if your convinced McCain supporters are somewhat relieved that Obama is office, take a look at some of the awful comments and videos on youtube about it, their still bitter. u cant convert racism over night the mccain supporters were just simply not ready for change it has nothing to do with the fact that their republicans... And if they wernt ready to change their nation then they wernt ready for change of a new skin color, unfortunately some people are still not ready to open their minds.

I have to disagree. You have a valid point there but I really don't think Maher is a racist. He just fails to understand different cultures, especially middle eastern ones. But I'm totally on Mos Def's side when he said that terrorism is overrated, etc. The problem is that Maher thinks politics can make a change.

it's the misundertanding of cultures that breeds racism...people fear what they don't know about...like when police started using .45 caliber rounds becuase that was "the only thing that could stop a drug crazed negro" during the nation's first cocaine epidemic...intolerance and ignorance are tied together pretty tightly...if you don't understand something, it is only natural to fear it...

but he sure is dogmatic about 9/11. and I'm a healthy skeptic - rather agnostic on conspiracies. It would be nice to hear Bill admit about 9/11 what he admits about religion - that he does not know.

I know what you're saying, and mostly I agree. But Bill is a very skeptical guy in most arenas, which I appreciate, except on this issue, which he is somewhat dogmatic about. I guess it's a pragmatic choice ultimately.
