I don't think this fake friendship can work. It's not even a friendship, it's a monetary relationship between a state and an army. Friendships grow with similar cultures, mutual interests and most importantly mutual respect. Americans (an overwhelming majority) think of Pakistanis as terrorists and beggars. Perceptions can't change until nature of relationship changes. And that too organically, not by some artificial collaboration between few elites.

@swajidraza On the flip side, the majority of Pakistanis see Americans as selfish, sadistic and morally repulsive elites. It takes two to tango. Also, this is a start. at least they're contributing somehow. The cultural exchange of music is rich as always. I remember NFAK and Peter Gabriel. People always manage to show that humanity is greater than any border, any war.
