I used to like Metalcore....now I only Trivium...and I don't even listen to them that much. Some of the older Metalcore bands are awesome I definitely agree with the top comment but now it is too boring and generic. And I wish Trivium would switch to real Metal though...They are very talented and they could so pull of Thrash Metal or even just Heavy Metal.

the thing that pisses me off are "emo-ed" and generic metalcore bands like Dead by April, Escape The Fate, Bring Me The Horizon, Asking Alexandria, Attack Attack. Just to give a few examples, the best metalcore bands(which sounded more original) are like Trivium, Shadows Fall, Darkest Hour, Parkway Drive, August Burns Red. Nuff of me babbling, both metalcore and death metal are great genres of metal. It would be so easy if we could just call them metal and get over with it.

Referring to something as a "commercial genre" isn't an insult. You can still maintain artistic integrity whilst becoming "commercial". It's the fact that these are bad imitations of true metal that makes the "core" genres a joke; something you pointed out nicely in your video. Actual footage comparing the two genres or showing pictures of chords for contrast between the two could have made this better though.
Using a hybridization of genres is in no way "plagiarism." Metalcore is a stylistic movment that sounds so great that your mum shit her pants in awe when she heard it. @chimeracaust I see your points, and I know where your are coming from. Although not all of your points are entirely true, yes bands like hatebreed and at the gates are obvioulsy better, but metalcore can be quite complex. It does have solos, especially by bands that are more thrash metal influenced like trivium. The riffs arnt as complex but still needs skill. And about the singing- well thats mainly post-hardcore which people get confused with REAL metalcore.
I'm going to make a new genre of music called, "Dubcore," and see if hundreds of people bitch about it and make childish videos explaining why it sucks.

My favourite bands have a guitar solo nearly in every song, sometimes more than one and sometimes solo harmonies. It takes years to master the guitar to play some of the amazing guitar solos that come out of these songs. It amazes people.
Most Metalcore bands have breakdowns in nearly every song. Open chords muted. I don't mind bands like Trivium but the rest is just horseshit.

I personally don't judge music by skill. But I will admit Metalcore is very mediocre. But to point out flaws from this video, Metalcore was actually mainly influenced by the genre of Hardcore. When Metalcore developed, it had a Hardcore sound and a noticeable influence of it. In the early 90s when Metalcore actually started to develop, it was nicknamed "Metallic Hardcore". The Metallic part was used because it had that type of sound to it and Hardcore because it had that influence.
And breakdowns are way more brutal than solos any day. Solos make a song sound so gay, it makes it sound like a happy party Mexican song. Fucking gay.

the thing that pisses me off are "emo-ed" and generic metalcore bands like Dead by April, Escape The Fate, Bring Me The Horizon, Asking Alexandria, Attack Attack. Just to give a few examples, the best metalcore bands(which sounded more original) are like Trivium, Shadows Fall, Darkest Hour, Parkway Drive, August Burns Red. Nuff of me babbling, both metalcore and death metal are great genres of metal. It would be so easy if we could just call them metal and get over with it.

Referring to something as a "commercial genre" isn't an insult. You can still maintain artistic integrity whilst becoming "commercial". It's the fact that these are bad imitations of true metal that makes the "core" genres a joke; something you pointed out nicely in your video. Actual footage comparing the two genres or showing pictures of chords for contrast between the two could have made this better though.

Although not all of your points are entirely true, yes bands like hatebreed and at the gates are obvioulsy better, but metalcore can be quite complex. It does have solos, especially by bands that are more thrash metal influenced like trivium. The riffs arnt as complex but still needs skill. And about the singing- well thats mainly post-hardcore which people get confused with REAL metalcore.

My favourite bands have a guitar solo nearly in every song, sometimes more than one and sometimes solo harmonies. It takes years to master the guitar to play some of the amazing guitar solos that come out of these songs. It amazes people.
Most Metalcore bands have breakdowns in nearly every song. Open chords muted. I don't mind bands like Trivium but the rest is just horseshit.

I personally don't judge music by skill. But I will admit Metalcore is very mediocre. But to point out flaws from this video, Metalcore was actually mainly influenced by the genre of Hardcore. When Metalcore developed, it had a Hardcore sound and a noticeable influence of it. In the early 90s when Metalcore actually started to develop, it was nicknamed "Metallic Hardcore". The Metallic part was used because it had that type of sound to it and Hardcore because it had that influence.

i dont see why all us lovers of any type of metal hate on each other. its all metal somehow. we should go fuckin hate on REAL CRAP like rap, hip hip and other crap. i listen to death metal but i do like some metalcore thats decent. who gives a fuck?

oh i love this video. i heard some mother fucker say that metalcore was inspired by sepultura, and i said " it was inspired by early melodic death metal, but take away the good vocals adn the good drums, and shit on half the guitar parts, and add breakdwons, thats metal core" haha. oh, and have whiney lyrics.

@TheMetalhead804 Most metalcore and deathcore is not metal, but there are exceptions. Also, just because it's not metal, that doesn't mean that it's bad. Converge is one of the best metalcore bands and they aren't metal.

@LiNaK37 Metalcore like trivium and unearth is metal (not to sure about coverage ive never head them before) but thats cuz trivium and unearth are wrongly labeled as metalcore. All deathcore is metal because deathcore actually has metal in it rather than metalcore which is hardcore + hardrock. Deathcore is deathmetal + hardcore.
