  • how big is the pump that comes with the media reactor?

  • @puck126 It's a small pump. Maybe 2"x3".

  • How loud is the included pump? My tank is right next to my bed so I want to make sure it won't be too loud!

    Thanks. :D

  • @AJY710 It's a very quite pump. I would say no louder than the stock pumps in the overflow.

  • You want to turn the flow down ever so slightly. The ROWAphos shouldn't be jumping at the top so much. This will cause some of the ferric hydroxide to turn into dust and be released into your tank. You want it to look more like a rolling boil but nut with media jumping up like that. Good luck!

  • @bencae Thanks for the feedback my friend. Happy reefing.

  • Great video! Beautiful product, i just bought a two little fishy 150 phosban reactor, its not pretty as the one you got but it sure do the job. also i didn't know you can mix rowa with cabon together ! Thanks....

  • Great vid!

  • awsome video thanks, one quick question? i went and bought the Via aqua poly reactor for multi media, i want to use Rowa phos and activated carbon together in the reactor, i thought you said thats what you were doing. so where do you put the activated charcol in the reactor???? do you first put it in and then put the Rowa phos on top of it? that makes sence to me but i just want to make sure? thanks again and hope to hear form you soon

    Happy reefin!

  • @7051kevin Thanks for the props! I do successfully use both activated carbon and Rowaphos in the same reactor, and you are right on the money. I stack them, carbon on the bottom and Rowaphos on top. Just remember to let the Rowaphos and the carbon “bleed out” first. I do this with a bucket full of new salt water. You can put the Rowaphos in “raw” but it makes the water a brown color. Let me know if you need help with anything. Happy Reefiin!

  • mouth watering :)

  • You are 100% correct on the Vortech pump. It’s the MP10 (ECO Smart) and worth EVERY PENNY! I had no idea that it would make such a difference. It’s has so many modes it will blow your mind. It truly makes your aquarium move like a wave. I have a video of a green bubble tip look at that video and see how that thing moves it the wave action. I like the fact that I can program it to turn at a very low speed at night. Without a doubt it’s one of the best purchases I have made for my system.

  • Thanks for the feedback. The MR1 is truly a great reactor. I noticed that my phosphates have gone to ZERO! And it looks good too! I’m sure you will not be disappointed. No phosphates should clear your algae problem up.

  • great video,,, I just purchased the next reef complete kit from MD like you. I will be getting it today man I cant wait I hear so many great things about this reactor.

I had a bad green hair bloom, I have it under control since I have r/o top off system but still phosphates still sneak back in to my system I know this reactor will eliminate that problem. I notice your wave maker the vortech I think its called, how do you like it? That is my next purchase in the near future.
