What the fuck happened square enix?!? you used to be the pinnacle of games on the PS1/2 and now your failing at everything. Its not easy to come out with new stuff that satisfies the old and new crowds but anything is better than this garbage. This is nothing but a way WAY over-hyped hack and slash that looks pretty. FFXll was sadly the last ff game i will ever buy and play till the end, so long farewell Final Fantasy. On a side note, im glad to see they brought the card game back though.

i bought the game and been playing it for a week with my friend, frankly the way i see it we are trying sooo hard to convince our selfs that this game is a good game.
Like the makers i guess, i love rpgs and a big fan. This game is for people who love to read and spending lots of houres guessing , running around confused.
If you like fighing a lot DONT BUY this game you will regret it , just getting a quest ,a guild and profession means talking to everyone in town. just seems impossible.
i wish they had more of a FF7 looking online, that would be soo cool, i like the outter world and the towns they had, it really enjoyed it. now the FF online is like the midevil days.
I read the comments and it´s kinda funny how people compare it to X and XII , hey guys, no one ever mentions XI which is the one between 10 and 12, and the funny thing is that this game is like a continuation of 11 , maybe very few people here played 11 because it is kinda old now, I played it when I was in my early 20s now I´m 30 years old lol.
I would wait till I actually played the game 2 crap on it personally. I think it's going 2 be EPIC!! The ability 2 play an FF game with the gaming industrys current potential with a few of your online buddies is priceless. Ive played and beat every FF game in the series including the famicom 2 & 3 later on on my nes emulator. I loved every single game except FFX2 which I threw out my house window .... literally.

@ggsmiles really? personally I think this will own FFXIII, It has a community and is more socially interactive, you travel around the world and can do whatever you want whenever you want, you can hang out/chat with friends or join a party and do a quest, kills monsters, craft items, it seems way more interactive compared to FFXIII where all you could do for the first few chapters is follow along and do as you were told while playing alone and being unable to do stuff with others around the world
@BadBackBeast I actually didn't think FF13 was all that bad but it was substandard for a FF game but then again everying from 10 on has been substandard. I was kinda hoping the game would be epic considering lightining was one of the first few FF heroines I considered powerful.
In my opinion FF would be a lot better without turn based combat,i prefer something more fast paced.I know only FF13 but i guess that all of them are the same.I was looking at gameplay of FF13 and the combat didn't seem epic,just 6 or 7 attacks,no coll effects except the summons,and what an epic boss battle is,if you can't walk around while starring him,waiting for him to make the first move,not just selecting attacks like pokemons.Are we pokemon trainers or action gamers?! @gletro1 well this one is less turn based actually, you can make as many attacks as you want so long as you have the stamina, then by the time you run out you have built up enough TP to unleash a special move capable of dealing out even more damage and after that the battle is either over or close to over, then again I guess it depends on what/who your fighting but still it is less turned based and is all together a great game allready... And it's still in beta! =O
@FESotheFE No doubt that it is less turn based and a very good game(cause it is a mmo),i saw that in the video,but as you said you have stamina and all this,it's not like as fast in combat as the force unleashed.I changed my mind though for FF 13 as for some combat but i don't like that i can't move around while i am in battle.Still,after i finished the game,what i liked(that was the reason to buy it also) was the story,i will never forget such a good story and the feeling that it brings to you.
@gletro1 I agree, it's not as fast paced as alot of games may be but that's just how there games have always been, besides if they changed the style to much it may upset thoughs that have grown to love it over the past couple of years, I think they made the right choice by keeping the same style and then tweaking it to make it seem more fast paced compared to earlier titles, In any case both FFXIII and FFXIV were/are a breath of fresh air for many FF fans including myself.
I also love how the story just has a way of drawing you in, FF has been that sort of game series with a really in-depth and detailed story that keeps you from putting the controller down, it's like a really good book or movie, you want to keep playing so you know what happens next, FFXIII was probably the best example of this, it catches your eye from the very first scene and from their on you can't stop playing, FF has and probably always will be one of my favourite game series out there...

I have NEVER once had a single problem with PSN. Face it PS3 is the way forward, Playstation brand has been consistantly the best since its 1st system came out and has been on top ever since
The part that pisses me off is apparently you have to have bought one of the first batches of FF13 oro you can't even sign up for the PS3 beta. I bought my copy 2 weeks after it came out and missed out on the code. =\

this should be on the 360. microsoft makes the online gaming way better than sony ever did. i have a ps3 so i know what i'm talking about, and i play my 360 online only. so fuck the ps3 version, they shouldn't only do this for the ps3, or pc.
Haven't seen very much of this game, most videos available are crap and don't show you anything about gameplay and combat mechanics. I never really got into any of the older final fantasies but this might change my mind. Just hope its not turn based and not cheesy, then I'll play it.
Well I hope and pray it comes to 360 because having this plus Party chat would be flat out awesome. Would rather play on 360 over PS3 or PC. Not knocking on the PS3 by no means, but I'd prefer talking to my friends on 360. :P.

Does anyone seem to notice that 14 is just about the same as 11? I mean maybe I am wrong but this is upsetting. I was hoping for something new. However, it seems like it's the same damn game with the same slow combat and odd looking races..just better looking. Please tell me I am wrong I had high hopes for the game.
Because the other is old, everyone hates PlayOnline, and they can do more with a new game in terms of creating storyline and game mechanics with a new game. Basically, in my opinion, 11 was their experiment and 14 is the culmination of all the information they gathered from 11.
@Zaiph I agree. I hope they learned from their mistakes, 'cause just like almost everyone else I left FFXI because it was just too difficult to get into/start an HNMLS. Well that and the bots and how the story/expansions kept getting progressively worse. I came back I think once to give the last expansion a try. . . but it wasen't worth my time. I hope the only way this is similiar to WoW is the leveling system, cause WoW just sucks in general.
G4 announced that FF14 will be NOT only exclusive for sony and it may come out for 360 in jan 1st 2011 or somtime when the ff14 comes out, Sony has big hits in xbox 360 also such as "Phantasy Star Universe" so sony did some buisness with microsoft and the sony company say "They may consider other platorms for this FFIV game" the news is everywhere on google, go to google and type FFIV 360 and it will show you alot of info about it :] im hoping it comes out for the 360 too XD
sony cant say what system final fantasy comes out on they have no control over it. Sony doesnt make FF Square-Enix makes it and is the only thing that can decide if they wanna publish it on 360 as well

Anyway, originally this game was destined for 360, however SE and MS have a disagreement over LIVE, with MS saying players will require gold membership and SE not willing to accept that as XI only required silver and I dont think they want to line MS pockets further.
If this is worked out (one way or the other) it'll appear on 360. If not, then sadly no.

Am I the only one thats sees this game for the gimmick it is? Im not trying to bash anyone Im actually a huge FF fan. But I looked at the info on square enix site and literally everything is almost identical to FFXI except better graphics. Its even the same races just with different names. I wasnt too into FFXI either though, but its a sad cop out when they cant even have the creative drive to make different races. I blame Enix.

DUDE what monsters and character detail?! All you have seen is ALPHA build?Are you a part of the beta? I DOUBT IT, The graphics I have seen so far can EASILY run on a 360. My 360 would have no problem running it seeing as it is customized. 11 ran great on mine, AND 11 LOOKED BETTER ON 360 THAN ON PS3! It got the HD for 360 and got a great gfx overhaul. I dont want to turn this into a 360 vs ps3 arguement TECHNOLOGY wise ps3 wins, but they BOTH can run this game. But fan wise 360 wins, not b/c

The part that pisses me off is apparently you have to have bought one of the first batches of FF13 oro you can't even sign up for the PS3 beta. I bought my copy 2 weeks after it came out and missed out on the code. =\

@creaper4231 Yeah they actually announced XII and XIV almost back to back. I heard a rumor that XIV was supposed to be coming out DEC 31. Just a rumor though, never know.

this should be on the 360. microsoft makes the online gaming way better than sony ever did. i have a ps3 so i know what i'm talking about, and i play my 360 online only. so fuck the ps3 version, they shouldn't only do this for the ps3, or pc.

Haven't seen very much of this game, most videos available are crap and don't show you anything about gameplay and combat mechanics. I never really got into any of the older final fantasies but this might change my mind. Just hope its not turn based and not cheesy, then I'll play it.

Well I hope and pray it comes to 360 because having this plus Party chat would be flat out awesome. Would rather play on 360 over PS3 or PC. Not knocking on the PS3 by no means, but I'd prefer talking to my friends on 360. :P.

Does anyone seem to notice that 14 is just about the same as 11? I mean maybe I am wrong but this is upsetting. I was hoping for something new. However, it seems like it's the same damn game with the same slow combat and odd looking races..just better looking. Please tell me I am wrong I had high hopes for the game.

Because the other is old, everyone hates PlayOnline, and they can do more with a new game in terms of creating storyline and game mechanics with a new game. Basically, in my opinion, 11 was their experiment and 14 is the culmination of all the information they gathered from 11.

@Zaiph I agree. I hope they learned from their mistakes, 'cause just like almost everyone else I left FFXI because it was just too difficult to get into/start an HNMLS. Well that and the bots and how the story/expansions kept getting progressively worse. I came back I think once to give the last expansion a try. . . but it wasen't worth my time. I hope the only way this is similiar to WoW is the leveling system, cause WoW just sucks in general.

G4 announced that FF14 will be NOT only exclusive for sony and it may come out for 360 in jan 1st 2011 or somtime when the ff14 comes out, Sony has big hits in xbox 360 also such as "Phantasy Star Universe" so sony did some buisness with microsoft and the sony company say "They may consider other platorms for this FFIV game" the news is everywhere on google, go to google and type FFIV 360 and it will show you alot of info about it :] im hoping it comes out for the 360 too XD

Anyway, originally this game was destined for 360, however SE and MS have a disagreement over LIVE, with MS saying players will require gold membership and SE not willing to accept that as XI only required silver and I dont think they want to line MS pockets further.
If this is worked out (one way or the other) it'll appear on 360. If not, then sadly no.

@Mannypacquia0 well Xbox live is only like $60 a year, this is $12.95 a month which isn't so bad, the only problem now is that they made it so that when you make another Playable character it's an extra $3 a month instead of an extra $1 a month were is the mules are only an etra $1 per month =/ kinda sucks, still, I'm getting this game no matter what =P

@Mannypacquia0 well this isn't even coming out for Xbox 360 though you would need to pay for the PS3 one but even so that's like yearly not monthly, for xbl it's $60 a year and that's for a whole year, that gives you plenty of time to save up for the next year of xbl, same goes for psn, though the best choice is probably just to play on your PC... but if your using the online on Xbox 360 or PS3 than it dosn't really matter cause your not just using it for FFXIV...

Am I the only one thats sees this game for the gimmick it is? Im not trying to bash anyone Im actually a huge FF fan. But I looked at the info on square enix site and literally everything is almost identical to FFXI except better graphics. Its even the same races just with different names. I wasnt too into FFXI either though, but its a sad cop out when they cant even have the creative drive to make different races. I blame Enix.

Your stupid if you think thats true, my 360 is in a well ventilated area WITH a custom ventilation system for the 2 extra HARDDRIVE's and the boosted processor. 360 could run 11 just fine without a problem? I leave the game on overnight for 10+ hours, 360 CAN run this game. 11 was the same way first came out for ps2 and pc than 360 and ps3? So please dont tell me 360 cant run it.

DUDE what monsters and character detail?! All you have seen is ALPHA build?Are you a part of the beta? I DOUBT IT, The graphics I have seen so far can EASILY run on a 360. My 360 would have no problem running it seeing as it is customized. 11 ran great on mine, AND 11 LOOKED BETTER ON 360 THAN ON PS3! It got the HD for 360 and got a great gfx overhaul. I dont want to turn this into a 360 vs ps3 arguement TECHNOLOGY wise ps3 wins, but they BOTH can run this game. But fan wise 360 wins, not b/c

haha get your facts ^^ the ps3 had an update where you could download a patch allowing you to play the ps2 version with better gfx on ps3, and btw stop nit-picking at what I say yes the 360 is more about the experiences, but I DID SAY BOTH systems could run this game.
