I have recently just become interested in Buddhism, and really want to get more into meditating. After watching a documentary, My Reincarnation, about a man’s journey becoming a Dzogchen master, I was really inspired to find out all that I could about Buddhism. I found the film to be very motivating and moving, and I strongly suggest it! bitly . com / s5zU ze? r=bb
Jesus is alive. He divided divided our time with a new era. Now we have real hope. He can divide your history too. After Jesus you will have eternal life and love. The grave is empty. John 3:16 says: "for God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him, shall not perish, but have eternal life."
Jesus is the path. People who "follow science" or other paths, refusing the knowledge of God, who sent his only son to save us from eternal condemnation, refusing the knowledge about his son, and all the historical events that occurred to proof who he is, are giving their back to the real knowledge. Jesus complied all the prophecies about him to the smallest detail. These prophecies were given hundred years before he came, and are historical facts that are deliberately ignored.
Buddha is not politics. please don't mix it up with words communism or capitalism. It is a path, direction , method, practice and understanding. if you want to know more go and do your research.
Ive been meditating and tryin to balance my mind for a few months now. I try and do this before i go to bed n in my free time, especially after a stressful day working. It makes me feel happy again, it took me at least 2 months to start understanding whats its all about and im still learning how to focus on clearin my mind but it does take time. Its made me more patient and loving about 'all that is'. Its great being all alone in ur mind away from stress and society..helps u in the real world
@Suwai0303 That's one thing that really stands in my way of riding the ego. I get alot of thoughts about impressing others with my abilities lol I think I've given up though
@jonoce633 Well, I do not feel that it is possible to get rid of ego whether you're the Dalai Lama or a guy that works at Target. It's about being committed to not being egoistic, recognizing when you're being egoistic, and choosing to not be or do or say something egoistic after you caught yourself. This is an every day, life long practice... Trying to impress other is more of a reflection of your insecurities - not ego.
HAHA and America always likes to be bigger and better than everyone els and its killing its own people with food by not teaching them when to say (thats enough).
This was such a fascinating documentary. I had recently began my practice when it aired. Maybe a year prior. This was extremely helpful and answered some questions that I had. Thanks for posting!
Can I, dear monks, put you on my workplace with much stress and conflicts to see how balanced you will be? Tell me if you are enlightened - what is nirvana and how many types of nirvana exist and how do we get there - because nirvana is not what you claim it to be! I am not against your practices - but they will end at the end of your lives and you will NOT get into nirvana - believe me.Happy meditation!!
If majority of people all over the world would do Buddhist meditation, I guarantee that many of the social problems of the world such as violence and conflict would be solved.
Jellywaxfound- Nepal was never a part of India..neither it ever wants to be.. Get the right facts. Nepal is the country that British could not rule.., and you talking about Nepal to be a part of India!!!
@Beenugr8 u dont know anything about indian caste system, nepal never had caste system."shakya" was a tribe not a class.he was the prince of "shakyas".go to school please and study again.

Buddha requires a strong mind and meditation. Is it exclusive to those strong enough in mind to develop it? If so, that is egoistic, judgmental and selective.
Buddhism is cool, but living like one of those monks seems a lot like being a walking corpse. Like I said, its cool - having their techniques for calming and understanding oneself would be indispensable. But living an entire life like that? Encouraging an entire nation to live like that? No thanks.
Any country whose people sat around and meditated all day would just be invaded and decimated anyway. (read: tibet)
@tehflambo Sad you only see the world as conquer or be counquered.....there is always a middle ground. Does being "busy" (aka not sitting around all day) equate to happiness? Ask your self that.....and then ask yourself again....
@tehflambo The fact that ignorance exists in the world should not disuade us from seeking wisdom. True, a nation must be prepared to defend itself. But a society where the people were mindful, compassionate, disciplined, would be infinitely better than the kind of society we see so often today. And you're right, that the monastic path isn't for everyone, but you don't have to be a monk to follow the Dharma.
Authentic Buddhism is in direct opposition to the capitalist, consumerist, techno-worship lifestyle that has seduced most people. Authentic Buddhists seek to live without harming other beings, without being enslaved by marketing-induced desires, without chasing phantom pleasures. @IbrownrussianbearI Buddhism is an egalitarian faith that de-emphasizes material wealth, so yes, it's not capitalistic at all. But it's not communistic either, as there is no call for an uprising for the workers, no call for a government to regular everything...there is an only an appeal to the individual conscious to find happiness and treat others with compassion. Buddhism defies modern political categories.

@sscharania Agreed! There are many ways to do the same thing. I don't understand why some would belittle others just because they think or act differently.
People completely misunderstand renunciation. Living like a monk is just as difficult if not more so then living anywhere else. If there is happiness it is not for living a simpler life. It is commiting to cultivate a simpler mind. you don't need to go to a monastery for that. Plenty of people live very simple lives and are bitter and angry at the world. The mind is the source of all bliss and all pain.

@jellywaxfound well, jellywax. the india that you know today was only born after tha partition. during the time of the buddha the concept of india or the india that you see today did not exist. Or are you trying to imply that the whole of south asia was and is India? now that's funny. during the Buddha's age, south asia was a cluster of many kingdoms. even the Buddha's kingdom was only a part of the great cluster of kingdoms.
@reality480 Hey! My bad! I wasn't trying to say Buddha spoke hindi. I was just trying to tell MrRajachyut that he shouldn't forget the fact that Nepal was a part of India and he shouldn't be ashamed of it.. So, I would like to say I have no rights to talk about this and shall keep my mouth shut :) Sorry again!
@jellywaxfound Buddha was indian."ARYAN" ethnic group and thats why he was a "kshtriya"(warrior class sage). His fathers kingdom was in foothold of himalayas. Its where her mother had the dream of an elephant. She went to nepal when he was ready to birth.ANd Budhha speaked sanskrit.HIs mantras are all in sanskrit.
Buddhism was written down in PALI about 500 years after its death,It was passed down by disciplic succession.

Just that I didn't like the other dude saying that Nepalis are ashamed of mentioning that they were a part of india before. Now what counts more is that, Buddha was an Indian :) Thank you :)
@reality480 you are correct in the sense that modern India came to be in 1947. But even in Buddha's time, the concept of India (Bharat varsha) existed and though the land was divided among many kingdoms (like it is currently, into many federated states), the ethos and nature of society in all those lands was common, and it was Hindu. Thus, when the Muslim invaders saw this land and the people residing there, they simply called all of them by one name, Hindustan...the land of Hindus.
@jellywaxfound are you trying to imply that the Buddha spoke "Hindi" like most Indians do today. sorry but the dialect he used was Pali. speak in terms of the present. Buddha was born in Nepal, got Enlightenment in India and Died in India. now that fair and unprejudiced.

Jesus learned from hinduism and buddhism google:jesus went to india
Jesus learned from hinduism and buddhism? get a life dude. don't just cite sources to make your case. make sure your sources are credible. your arguments concerning the buddha and jesus is like the one on genghis khan made by white supremacist called Karl Earlson who is caliming that Genghis Khan was a blue eyed, white Nordic person. Google genghis khan karl earlson. i have a strong abhorrence for propagandists like you.
@DarkPhychic there seems to be some truth in this idea of jesus' religious training in kashmir and india. kashmir was supposed to be the home to the lost '10 'lost tribes.' the place names of kashmir have a large number of hebrew place names.
My experience with buddhist monks in a monastery was that they were just as screwed up (in some cases more) than everyone else. I have heard the same thing from trappists who were monks: the monastery is not an escape from the world unfortunately - although it is quieter there.
I think the ONLY way to true happiness and utter bliss is to completely renounce our Western way of life and live like these monks away from all the maddness of people and society. Otherwise, happiness and bliss are almost impossible to attain at a signifcant and constant level. Unfortunately, none of us are willing to completely change and renounce our way of life (We are scared?), and therefore we are destined to continue being filled with grief, stress, anger, etc.
@atltom58 I am, too. Meditation is awesome. And I like hearing and learning how other meditators describe their experience in meditation and how they meditate. I already learned a lot by watching this vid.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
When U look at these people, just meditating their life away, one really wonders what they really get out of living in the first place. What do these people actually accomplish in life? They're just vegetables sitting there like potted plants. If all Society was like Buddhists, nothing would ever be built, no one would grow the food, they'd starve to death there on a dirt floor, naked, since no one would have built the house or make the clothing. Buddhists are truly cop-outs of Life & of living.
they grow their own food, and i would wager that they make their own clothes. they achieve happiness, that is their accomplishment. they do not waste their lives struggling for unattainable goals such as americans do. they are content with what they have and work for what they need, these are model human beings.
@roidrage11 Why would you single out Americans for their material need? Do you think all Americans want the same thing and believe the same faith? It is a cycle of misunderstand that you should stop. Did the Buddha said you have to do things exactly as the way he did?
@roidrage11 There are Americans who are Buddhist. There are Americans who are not Buddhist that don't waste their lives. Nothing is ever cut in stone, black and white, this is this and that is that.
@roidrage11 what you may see as an unattainable goal, others my see as a opportunity. one major part of being Buddhist is finding inner peace and happiness for yourself, not judging others for how they live there lives and how they persue happiness.
@roidrage 100% agreed. Might I add that a true Buddha (or Buddhist as many call them) will never pick on any religion, claim one religion higher than the other, or hold grudges or biases against any religion. They realize that a true religion would not include such disgusting, unequal, unfair views. A true religion or religious person would be open to the greatness and compassion and love that any true religion would teach. Its like unlimited ways, different words of acheiving the same thing.
@roidrage11 Americans? Making broad generalizations is ignorance. Many Americans seek the simple life and much of the world lives in a restless Capitalist society too. We are all seeking the path.
Your interpretation of what it means to live and be living is completely different than what someone else might think. Let Buddhists live their lives as they see fit and mind your own business. Many "christians" sit on their asses all day getting fat and collecting welfare. Which is worse?
@NDiesel31 If you are a true Buddhist, you will not think less of others just because their different ways of thinking. Your job as a buddhist is to spread the way of enlightenment. There is no such thing as absolute truth. I believe Christians have their own way of achieving their goals: through sacrifice, compassion, and love. Are christians the only people collecting welfare? Have you forgotten that monks aren't supposed to cook their own food, but beg for it?
@JixMa You seriously think that nothing would ever be built?
Just because they meditate doesn't mean they can't build a house. Just because they meditate doesn't mean they do it 24/7. Man you're dense.
If the whole world were Buddhists, I can tell you life would be much simpler, but there wouldn't be as much killings. Buddhism is one religion that doesn't hate on other religions. Look at almost any other religion and all you see is a history of bloodshed.
@JixMa Well what are we doing otherwise? The rest of us are just playing this endless game of trying to achieve a higher societal status with the end goal of gaining power, building egos, and having more material goods. All of which sprouts from directly from greed and envy.
Instead of going through the futility of trying to sate our greed and envy, it would be much simpler and more effective to deal with them directly through logic and meditation. We don't need to be monks to do that.
Wow I loved this video!

@reality480 sorry dude,He speak sanskrit.Pali came around 2000 years before.
His mantras are all in sanskrit.

@DarkPhychic

MrWeltschmerz 1 year ago
I think the ONLY way to true happiness and utter bliss is to completely renounce our Western way of life and live like these monks away from all the maddness of people and society. Otherwise, happiness and bliss are almost impossible to attain at a signifcant and constant level. Unfortunately, none of us are willing to completely change and renounce our way of life (We are scared?), and therefore we are destined to continue being filled with grief, stress, anger, etc.

JixMa 1 year ago
they grow their own food, and i would wager that they make their own clothes. they achieve happiness, that is their accomplishment. they do not waste their lives struggling for unattainable goals such as americans do. they are content with what they have and work for what they need, these are model human beings.

That was very well stated roidrage11. Maybe your name is deceiving? :)

@roidrage11 Why would you single out Americans for their material need? Do you think all Americans want the same thing and believe the same faith? It is a cycle of misunderstand that you should stop. Did the Buddha said you have to do things exactly as the way he did?
uniterscron 1 year ago
@roidrage11 There are Americans who are Buddhist. There are Americans who are not Buddhist that don't waste their lives. Nothing is ever cut in stone, black and white, this is this and that is that.
0Eonomine0 1 year ago

Its like unlimited ways, different words of acheiving the same thing.
youngs1ncere 9 months ago
@roidrage11 Americans? Making broad generalizations is ignorance. Many Americans seek the simple life and much of the world lives in a restless Capitalist society too. We are all seeking the path.

Your interpretation of what it means to live and be living is completely different than what someone else might think. Let Buddhists live their lives as they see fit and mind your own business. Many "christians" sit on their asses all day getting fat and collecting welfare. Which is worse?
NDiesel31 1 year ago 29
@NDiesel31 If you are a true Buddhist, you will not think less of others just because their different ways of thinking. Your job as a buddhist is to spread the way of enlightenment. There is no such thing as absolute truth. I believe Christians have their own way of achieving their goals: through sacrifice, compassion, and love. Are christians the only people collecting welfare? Have you forgotten that monks aren't supposed to cook their own food, but beg for it?
uniterscron 1 year ago
@JixMa You seriously think that nothing would ever be built?
Just because they meditate doesn't mean they can't build a house. Just because they meditate doesn't mean they do it 24/7. Man you're dense.
If the whole world were Buddhists, I can tell you life would be much simpler, but there wouldn't be as much killings. Buddhism is one religion that doesn't hate on other religions. Look at almost any other religion and all you see is a history of bloodshed.
You need to get out more.
stubaru 1 year ago
@JixMa Well what are we doing otherwise? The rest of us are just playing this endless game of trying to achieve a higher societal status with the end goal of gaining power, building egos, and having more material goods. All of which sprouts from directly from greed and envy.
Instead of going through the futility of trying to sate our greed and envy, it would be much simpler and more effective to deal with them directly through logic and meditation. We don't need to be monks to do that.
