So who here has the River Raiders patch? In order to obtain the patch you needed to score at least 35,000 points! Then take a picture of your screen and send it in to Activision.

I had this on a multi cartridge (5 games) back in the day. The cartridge wasn't working and I was getting frustrated (dirty) and was blowing on in and jamming it in there. When I turned it on the menu was surrounded by love hearts and said something like "Jill will you marry me? Bob"

Was very strange.

the shooting got boring after a while. So brothers and i came up with many variations: getting farthest with least shooting and/or within predetermined time, flying at max speed all the time. etc. countless hours of fun. priceless.

I would have laughed at your tapes. I actually had a disk drive for my 800XL. An amazingly gigantic storage capacity of 180K per disk. I remember playing the hell out of F-15 Strike Eagle and Silent Service. (Of course, I played the hell out of River Raid too!)
