hybrid for 2012??? And you just going around saying stuff 'sucks' doesn't make it true.

  • @GarrettKeetley I happen to own both, a Prius and a Jetta. Your dad (it's always someone else's car that gets these big claims, never the actual person who tells you about it) MAY get 66mpg, but that's not the typical real numbers. He must drive down a lot of hills and never go back up them. I could also tell you about the high maintance of my owning a tdi to the Prius, but I'm sure you'll have some excuse for me. I will NEVER buy another vw product again, I've had 2 and BOTH were shit.

  • @GarrettKeetley Wow, you're so far off man. Prius makes 140hp, 300lbs of torque. Think about it, an electric motor makes WAY more torque at any rpm then any ICE. The Prius KILLS the Jetta all day, any day. The piece of shit is the jetta, don't believe me? Ask vw when they're bringing out their hybrid and ditching their diesels...oh wait, I can tell you: 2012. IF diesels are so great, why is Europe switching from diesels to hybirds faster then any other market?

  • @loweredtalon

I like when people make him up false facts ;)

  • @TheWarmplate I like when people actually make sense...which you didn't.

  • @loweredtalon the voice of the black VW in the commercial is balki bartokomous from "perfect strangers," so what do you think of that? do you own a balki bartokomous, too? what's the mileage on that? how's the stylage on that?

  • The fact that vw had to make this commercial proves to me they are scared of the Prius.

  • @99gsx4g63t

Yes, clearly VW is scared of a POS car.

  • @foughtwolf If the Prius really was a POS, imagine what the vw must be.

  • @99gsx4g63t

Reliable, decently fast, durable, long lasting, good image cars? Im sorry, am I missing something? Oh, thats right, sorry, VW's dont come with a smug owner.

  • @foughtwolf lol, ya, because there isn't anything smug about your comment. I can tell you what you're missing: SHITTY built mexican crap. Funny how the only people that comment on the 'smug' owners are vw owners....must be because of the lack of quality and reliability vw's aren't known for. Anyone who says different is only fooling themselves.

  • @99gsx4g63t

Alright, Im done, clearly your a retard. I can build and drive a VW for the rest of my life and be better on the planet than a single Prius can do in its entire life.

  • @foughtwolf Now with a reply like that, it's clear to me you are the retard. You are stuck on crap you read and hear and base your opinion on that, rather then read into the REAL facts. Thats ok, you keep drving that crapbox, and I'll keep laughing at you everytime I pass you at the pump and the vw dealer.

  • Comment removed

  • @foughtwolf btw it's 'you're' not your, dumbass!

  • and thepoint of that was......?

  • my amg get horrbile mileago and goes vruuuummm

  • @BlackKnightSkye lol 600 miles, I've got both a Jetta tdi and a Prius. The Prius gets 1100kms/tank and costs me $35 to fill. My Jetta (which by the way has been in the shop to many times to count) gets 800kms/tank and costs $45 to fill. Next car will be a new Prius. If you get one, good luck.

  • @smokedame Yeah, the old TDi VWs were very high maintenance. These are not those. And these diesel engines will greatly outlast the battery on a Prius.

I'm just against using an expensive material in batteries that's extremely energy consuming to recycle. It defeats the purpose.

And new generation Turbo Diesel vehicles have little maintenance, little exhaust and achieve amazing mileage. Not to mention, some vroom vroom.

  • lolz "what does your hybrid sound like" " Hoooooooooooooooooooo"

  • No question which one I'd take home. Yea' u right, the black Beelte is the winner:)

  • i used to think this commercial was stupid, but now that i see that it advertised TDIs, "OHHHHH."

  • LOL, good to know vw is scared....afterall, the Prius outsells the tdi 4-1

  • @99gsx4g63t LOL good to know that the Jetta wagon sales in 2009 skyrocketed 648 perecent in 2009 and Jetta sales are up 7 percent in the same timeframe. So sad that Prius sales were DOWN 21 percent in 2009. No wonder they were selling at invoice by the new year! LMFAO

  • @ridersinblack1 Only one laughing is Toyota. Do you know why the sales were down? No, I didn't think so, on reason was beause people were waiting for the 2010's! This year they are down from last because last years 'cash for clunkers' I'm sorry that you are in such disbelief. The fact is, Prius out sells tdi AND ALL other hybrids. People don't want expensive diesel's. Just wait untill it's time to replace that so called 'clean diesel' exhaust system...

  • @99gsx4g63t and to replace your toxic battery after 7 short years in a prius. No wonder they are given up for lease after 3 years. Nobody would dare own one.

  • @ridersinblack1 ....right. So, your saying the battery needs to be replaced in 7 years, when the warranty is 10 years? That makes no sense. Toxic? No, hardly. I think you're thinking of the lead acid battery your car has. Sounds to me like you need to look into hybrid system a little bit more then you have. So far all you've done is talk, but just from your mind. Again 4-1...and no one would own one huh? You're just up set the Prius is eating vw's lunch.

  • @99gsx4g63t Holy shit dude your head is really in the sand. Your car has a lead battery just like mine!! remember? You have TWO batteries. The lead acid and NiMH. The lead acid is smaller, yes, but 3/4 the size of an average car. And the NiMH isn't completely recyclable. There is a fair amount of residual waste that still comes out of the packs. And the cost to replace them? Fucking outrageous. I have seen battery packs at dealers go up to $4500 for replacement and that's WITHOUT the computer.

  • @ridersinblack1 I'm not going to reply to you anymore, because you just keep making shit up. Anyone on youtube can do what you're doing. I've done my research, I looked at the shitboxes vw trys to sell, and it is just not worth the effort to buy some mexican piece of shit. My heads in the sand, right....better start looking up these facts for yourself. Your prices are coming from where? I have contacts with people in many different areas and NO ONE has paid the amount you are talking about.

  • @99gsx4g63t The cheapest replacement for gen 1 cars is around 2400 and gen2 cars around 2700 and again that's without the computer and NOT at a Toyota dealer. So basically, a chump walking into my local Toyota dealer will pay around $5000 plus taxes to have their prius battery and computer replaced. Is this talk to you again? My posts have specific references but all yours are just shit talk with GENERALIZATIONS. And upset about eating VW lunch? a Prius owner can't even afford to beg for one

  • @ridersinblack1 YOU are the one stuck on generalizations, you hear stuff from old stories that have been proven to be wrong, you read stuff online and just assume it has to be true. Prius eats tdi's, all day and everday. End of story. Remember, Prius is out selling tdi....vw has to tell the people something to get some idiot to buy their shit.

  • @99gsx4g63t The clean diesel exhaust systems are like any other car. Replacement if necessary, happens in pieces. Like a tailpipe, cat, etc. Do you honestly think that the ENTIRE system would ever have to be replaced?! I phoned two dealerships here and none of them have ever changed an entire system on any TDI VW ever, and nothing has come back at all for the new clean TDI. So it seems that you are talking out of your ass again. No facts, no references, no research just baseless opinions.

  • @ridersinblack1 No facts, no references, no research just baseless opinions? Exactly what you're doing, you're right. If youtube would allow website posts, you'd see exactly what I'm talking about. I never said the entire system being replaced all at one, I just said the wait for the exhaust system needs to be replaced. It's still the same cost, if it's all at once or over years. The clean diesel's are still to new, but just wait...people will find out the hard way.

  • German hate the Japanese, I don't think so? You think Honda loves Toyota? Does any automobile manufacturer really wants to build Toyota level product? Does Mazda wants to build Corolla like cars? Does Renault wants to built Corolla like cars? When you can build genuine automobile, why bother with Toyota that builds appliances. Nissan, Infiniti, Madza are now building BMW/Audi/VW level cars and Toyota are still making Buicks.

  • If the number goal is maximize your fuel economy (assuming you still want to use gas), buy a Prius, but why can't you use public transport? Is it really that green to drive your Prius in crowded city when so many other people take the bus, subway? If you really like driving, do you really have to drive a Prius? Haven't you driven something else? A BMW, Porsche, VW/Audi, Infiniti, Honda? I actually think the Nissan Leaf could be a very fun to drive car with Mini Cooper like handling.

  • Why do Germans hate the Japanese? Are they butthurt like the americans because Toyota is the #1 car selling company in the world? And it will stay like this for a loooong time, no matter how many recalls, Toyota is still turning profits month after month. It seems VW guys are just butthurt because Toyota seems to own them at every turn. Seriously Volkswagen, just learn to deal being at third place behind General Motors and Toyota.

  • @kuhne hey dude...here's a newsflash. Stupid north americans don't understand that diesels have been the dominant cars in europe for decades. Ignorance is bliss right? that's why toyota can trick dummies like you to spend 35k on a compact hatchback just because their "number 1". Hey man...you live in alaska? I got a nice fridge I can sell ya.....

  • @ridersinblack1 Here's a better newsflash, there's not a worst company in USA than VW for dealership service. if you guys love your diesel, go for it, no one is stoping you but last time I checked Europa and America were two different places and owning diesel in the USA right now is not as user friendly as it is in europe.

Either way, the future is electric, that is pretty much obvious, weather the next step are diesel hybrids or not, we'll see.

  • That is because the U.S. government only allows manufacturers to produce a limited number of diesel vehicles. Any vehicle that exceeds that limit incurs a large tax. U.S. car manufacturers have specifically limited this market to trucks because they can make more money on a diesel f350 than they can a diesel focus. If you live in California you can't even purchase a VW TDI. I was told "they produce to many pollutants."

It seems kind of backward that you can buy an f-350 but not a TDI.

  • Like I just said above. The U.S. government only allows manufacturers to produce a limited number of vehicles without incurring penalties. They make more money on trucks than they do hatchbacks, that is why you don't see them. VW does not have a truck market, so they can produce these diesel vehicles no problem.

The fact is most of the cars that are produces by Toyota are not sold in the U.S. I have lived in Asia for two year now and you would not believe what these people drive!

  • EPIC Win.

  • @573W1E6R1FF1N Stop listening to top gear man. Toyota took serious measures to stop producing batteries and recycle every one and that was 2006. The prius is a full five seater family hatchback that gets the consumption figures as a city car. A prius gets the best mileage and CO2 figures IN IT'S CLASS, but not the most economical and at least respect them, they're so complicated yet they never break down. It''s either you understand it or not it's that simple.

  • @toyotaprius79 Hybrids are not the way of the future. Hydrrogen will be.

But for now, cars like Golf bluemotions and Focus ECOnetics make more sense than a Prius or a Insight Hyrbird

  • Jetta will fuck a Prius up,

    you know how the Prius

had a phase were it didnt stop?

well the prius was running away from

a Jetta. thats why the Prius wouldnt stop (:

  • diesels are much better than hybrids.

  • thats cool=)

  • Good to know the ugly prius has some real competition now.

  • Well there goes the clean diesel. I guess Volkswagen wants to sound like a hybrid too. Now they wants to become the world's leading electric car maker

  • Comment removed

  • Diesel is the answer people. And biodiesel needs to be supported more

  • Where are they finding these mint-condition German classics??

  • @blues03 Maybe because they're volkswagen ...

  • @rammstein67350 They also had a 300D on their diesel emissions output check ad.

  • Why would anyone want a Prius when they can buy a car?

  • i love this commercial

  • I love my dad's Jetta

  • first time i seen this my neighbors musta thought i lost my damned mind i was like in face toyata in ur fuckin face diesel power baby yea cleaner than that hybrid trash shit and more power ohhh yeaaaa (tim allen)style hahahahahhaha diesel rules and gas drools

  • @kwaglockman Actually, thats incorrect. The Prius out sells the tdi 4-1.

    TOYOTA > vw

  • @loweredtalon sales doesn't matter. It's quality over quantity, and I'm sorry but the dangerous tin can prius has nothing on the rugid German engineered Jetta Diesel. It's like comparing a cheap backup handgun to H&K..

  • @kwaglockman I own both, a 07 tdi and a 06 Prius. I know exactly what car is better, and it isn't the tdi. dangerous? yes, that would be the tdi. Can't trust it on far trips, can't count on 2 hands how many times I've had it into the dealer. The Prius on the other hand is far more reliable and cheaper to run. My next car will be replacing the tdi with another Prius.

  • @loweredtalon damn, you must have a lemon lol

  • @loweredtalon actually handguns won't work cause you're Canadian ^.^ JKJK, I am too but in the good ol USA. Ontario is a great place. Still Prius blows lol

  • @kwaglockman Prius blows alright...blows the useless german cars away.

Glad the prius doesn't rattle at stop lights, stink (and yes, they still do smell), or cost me a lot of money to keep running. Show me a german car that has over 200,000kms on it with the original, untouched brakes on it still....

  • @loweredtalon I see many 20 year old'ish geramans driving around in my country. Almost all of them have done at least around 500 000 km. Can Prius do that? And they haven't rusted that much even with all the salt bathing on the roads in winter. Also if you use your engine to break and drive like a retarded asshole you can actually make your brakes last forever! And it's proven long time ago that new diesels (the highly economical ones) are much more economical than any hybrid.

  • @xep3haet There are TONS out there that have way over 500,000kms with not a thing done to them. So yes, a Prius CAN do that. Can a german car do that? Again, NOTHING done to them. Here in Canada you won't find any german car thats from the early-mid 90's running that hasn't rusted away. While there are lots of jap and american cars that are. You are also saying you have to TRY to not use the brakes to make them last...the Prius does this on it's own. It was never proven that new diesels are

  • @loweredtalon What? Theres no way. Last time I was up there (August) I saw a ton of rusty jap and Yankee cars. And I live only a couple hrs south of the border..Here it's the opposite. I have NEVER seen a rusted out German car around here. Hell my 92 cabby is a Chicago car and is beautiful..Never garage kept either, AND driven in the winter.

  • @kwaglockman You must be blind or can't tell the cars anymore since they are probably so rusted out, even the badges have fallen off. My neighbor has a 91 Legacy, still looks brand new with 340,000 kms on it, always outside. Never broken down or seen a tow truck. While a buddy I work with has a cabby and it's rear is sitting on the ground. Why? because the shock towers rusted out...along with the rest of the car. You must rust proof you car to keep it in the shape you claim it's in.

  • @loweredtalon I can't believe this crap. Where I am (pretty damn far north too) it's not uncommon see vw's with 500,000 km on them or more, running like a champ. And yes my car is rustproofed from the factory no less, as is about every other vw around here. I see a ton of toyotas that are rusted out. Where I work, most the newer cars in the lot (American and Jap) have more rust than my older vw! Whats the only other car with pretty much no rust??? My boss's BMW.

  • @kwaglockman You can't compare rustproofed to non rustproofed cars then. There are tons of Jap cars running just as well as you say your vw is. I'm much further north then you are, as well as running on that crap roads more often. I'm just telling you what I see.

  • @loweredtalon I'm just saying OVERALL the Jetta is a better car. Looks better, handles better, has a better name even. It's not really a fair comparison. It's obvious this video is based on fuel ecomomy. The prius is for the environmentally concerned, liberals, and grandmas who never change their oil. Jetta is for people woh want stlye and a good handling ride along with being good on gas. Designed by Germans for people who check their fluids monthly.

  • @kwaglockman Are you for real? You make another post a hour later when no reply was given....You are stuck on the old Prius, which would be like comparing a 04 jetta to a 04 Prius, no comparison has ever been done. Nor has a 10 Prius vs 10 jetta. Today's Prius would kill a new jetta though, hands down. Again, I own both a 06 Prius and a 07 tdi jetta, overall the Prius is a nicer ride, WAY better fuel economy (Prius 54mpg vs jetta 42mpg driven in same manner on same roads) and not to mention

  • @loweredtalon the Prius hasn't cost me anything nor asked me for anything with 157,000kms on it....jetta has 100,000kms and needed tires, brakes, gone in for transmission warranty...I could go on but you get it.

  • @xep3haet are more economical, it's been said, but never proven. At the same time, it's been said that hybrids are more economical, but only said never proven. It's also proven that diesels have reached their limit, while hybrid technology is still growing and improving every year. Trust me, the only thing left for diesels are hybrid diesels.

I own both a 07 tdi and a 06 Prius, the Prius WALKS the tdi.

  • @loweredtalon Ok I'm a person who probably won't be able to afford brand new car for the next 10 years at least. Then again: 1. Prius looks like shit. 2. How many years will the batteries last in that car thus cars price in used car market will be pretty low 3. For the price you overpay because of the hybrid technology can buy you so much fuel 4. Hybrid isn't the future with the upcoming oil crisis anyway

About car build quality it's a very arguable discussion too many variables: roads, fuel etc

  • @xep3haet 1) You can't comment on how a car looks, you might not like it but others might. 2) The batteries last as long as the car does. You people need to stop thinking of regular batteries. These are not your typical batteries, nor do they charge in a typical manner. 3) You don't over pay anything. I have a Subaru WRX, did I overpay for the WRX vs the regular Impreza? NO! 4) Hybrid is the future, it's the start of a new generation. Using old technology like diesel isn't going to help us

  • @loweredtalon I was actually reading an article the other day that said diesel had reached it's technical advancement. It stated that the technology could no longer be improved on and the only thing left was to go to diesel hybrids. I'm sure if they started making tdi's into hybrids, all the diesel fans would love hybrids (diesel only ofcourse). It's only because they are currently using gas engines that you get these diesel fanboys that are ignorant towards the hybrid technology.

  • @loweredtalon You are probably right. I'm just so pissed off because I can't afford one. :P But hybrid is not the future. 100% electric car - maybe.

  • @xep3haet Hybrid is the future. You have to think outside of the box. Hybrid doesn't necessarily mean gas and electric. Thats what most peoples problem is, you say electric, but the real answer won't be only one type of power/fuel.

  • @loweredtalon

When hybrids are worth it, I'll get one. Until then, Im good.

  • @foughtwolf and what exactly is "it"....

  • @loweredtalon that is complete BS. If it does rattle it's because it's a diesel...They shake alot...and stink??? How? I love the smell of diesel personally. And yes VW's are high maintainance, but oh well. A good car owner does that anyway. And BTW my Porsche has beaten that brake record :) But who the hell keeps brakes on that long anyway HAHA, that's almost dangerous. Only mechanically dumb people do that often.

  • @kwaglockman So let me get this straight. First you say your porshe has beaten that record, then say 'who keeps brakes on that long anyways'. The Prius can leave them on because it's not using the friction brakes to slow down. You'll be one of the only few that would actually like that stink. Cars are high maintainance, but when I compare what my vw needs vs the Prius, Prius always comes out on top. btw, this is my 3rd vw. I've given them 3 chances and they were all crap, not lemons.

  • @loweredtalon Thank god they were all leases. When this lease is up on the vw I'm getting another Prius.

  • @loweredtalon Well I bet they were newer vw's right? Yeah they are not the best, But if you get a good German made one your opinions will change I bet. Plus I here vw is supposed to be building a new plant in the U.S. which is good. What's your beef anyway are you a troll???

  • @kwaglockman Yes, within the last 10 years. You won't get a german made one here. Mexico or nothing. If they build a plant in the us/Canada then we may see some better quality, but at what price? I'm not a troll, if I was I'd be on a vw forum not youtube...not to mention I wouldn't have one in my garage. Just to many people that spread the wrong things about hybrid's and need to be taught the real truth about them. I'm sure if vw had a hybrid you wouldn't see/hear these things.

  • @loweredtalon Well then it's settled. I would be willing to pay much more for even a us/canadian vw than a mexican one. But they don't seem to realize that. I am comparing this video to German vw's. Which are great cars without a doubt. I'm not sure why vw does not have a hybrid(besides the fact it would be over complicated lol), but I don't see a problem with that. I'm not s hybris fan unless need be. And people farther north are crazy to not rustproof their cars, I know that for a fact.

  • @kwaglockman You can't compare anything we get here to their cars. vw tried a hybrid concept. When it was taken out for a test by a reviewer it broke down due to a electrical problem and I've never heard anymore about it (was a while ago now).

  • Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Skoda, SEAT, Lamborghini, Scania, MAN SE, Suzuki (20%) and Porsche (merging) - these are the brands under veedub!!! and those are great cars!! • @jwpampi Amen!

the car that i drive saves earth more because it uses less fuel

the car that i drive saves earth by not polluting the air, earth and water by making those batteries for hybrid

that car that i drive has been the symbol of peace ^_^v

peace man ^_^v veedub forever - oh i got a jetta hehehe

  • lol my father just buyd a startline tdi t5 multivan and with one tankful he can drive around 1000kilometers lol

  • How dumb you have to be to buy an hybrid? It is proven that hybrids are polluting more, cost more and is a lot more difficult to maintain than a modern diesel engine. TDI engines have proven their performance, reliability and economy for 20 years. Prius isn't a car. Its a shopping trolley with batteries. So, if you want an economical car and still want to keep the driving joy, then just buy an TDI. Hybrids and electric cars are just another big business opportunity.

  • Proof that the technology is already there for better fuel economy, the only problem is these hippies have thier head too far up thier asses to realize this.

  • That pretty much says it all

  • Hey, have you ever seen the advert where theVW driver who is supposed to be following the cyclists (peloton) in a bike race, and filming them,, goes zipping all over the place in the city... and the one commentator gets mad, but the other says: " But my word does he take those corners is such a lovely fashion... " I can't find it anywhere.. Help.

  • I guess we didn't have world records back when the Lupo 3L made 114 miles per gallon. Didn't VW make that too?

  • lmao i love this commercial... love my jetta!

  • YES!!! I have a 2006 Red TDI Jetta. I love that thing. I got 53 mpg the one day and I've never had anything go wrong with it. It's been to hell and back and has more than 95,000 miles on it and yet it still destroys homie cars at red lights. The only thing I had to do recently was change oil and the timing belt. Alittle challenging but hey, who doesn't love a challenge! I <3 my car and would never sell it.

  • Volkswagen is introducing hybrids in the next couple of years. Looks like hybrids have won the war.

"Clean diesel" is a marketing myth perpetrated by VW.

  • @AnUnidentifiedMale no theyy havent you meat head volkswagen is still gonna make the TDI. And even if they make a hybrid it will get alot better gas mileage than any other automaker obviously i mean look their diesels get better mpg than the fuckin hybrids

  • 58MPG???

  • What year beetle is that?

  • dats kewl

  • but that volkswagen doesn't have uncontrollable throttle response....even lambos don't have that.

  • Volkswagon-don't be a pussy, be german!

  • lol i love VW

  • Not only are they having problems with Prius brakes, they are having braking problems in Fusion hybrids too because apparently the braking process is done by a computer chip. Now I've got a computer that makes sure my brakes don't lock up and the weight distribution stays even, and that's about as much computer involvement in my brakes that I want or need.

  • Thats not how it works.

  • If you buy a prius you make a statement that you´ve got no idea about cars! If you want to do something for the enviroment but not making a suicide behind the wheel buy a golf or jetta diesel! If you buy a prius you will damage the enviroment even more. Why? Becouse it take a huge amount of energy and resources to produce this car! Espacially the batteries! They aren´t recycleable, you need to change them every 3 years, you need to ship them and to produce them you need toxic chemicals.

  • @klramon

Exactly man, there's no reason to buy a Prius unless you have no idea what it actually takes to make the car.

  • @klramon Don't forget that the TDI is faster, will last longer, and Prius owners get rid of their cars altogether after 3 years. What do you think happens to all those cars with toxic batteries thrown away. Jetta looks a LOT prettier, too. I want a Jetta TDI!

  • And it is fun to drive and it has better quality and it is more comfortable!

  • Yep. AND it's better on fuel and less in-your-face.

  • And it is cheaper! :)
