Now THIS is epic neo-prog! Just discovered this band and am enjoying immensely their latest album "Frequency", fantastic from start to finish. Would love to see these guys live.
During the 7/8 part, i find it interesting that they throw in them extra 2 eighth beats every 2 out of 4 measures (the part around 3:28 & 6:44). When i 1st noticed this, i couldn't help but question its necessity (considering that the melody can be played all in 7/8, without losing any of its notes). It just seemed more complex than necessary (Which is odd for this band -They normally only make the melodies as rhythmically complex as its notes call for). I think it's growing on me though.
Hey... with a name like IQ, they're almost advertising the option of making such prog comments!! The only thing, that i'm wondering about, is just how many beers Mike Holmes is going to have chugged before reading all of this prog nonsense : p
You will find all you need on amazon. You can order from Amazon france or uk if you don't find it in the US. All there albums are good/excellent except maybe the Nomzamo-sitting comfortably period (different singer/ more pop style)
YOu can buy their products through Giant Electic Pea, a compnany owned by their ex-keyboardist, Martin Orford.
Or you can wait until 3RP and you can buy their music directly from the band. You will even be able to get it signed if you watch the merch table closely.
c'ero anch'io a quel concerto, vengo anche inquadrato per qualche secondo, ero di fianco al giovane che l'ha ripreso con una piccola fotocamera. grandi iq:
I first saw IQ at the Burg Herzberg Festival in Hessen and they were fantastic! Then i have been in Aschaffenburg and saw them on their Prog save the Queen Tour... It was such a funny birthday concert with balloons and banners and stuff... great experience!
7 personns who pressed 'thum down' button must be my neighboors !!! I forgot to stop the speakers while listening though with earphones...

how can you say nonzamo was pop ??? ffs ! have you listened, i mean really listened to those songs ?

I am a fan of Nomzamo, and I'll be the first to admit it is pop. Stilly a little proggy, but most definetly pop.

Horrible sound, but excellent band.
I've been into them since "Tales from the Lush Attic" and "The Wake".

Early Genesis copyists. Marillion do it so much better.

Marillion turned into a cock rock band when FISH left! IQ have always stayed true to their neo progressive sound and remarkable songwriting!
