Mello Yello is one awful-tasting swill, the only Coke product I don't prefer over Pepsi. Being a Coke person, I tried for most of my junior year in HS (when Mello Yello came out) to convince my taste buds that I liked it. To no avail. It has no bite, it tastes half-flat. I guess millions must agree, because you NEVER see it in 20-ouncers, and the 12-pack stack is usually only one carton wide as opposed to the other offerings at most grocery stores, at least here in the Midwest.

@dragonbreathstinks - OMG, I must disagree. I had been hearing for months that Mexican Coke is so wonderful, just like the Coke we drank in the 60s and 70s. So I broke down and bought a few to give'em a try, and they tasted like the awful, barely drinkable Coke I've gotten occasionaly and complained to the bottler about. It tastes like weed-killer, to me. Ugghhh!

I do generally prefer Coke products over Pepsi products, but Mountain Dew and Sierra Mist Natural are good too. I can see why people might like Pepsi products, everyone's different. As Ernest said "Just drink the one you like best."

I've tried both. Mello Yello is by far the best. It has a crisp, citrus taste & strong carbonation; refreshing. Mtn Dew feels flat on the tongue & has a chemical-like after taste. It doesn't smell good either. I don't have 2 drink them 2 tell which 1 is which. Mtn. Dew has a wanky smell. My vote's 4 Mello Yello even before I ever watched these commercials. I was drinking them a couple of yrs before I saw the first Ernest Mello Yello ad. I felt cool that I was drinking what Ernest was drinking.
