Very dumb. Youtube should be incapable of propogating computer viruses and if there was an exploit on their site that allowed for that, Google would probably shut down the video and patch the exploit in a heartbeat.

Doing a normal google search could *potentially* get you to a hijacked page, but only if you click "I'm Feeling Lucky" (in which case, you *won't* feel lucky) or browse to one of the links.

If it was because of internet protection, it might be because one of the videos linked to some infected... avg will tell you nodvd cracks and game trainers are ALWAYS viruses, why? because they are technically breaking code in a sense, so avg thinks it is breaking code in a bad way... that and avg might be trying to trick pirates into not pirating.

Also, If you want to know, I am a hacker. I spend probably 99.9 % of my day doing it. But so those at Youtube know, I only hack my computer. There is not even a void in the warranty that says I can't delete viruses manually using those skills, or find out the password to my own internet connection using the latest code-cracking software. So yes, I know a lot about hackers. I know all of them aren't as friendly as me(but still), for most hackers it is only a test, for some it's the newest prank.

I was trying to imply that most hackers don't unless they aren't a hacker( AKA some crazy scumbag who wants to get revenge). It's not that all hackers don't do anything like that, just that they probably aren't a hacker if they infect a website. So you can't expect a hacker every single time. Maybe the website picked up a virus by the server downloading a virus from a site that a stupid employee visited. But most hackers post their viruses on a website. It depends on who you consider a hacker.

Executing a file could be as simple as opening your internet browser, playing a game, or opening a file you downloaded. You can only get a virus from files you downloaded. It is impossible to get a virus just by viewing a page (Unless the page has java extensions [youtube does not], but that can get complicated).
