A very underrated singer. This aria isn't just well-sung, but moving and touching. A perfect blend of a wonderful timbre and voice along with intelligent, heart-felt interpretation.

@LadyRavenhaire - I agree with every word. Underrated, yes. And the fact that the scope of his activity was very forcefully narrowed down doesn't help. For some people, the movie hits he sang overshadow the fact that he had done 40+ operatic parts for Berlin radio - he was a craftsman in the best and truest sense of the word... As for this aria, he made me rediscover it. When I heard him singing it for the 1st time, it felt like smth totally different from the 'Non piangere's I'd heard before.
