when i was 10,or11,we used to climb under the bridges in the city and steal the sqaubs and i would raise them by hand,Dad built me a coop for them and i had about 25 birds,when we moved 5 yrs later,a friend of the family offered to take them(they owned a motel in a small town)they built a new coop and i had to leave my flocki miss those days,ive always wanted to have another set up but i dont think our neighbors would be to keen,i love pigeons

Nice Video, Thanks for sharing your experience with pigeons. Well, I just had to say pigeons are animals that may act like people, it is like your friend that you wanna hug or play. I go to the park every sunday and feed pigeons, they are very friendly, they come to my legs, and start eating like crazy, like they have not eaten in 1 full week. They are really brave too because other pigeons do not come that close to you even if you give them food.

We had one. Actually, we rescued it. We named her Tuffy and her little leg was broken. After we nursed her back to health and her broken leg was usable, we released her, and have been sorry ever since. We loved her so much. And she would've lived longer with us than in the wild.

I don't understand your logic - because there are mass murderers who kill people, that means doves are not innocent? Are doves to blame for the sins of humans? And what relation do doves have with rats? If they're so bad, why do so many people love them, and use them as symbols of peace and purity? And how do they ruin farms?

Genetics was not an issue because their genes were not corrupted by mutations as they are today. Incest is now a problem because of genetics, not because there's something inherently wrong with it.

Why would you want to catch a pigeon? As a pet in your home? I would hope that you would only lure the pigeon to you with food and let the pigeon return the next day on its own. I wouldn't recommend keeping a pigeon as a pet unless it's a rescue.

i definatly agree w u. Humans dont understand how these birds think and feel. people always believe that they dont have feelings but each bird is an individual and wants something everday. these birds show how strong they can be despite the fact that some humans dont believe in them. and that is why i love pigeons because they each so special and different. Everytime i see a new bird i can tell what type of personality it has, from adventerous to just really brave and aware.
