  • Hate to break it to you, but your statement of the french not being able to make 'blue jeans' is pretty ignorant. Blue Jeans derrived from 'bleu de Gênes' (Genoa), whereas 'de Nîmes' became denim. So both fabric and colour are essentially French.

  • a pink shirt and green tie is the ultimate preppy combination!

  • Would look better with a white or blue shirt. Nothing against pink, but that strong pink doesn't work with the tweed coat.

  • Sid Mashburn = douchebag

    Lapo Elkann = douchebag

  • I LOVE THIS CHANNEL. THANKS FOR THE NEW TIPS.

  • Hey people we don't give a shit about where was the jean/denim or whatever was invented. Wherever it was, it was not thanks to us, so let's shut up and talk about style, which is why that video is about.

Let's be usefull instead of being angry.

  • @cocorobix You are very right. The angry people who're just here to argue are very, very wrong. Sadly, there's a lot more of them.

  • The jacket is not bad, the shirt is OK, the tie would be excellent if he had tied it better, but from the waist down this guy is just a disaster.

  • LOL, this dude is a hick with style.

  • There's a lot of handmovement here. Didn't listen to much of what he said but i get the message loud and clear: BUY STUFF!

  • Love Sid - the shoes - I believe they're his Peluso loafers - you can shop him on Taigan.com now

    Pure style, Sid!

  • Which brand is it on Sid's shoes?? I have to know! :)

  • @holofredde, I believe they're his own brand, SId Mashburn. I'm pretty sure I've seen them in his store. If you can't make it to Atlanta, though, I'd reccomend checking out Band of Outsiders' collaboration with Sperry Top-Sider. They make some very, very similar looking suede penny loafers with a lot of the same elegance and simplicity while at the same time keeping it casual.

  • does anyone feel the jeans are acceptable? whats wrong with pleats?

  • the jeans are definitely acceptable... there's not anything necessarily wrong with pleats, but without pleats it gives off a cleaner look

  • Yeah I like this...agree w him on the trouser-lenght (only his shirt collar isn't too cool -it lifts off a bit). Love the prep- look: khakis or crazy coloured trousers, Alden loafers, BB OCBD-shirts and all that...

  • "Who knew that french could make blue jeans!" ?

You stupid American. Denim was originally made in france!!

  • It's a joke. Do Europeans always have to take everything an American says as an insult? Get some fucking testicles.

  • @NidisListenstoShit I absolutely agree with you, I don't know why Europeans are like that, everything we say is an insult to them.

  • @NidisListenstoShit: Some of europeans don't appreciate American's attitude because they think that americans have easilly forgot History about Europe but the attitude of some european is sometime worst . After all , most of the people living in North America have european's roots so where is the problem ? American and european are the same.

  • @NidisListenstoShit when will this end my friend..... please if you europeans think america has no classs, no taste then lets do something lests top buying all their european fashion.. lets close all the stores and see where those @*@##*@@* can get the money or the interest to consume the amoung of crap we consume sometimes unnecesary!...... Why do some europeans have to take verything as an inslut I dont know part is envy that bassically USA can do watever the hell it wants! and part is just

  • @NidisListenstoShit IGORANCE ... Either way knock it off.... we fucked up in IRAQ we have done terrible things... but yes we wone both WW

we backed the entire european continent when the were ravished by the NAZIS.... we feed all the frenchis and brits and even the russians......and we have been the standard for technology!!!!!!!! and if european fashion houses exist its because the american market and the american in general gave them a market...

  • @less01 Take your meds.

  • @NidisListenstoShit I wasnt telling this to you... I was agreeing with your point.. and No need unlike Americans I dont need to drug myself every time something happens....

  • Denim came from France, but he didn't say "Who knew the French could make denim?" He said, "blue jeans," and blue jeans were invented by a German-American, and were obviously popularized by American culture.

  • @Dslater417 They are not saying the French created denim, they're just saying they make a damn good jean, and if you go out and buy a pair of A.P.C's you'll agree asshole

  • @Dslater417 Denim was actually created in the French city of Nimes and originally carried the name serge de Nimes, shortened to Denim.

  • @traceur1731994 eve if france invented the denim OK you invented everything civilized lets say europe invented everything,.... unfurtunetely because of your class system, discrimination, oligarchi and lack inicitives all your genious ALL of them from MIES VAN DER RHOE to EINSTEIN FLED TO THE US and gave us their knowlede while all of you were killingeachother and then calling us to save your BUM and ten say PARIS LIBERTE! but its all good I LOVE LA FRANCE VIVE LA FRANCE VIVE LES ETAT UNIS!

  • @less01 I see, so America doesn't have a class-system and discrimination? There are plenty of people in the US with inherited wealth and status automatically entering the best schools and workplaces who are considered a class apart. And the whole history of the US until recently, and still now, has been marred by apartheid. As for incentives, Europe has enough to tick along very well. We all have good and bad in our countries, but forget this idea the US is a free man's utopia.

  • @Dslater417 Americans are just ignorant!!! Denim has its roots in France. Denim originates from "de Nîmes", literally "from Nîmes" and was worn by French sailors. Nîmes is a city in France. Get your facts straight!

  • @Dslater417 No need to be rude, man. Now calm down and take a walk, you seem pissed.

  • @Dslater417 yeah, they were made as overalls for farmers right?

  • Does anybody know the name of the song?
