I tried liking the game, but multiplayer sucks. Maps are too small and the weapons are too overpowered. I only enjoyed the co-op and single player. All the kids love it because it gets hyped up too much. As for the "3D" thing, I hate it. Just because Avatar made a ton of cash in 3D because they spent years on it and done it right, doesn't mean every other film will get a big pile of cash. Because 3D sucks, and 3D TVs as well they are a waste of money.

Another thing I find is, you mentioned how ps3 and xbox360 owners, do rarely reminisce about their older systems. And that is interesting, most nintendo fans do still own atleast one older gen console and still rave about the games on their nes, snes and 64, I know I do. When it comes down to it, it is about doing the best with what you have, not having the best to work with. The primitive graphics on the 64 in no way hindered the amazing experience we all had with OoT even till this day

Another example is, Dreamworks, constantly taking advantage of 3D animating and 3D movies, whilst Studio Ghibli or more specifically Hayao Miyazaki stays in the traditional 2D art, does the newest 3D technology make it better? I don't think so, whilst a game like CoD has the newest HD graphics trying to be as realistic as it can, a game like Zelda is trying something different, almost every game has different graphics all with a different style that is effective, that make the game beautiful.

Call of Duty is popular for the same reason Twilight is popular. Twilight uses sex as their main selling point, if there were no shirtless muscle guys or sparkling vampires then nobody would care to see them. It's just that one sex element that keeps the series going. Call of Duty uses violence and warfare in a similar way. If it was less gritty and you shoot each other with nerf guns, nobody would play it. Although I agree that would be a stupid game, you get my point.

Well, 3D support is coming to more and more aspects of our everyday lives. The PS3, 360, and 3DS support it, Most TVs nowadays do, and I'm pretty sure the Vita will get an update that will allow it to, along with all the consoles of next generation. Oh, and PC does too.

@AGentertainment I'd say the multiplayer is more of the reason, since every time a new COD game comes out most migrate to the newer game. And if people want to keep up, they'll have to buy it even if the single player never gets touched. If multiplayer patches happened instead of new installations this trend might not be so heavy.

i've played the CoD series since the first game, i actually think it's a fun series of games, i recently finished MW2 and was dissapointed at the ending being way too similar to the first MW one and i was "happy" saying "hey look, it ended the same way" at first bute, meh.

On the other hand i saw reviews of duke nukem forever and all the hate and what not but i actually enjoy it and was a fun game for me (ending sucked), even after reading all the bad reviews.

@AGentertainment because i think that the single player in modern warfare has a better history and the use of scripted sequences really drags you into the game and makes you care about the persons. Where in Battlefield 3, the single player, you go around the corner, shoot someone, then run 20 meter and then there is a cutscene, then you run a bit again, then a cut scene, and the cutscenes between the levels are boring and un-personal. The overuse of cutscenes can really kill a good history.part1

@AGentertainment part 2. Why i prefer battlefield's multiplayer: I like the realism, the teamwork, the large maps, the visuals, the sound design and the way you can kind of feel the weapon. I have nothing against the cod multiplayer, and can also take a small round just for the fun. I just think that the cod multiplayer is getting too unrealistic for my taste. :)

MW3 is nothing special. I own all the COD games, but then again, I own hundreds of a variety of games. I am glad I am not associated with the sheeple that buy it. Black Ops and WAW are better than MW3. Battlefield 3 is better than ALL the COD games.

@AGentertainment Yea TOO many. I feel like I can't complete them all in my lifetime and I have hundreds of games. You need to play Battlefield 3. Don't listen to people who say that it is similar to COD. In reality, they rarely make true military, large scale games like BF3. BF3 should NOT be grouped alongside COD. COD is like a casual unrealistic Quake III Arena style fragfest with a realistic appearing military skin and theme. BF3 is a true military style FPS.
