I grew up with epilepsy as well, but I had a miracle brain surgery about a year ago, and haven't had one since. I don't know if that would be an option for Jillian, but if some of the funds raised could go towards further research of potential cures, including new types of surgeries, lives could be changed in so many ways. Thanks for your example, Jillian! You are a star. :)
I'm 28, I have epilepsy, & will tell ya something this girl like me or anybody w/epilepsy is gonna do just like any other person w/epilepsy-NEVER BACK DOWN, NEVER QUIT! Then all those ignorant no good pieces of scum who can't pull their heads out there rears to see the light of day & learn a lil' something will HOPEFULLY get it-I doubt they will but this girl is gonna do 2 things - 1. Never back down & 2. She's never gonna quit, why? Because people w/epilepsy don't back down or quit-We fight!!!!
My name is Bonnie and I've had epilepsy since I was 10 (I'm 17 now). I've had over 85 generalised seizures since I was diagnosed. About 9 months ago my specialist put me on a new medicine and I've only had 1 seizure so far.
I'm now taking 1000mg of levateracitam (keppra) and 350mg of lamotrogine (lamictal) a day
My name is also Jillian and I had my first seizure at 8 and many more over the years then misdiagnosed until my EEG last month I've been diagnosed with epilepsy my dad an grandpa both have the same thing as me
I've bin having seizures since I was 10 y/o. For a w Now that I am 30 I learned to make them a part of my life. My family now has caught my attacks on video I'm fine with that what I am not fine with is america spending so much money on a meaningless war when it can all be spend on recearch for a cure to so many desisses.
@agentD99 It's the same in England now. Spending billions on the war has crippled our NHS systems. Cutbacks across the board. At the moment medication is free for ppl who qualify but the time is inevitable when we'll all have to pay and anti epileptic care isn't cheap. I developed it at 6 following a severe car crash. 2 brain operations later and 32 years on, nothing's changed but we're all lucky to be alive. We're warriors
poor girl this is so sad i'm only 29 i've been suffering from seizures for the last 2 years, i atleast had a healthy childhood, i hope they can sort this problem we all have nobody deserves to be going through this..
I have had seizures since I was six years old. its dominated my life. Id have died without medication. As far as im concerned anyone who thinks its funny is a hopeless retard. A complete lowlife and not really worth my notice. idiots. Anyhow good on you girl for having the courage to make this video. I hope things improve for you.
@HowdyPeaks what is your problem she never got a choice she is who she is or are you talking about yourself. it's serious and the more normal than you'll ever be.
I can't believe someone would think this is funny. You should really be ashamed of yourself for laughing at this. I never knew anything about seizures and i never thought they were big deals until .. I had one. When you have 1 seizure your 20% to have another one which i did , if you've had 2 your 80% to have another. Now im on medication and my life has changed although i havn't been diagnosed with Epilepsy. It's a hard life so please don't laugh.
wow 2 pills twice a day aim on one a and a half a day i guess its at dif levels for everyone and i dont need ple to walk around to watch me tend to have warnings
My cousin lived with that for seventeen years, then some of her "friends" upset her, made her feel like absolute crap, and she went to bed that day, and rolled on her face, having a grand mal seizure. Died, naturally.
This girl, I feel deeply sympathetic for. Please know that I pray for you and wish you the best. Remember, no video games.
I say games because some of the 90's games had bright flashy colors and quick animations with flashing colors. That can trigger an epeleptic seizure easily. New games don't have as much flashy stuff, but bright lights and explosions are common. Know what sets you off and be wary.
I have epilepsy since 6 years now on. I have been frustrated when it come back to me this year I was expect it cure but it didn't seem work at all. You need to check my video. Let me know if thats epilepsy that I have. I did subscribe you can you subscribe me back. Also Thumb up. Thank you God Bless you
@Superhero402 oh ya i had seizures when i was in like kindergarten when i got to elementary school they stoped for a few years and came back in grade 5 and have been back since. i dont think u can get an answer from someone watching ur video u shld go talk to a doctor i have a doctor i go to every 6 months
@Superhero402 do you have them often? well for me my medz have helped me. i used to get false alarms all the time and it got really annoying but it has not bothered me for a while now. havent had a sezuire in almost a year now well u cld go for consuling have u considered the surgery? i heard there are support groups u can look for one in ur area i was planing on looking for one in mine. goodluck hope it gets better for u
@runrockwater Yes i have them so often more than one. Yes sometimes medz help me a little bit but doctor say will change if its work for me cant be perfect. Acting sometime false alarm its hard for me so my husband want me heal and help me alots mostly time make me calm down and happy together with my husband so special to me, i dont think surgery for me. I have to survive for life and to death go heaven more peace. Good luck to you too take care and hope ur goal better
epilepsy is a reoccurence of seizures. not just one. a person who has one seizure isnt epileptic. if she is having more thatn one(or had) more than one, then yes,she has epilepsy. oh and in a grand mal seizure stiffness is the first phase.
That is great video! I have to stop feeling sorry for myself! I am diagnosed of Learning Disability! I feel sorry for myself is that people are normal not me! Good thing I see the video!
@threedaysgraceloverz you can but theres specific criteria to be a candidate. it's a LOT of testing, like 10 days solid all day every day but if its taking away your life and not letting you be a normal human being, then its worth it. and i dont just mean a small inconvenience-its got to be affecting you in a large way
yo my best friend has had seven just make sure nothing is in their mouth and make sure they cant hurt themselves on anything when they wake up dont let them go anywhere because when they get up they act really startled because their mind is blank it is basically a brain reboot man me and my friend were bike riding he stopped and said yo guy i dont feel right and i said ambulance he said now i called and as i was calling he started shaking and it scared the shit out of me
@salsparda id talk to her, ive had it since i was 9 and im 22 now and i would feel SO much better if people asked me about it rather then be scared about it
I have epilepsy but i cant qualify for brain surgery yet. :..(

Excellent video. One problem though. Epilepsy is not a disease. You can't catch it. Which the word disease implies, It is a disorder.

cant u cure siezures by removing a part of the brain that has the siezures.ive had siezures since age 4
threedaysgraceloverz 2 years ago
50/50 percent chance. Its stupid to do. The best way to cure seizures is MHBOT (Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy) and an anti-seizure med.
homeschool74 2 years ago
@threedaysgraceloverz you can but theres specific criteria to be a candidate. it's a LOT of testing, like 10 days solid all day every day but if its taking away your life and not letting you be a normal human being, then its worth it. and i dont just mean a small inconvenience-its got to be affecting you in a large way

@threedaysgraceloverz some people can. I cannot be a candidate for surgery because the epilepsy triggers through out my whole brain.
