I hope he makes another update so that we can know how things are going, but to complain about an insult you perceived from his second video is a little childish. Did you give him your support expecting a thank you, I don't think so, I didn't. I gave it because that boy needed support and I know how he felt at the time.
@stephenturner2412 That would be nice, it would be nice to know that he's *actually* okay (I believe he is, or in the case that he isn't, he shouldn't be acting like a little bitch to his viewers). But enough time has gone by that I don't really care about the issue anymore.
@IchWerdeSterben111 I think he was just happy for the change in his life, he is stil a teenager and if it came across as an insult to you then you should get over it and be happy for him.
@stephenturner2412 At that age, if I had the wherewithal and resources to make such a touching video appealing to the public about verbal abuse, I (as well as I should hope others) would know better than to later make a sarcastic-sounding followup video that unfortunately appeared to undermine my first video. But as I've said, the issue's over with now, he's had his little 15, and we're talking about other, actual problems.
@IchWerdeSterben111 Thankfully technology has gotten much better in recent years but it doesn't matter, the courage to make it does. I don't feel that the second video was sarcastic or undermining to the message in his first video. It simply was made to show that life gets better. The issue is not over and it never will be, as you said both parties should be respectful and that includes us as viewers. You have your opinion, that doesn't mean you are wholey right.
@stephenturner2412 I think an overwhelming majority of viewers were respectful (who he later disrespected, but I'm getting so utterly tired of this little brat that thinking about this issue now is just distasteful).
Obviously that doesn't mean I'm wholly right. Your opinion doesn't mean you're wholly right, either. Thank god in heaven we live in a society where opinions don't signify superior judgement and wholly correctness over everyone else.
I just wanted to say that I saw both his videos, and left a few comments on both of them defending Jonah. As older homosexual men we know that time and opinions change.
Personally I haven't noticed a trend of "whining" from the younger generations.
I think that the difference betweeen his two videos in that four month period is down to his "What's going on" video going viral obviously went all over his school and woke his classmates up to the effects of their actions.
@stephenturner2412 Thanks for your observation, however, having just graduated from high school and having been involved in several GSAs as a homosexual myself, I've noticed undue whining and self-victimization to an unbelievable degree. I'm not talking about kids who have legitimate problems, more so kids who *think* they have problems then disrespect the people who help them, later.
Your a douche. He only posted one video. Look at the original account and check your facts. Once again, your a douche. If you want to hate on Johna, I understand, but your a douche.
@MulePostMedia I don't hate him, I just get nervous of the way kids are getting a red carpet to walk on and a pat on the back for, frankly, acting bratty and attention-seeking. It's not him, it's the trend. I might be a douche but I feel like I have a point.
@MulePostMedia And although I appreciate your feedback, it is generally accepted that he was seen in two videos. Oh well. Again, it's not so much Jonah himself who bothered me, it's the trend among young people who feel they'd like to be victims too. This takes away from people who have legitimate problems, the kind that don't take "four months" to recover so radically from.
No, because I didnt repsonde to his video like you did. He made this original video at a time that was very dark for him back in august and the video just went viral a week ago. My boyfriend and I both took the time to video him and we both dont take it back and we both dont htink it was a "slap in the face" he was just saying how he has friends now and no one hates him. I guess being an open gay man, I understand how time changes your life when you come out and live the life you want. :)
@Couver87 Well as a homosexual myself, I am no stranger to that feeling that you're talking about. But I also understand the crucial need to make sure I maintained my respect for people who supported and helped me, if I ever needed it (whether it related to issues of sexuality or bullying or not). Yes, I realize he's young, I suppose it's more of a trend I'm seeing that worries me, rather than this actual incident itself.
@Couver87 Even intelligent homosexual men I've spoken to, including one who used to run at gay-straight alliance at my highschool, have admitted noticing lots of attention-seeking kids whose whines masquerade as victimization. I'm not the only one who's noticed this lately.
