never understood the card counting ... OK, +1, -1, 0 is easy, allright ... but how can he know what to bet with a stupid number like for ex. +15 ?? :S

@HusaMajstor If the count is high, like +15 then statistically that means that there are more high valued cards (10 - A) left in the deck, increasing his odds of getting a strong hand on the draw, and a better chance of the dealer going over. So basically when the true count is over 10 or so, he will bet large and use "Basic Strategy" to help him win a majority of the hands. When the true count drops below say +10 or +8 he would leave the table or bet the minimum.

Its a lot harder to keep track of the count when you have a six deck shoe against you. The odds against you are now 6 - 1 plus the count, which you have to subtract for the six deck shoe, which then in turns makes it impossible to win. Good movie though

@oceansdoor not true, the odds against you do not change significantly when the house adds more decks, you simply divide the count by the number of decks in play to get the true count. the odds stay the same, it just takes longer to get to a count where you can feel reasonably safe to bet

@oceansdoor uhhh...its in the casinos favor dude....every time. they due certain things like standing on 17 to make it over 50% in their favor. the longer you play the longer you lose. Poker is the best game to play in a casino because you never play the house :) p.s. i was a bj dealer for a few years(pitch and shoe)
