I love how the fan who was filming this for us did so well to keep to keep silent the whole time, but simply could not contain himself over #3000 being a homerun. (I bet, had it been a single, he would have kept quiet). Derek Jeter is now the only player in major league baseball history to hit #3000 with a homer while still a player with the same team he got his first hit with. (P.S. The only other player to homer for #3000 was Wade Boggs, who hit for three different teams)
