  • is this good for playing acdc im after a nice distorted crunchy sound played at medium volume

  • oh god ! that was awsome tone..!

can you please send me the settings of tonelab for the presets that you use at 0.33 and 1.30

    thanks for sharing !

    rock on !

  • Hey really good job on your choice of sound samples. Was one of the lead parts from Chris Tomlin?

  • @anberlin520 No, it's all U2.

  • @thijst Hi

I would like to buy this amp.

What do you think about clean channel in this amp?

I play U2 songs such as: Pride,WTSHNN and a lot of others, I need very clean sounds.

It will be a good choice?

  • @Rafal102able The clean channel is very clean i.e. there is no dirt whatsoever, even at high volumes. Mind you : there are very few U2 songs that have a 100% clean sound. Most have a little edge (*oink*), usually created by the SDD-3000.

  • @thijst generally it will be a good choice for U2 songs?

I ask because I consider to buy liverpool or Vox ac15vr.

  • @Rafal102able Yes, you won't find a better U2 amp in this price range.

  • @thijst thanks a lot for answers !

  • How does this amp suit playing at home? I'm looking for a solid amp mainly for use at home.

  • @Dillyracer It's great for home use because it has a master volume so you can crank up the drive without bringing the walls down.

  • Hi, Im thinking to get the same amp. i just want to know if this will work well with my Line 6 Pod xt live.

  • @noypirin2 It should work well. Unlike the original AC15 you can crank this one up quite loud without breaking up. Just leave the normal volume low and push the master volume up. Of course, this being a full guitar amp means it will colour the sound, so if you want to use the amp models from your POD without the Vox colouring them, you may want to look into a keyboard amp or something.

  • @noypirin2 I have a POD xt live and it works really well with the AC 15 VR. Delay, your MOD or "flange" and your stomp "overdrive" sound really well with the ac 15.

  • thank you for the demo of your pedal board-maybe you can re-name this video to indicate what it really is?

  • hey man, what settings do you have for the sound that you go in at 20 sec? very cool

  • @Yungjo7780 That is a fairly clean AC30 sound, with some phaser and quite heavy delay. The shimmer you hear comes from the Verbzilla in the FX loop.

  • U2 fan??;p

  • Is this amp loud enough to be used for practising with a band without having to mic it up?

  • @beauhollandmusic Absolutely.

  • Hi ! :) I have a question, Can you get a clean sound that is loud enough for rehearsing in a band ? I'm asking this because I have a multi effects pedal Boss Gt-6 that I would use it with ...

  • @loschby46 Absolutely. That's the big advantage over a normal AC15: you can crank it up real loud without breaking up.

  • @thijst Ok. Great ! I'm most probably getting this amp these days. Thanks for your help ! :) And btw, you're really good at playing U2 and getting their guitar sound. Awesome !! Rock on ! :))

  • @thijst Ok. That's all I needed to know. This amp is mine to ! Thanks mate ! And keep on rockin ! You do it great ! :)

  • wow

    you really like U2

    a whole lot

  • What is the second song you are playing? The one with the shimmer effect? its freaking cool!!!!

  • @GibsonRocker1958 it's the intro to U2's "The Fly", as played live during the Elevation tour.

  • @milesscunthorpe That's correct, which is why I recorded another clip without any effects.

  • how loud can this amp really get

  • @joshroman9 Pretty loud. Enough for rehearsals and small gigs.

  • Great setup! I'm thinking that this is the amp for me, with my Tonelab ST. Does this amp have a headphone jack? I couldn't find any info on the Vox site, so I'm guessing it doesn't. Great vid!

  • @dmunro91 no headphone jack

  • does shimmer come from tonelab ?

  • @Trecool333 no shimmer comes from a Line 6 Verbzilla pedal, in the TL's effect loop.

  • what sort of speaker has it got?

  • @thephantomsguest 1x 12", 8 Ohm VX12 Celestion custom speaker

  • Woah!! I was waiting for you to join in with the 'recording' at the beginning.. Thought it was the song playing. I don't want to copy Edge, but it sounds great to me!!

  • is this ac15vr as loud as the regular ac15c1 or ac15?

  • @fenderilize hmm... I'd have to an A/B comparison to confirm that but what I can say is that the VR is loud enough to stand up in a pub gig. Personally I never gig without mic'ing my amps so it doesn't really matter to me; I could gig with an AC4 if I had to.

  • nice sounds, what's the difference between solid state and tube amps?

  • excelente alternativa very blessinggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg

  • Sounds gorgeous!

  • wow this guy plays a bit of some old U2... good amp.

  • @bnchase112

Settings will play a large roll in this, but the high-end on an AC30 is unique. Don't expect this AC15VR to sound indentical to that. It sounds good, it has that Vox-thing going on ... try one in a shop and see for yourself.

  • Someone please help is the distortion between the ac30vr and the ac15vr the same? I want to get one and i need the one with the best distortion range. Please help.

  • Question, are you using the Tonelab modeling with the amp or just using the effects?

  • Amp modeling was on. When gigging I always use just my Tonelab, straight into the P/A, so all my sounds are set up including amp modeling (AC30TB mostly).

  • You KICK ASS for playing Unforgettable Fire.

  • Wow... Was considering trading in my Line 6 Vetta II for the 30 Watt version... Might have to throw in the Tonelab as well... That tone sounded amazing man!!!

  • How did you get that sound of strings playing during sunday bloody sunday??also this..or a marshall MG101??

  • The "strings" come from a Line6 Verbzilla pedal - you can see it to the left of the Tonelab LE.

  • Great video. Is this amp loud enough to play with a band, or is it only for practice at home?

  • Definitely loud enough for a band. It will do fine at small gigs as well.

  • Yes pretty please post a vid of just the amp sounds on thier own also with maybe a little better view of the amp itself.

  • Make a vid without LE.

  • If you ask nicely, I may do that :P

You're right though; I'll see if I can make a clip just guitar>amp so you can hear better what the amp sounds like.

  • That was my thought as well. Le is colouring the sound. So make one without it, please :D

  • I can't decide between the Vox Ac15Vr and the Laney cub 10... the laney is full tube, but the vox seems more versatile... it's hard to decide without actually trying them...

  • @gerbilho

It definitely sounds more tube than solidstate. Go to a store and try it yourself, you'll be convinced.

  • Stores in my area don't have this amp... so I can't try it. Shame... but you're one more person saying this amp is great, I'm starting to believe it really is!

  • Hi. Does this amp have the typical tube sound? Or does it sound more like a solid state amp?

I like the sound but never tried one

    Thanks

  • Not bad thijs!!

  • You say it's loud, but is it as loud as a full tube ac15? I might well buy this amp but I'll need it for small gigs. Do you think it's got enough juice?

  • The classic AC15 is loud but it will inevitably break up at higher volumes - this is what people refer to as the classic Vox tone.

This amp, the VR, will go just as loud and it will also stay clean if you want. It's a much more flexible amp than the classic version. It has 2 channels and can stay clean all the way up, but it can also produce more drive than the classic amp.

In short: more than enough juice for small gigs.

  • nice man! mooie amp ;)

held op sokken ^^ je was zeker alleen thuis of niet ^^

katten ook gillent het huis uit gerend :P

    maar even zonder dollen

    wel nice ^^

    zeker wel :O

  • Haha nee kinderen lagen boven te slapen ...

  • Do you recommend this amp?

  • @akiad

Absolutely. Of course, it's not a full-tube traditional AC15 but for the money you won't find much better. It's a great amp, very loud, has a convincing Vox tone, and is quite portable at around 15 kgs.
