I was 14 the first time i saw them in Chicago & i was amazed among other things.....What a TRIP. Still no concert compares Trip or no trip one of the best bands ever.
i remember sitting in my egg chair with 2 jbl speakers in them, an put on this album. time stopped. if you hit dislike like to this , i cant imagine you like music at all .
My God, the solo sounds so perfect I had to come back to my YouTube tab to see if it was really live. As a guitarist I have nothing but respect for David Gilmour
I would agree with any superlatives attributed to this group and this concert. Pink Floyd stands alone in the music world. They are their own genre, no one can replicate Gilmour's guitar solos, and no one will ever be so set apart from the rest of their contemporaries, by skill as musicians, content and composition of music and out of this world showmanship. It's as if they came down to show us mere mortals what Rock and Roll Heaven sounds like.
I wonder and I mean this with all sincerity if the people sitting in that stadium knew if something very very special was happening in front of their eyes? I am insanely jealous of those that were there and what truly pisses me off is I was only 6 hours away from there back in 94 and didn't think I could get in so I didn't try. I should have went and tried and I am now kicking myself in the ass for not going. This is music that can never be reproduced and Gilmour is conveying the music of GOD
@bradchaffee50 I wasn't at this particular concert, but I saw them in the same tour in Denver on June 18, 1994. It was every bit as awesome as what you see here. They are unbelieveable. And yes, it was a fantastic night and I relished EVERY moment of it knowing how very special it was.
@TheAbbott1000 sweet, I saw that Division Bell tour in Washington DC...this was their finale and it seemed to go on forever, I was in heaven. Thank you, David Gilmour, the most amazing live performance I have ever seen. There will never be another Floyd.
If you are looking for the DVD I suggest you get the "PULSE" set of 2 DVD's . It is GREAT !!! As for the best solo by David Gilmore, I'd have to vote for the "TIME" solo. One of his best !
I absolutely love David Gilmour but Roger Waters is on tour performing The Wall and I am seriously thinking about slapping down a hundred buck to see the show but no Gilmour has me thinking twice. Any suggestions?
@rmf09024 Thanks man. I watched a bunch more video's and kinda felt that way. Gilmour is one of my favorite guitarist/musicians period. I know Roger Waters puts on a great show and I would probably like the show but it just wouldn't be the same.
Seriously considering slapping down 100 bucks to see Roger Waters do The Wall... but no Gilmour is giving me second thoughts. Any Advice is appreciated.
@jeffr765 I understand how you feel putting up that kind of money, but I paid 100 bucks to see The Wall, and I have no regrets. It was one of the best concerts I've ever seen. My advice is to just do it. While it may not have Gilmours amazing guitar work, it was still a very epic show.
thats why I wish I was born in my dads time period instead I'm stuck in my generation of music witch needles to say is shit compared to pink Floyd or the Dead but thank god I have the dad I do he's taken me to see roger waters a couple of times for the wall and was amazing iv also seen the dead twice without jerry and iv seen string cheese incident 30 plus times and I'm glad phish came back on tour seen them about 7 times. this may be my generation I'm in but its not the music I love!
@youbestbequiet This cant be duplicated. Much like the Classical Masters can't be, neither can this. Its safe for us to listen to forever, unchanged without worrying if Lady Gaga or Justin Beiber trys this.
David Gilmour's guitar playing is really all about feeling, emotion and an amazing sense of delicate taste. There are many good guitar players like Hendrix, Clapton Page, Blackmore, Iommi, etc, but only Gilmorur can play a long solo like this one and make it so sweet, interesting, endless and so full of sense and emotion. For my taste, this is probably the greatest solo of all. A master piece.
pink floyd is the shit!!! i love pink floyd and this song makes me cream my panties. i have more of an appreciation for the live version of pink floyd though because they are amazing!!!
I'm pushing 60 years old, went to Woodstock in '69, and have heard all the great guitarists of my generation; with little doubt, THIS particular live rendition is the greatest guitar solo ever recorded; listen, really listen, young ones, and hear what greatness sounds like
@pdln52 like you I am a bit long in the tooth. My Aunt and Uncle were at Woodstock as well and growing up around them I listened to literally everything from the 60's and 70's, to include Pink Floyd. I sent my Uncle this video about a year ago. He wrote me back and said he was in tears and had never heard anything so amazing and I have to agree with him and you. THIS particular rendition is the best ever played. I envision this to be the music we are greeted with at our lifes end.
I was at this show in NY in 1994 and I couldn't move from being so blown away at what I was seeing and hearing.This was more then a concert it was an experience

espetacular este solo q considerado p muitos o mais belo existente ; Numa linha crescente c mais de 5 minutos . Música q fala de desilusão , drogas e na infância . Gilmour is god !
You will never hear a song like this and a guitar solo soo perfect ever again. To all those of the new generation, all i got to say is enjoy cuz this is real music
This version is absolutely amazing. It's better than their original recording. All the voices mixed together make it just so much more haunting and surreal, almost ghostly, and far more creepy. As wonderful as the original was, this version is much better. Pink Floyd should have recorded it like this from the very beginning.
If you like this version, you all should check out the one that David Gimour and Richard Wright did at the Royal Albert Hall from the DVD "Remember That Night." I love this version, but the 2nd solo from Remember That Night' is truly epic.
muito bom , pink floidy parece ser uma coisa surreal , q blz de clássico ;

6:47 A thousand souls, in awe of the bliss around them, screamed out in one magnificent voice, "WE LIVE. WE FEEL. WE ARE ALIVE."
Seriously though this solo brings tears of joy to my eyes. Absolutely phenomenal and unmatched in the annals of history.

This version is absolutely amazing. It's better than their original recording. All the voices mixed together make it just so much more haunting and surreal, almost ghostly, and far more creepy. As wonderful as the original was, this version is much better. Pink Floyd should have recorded it like this from the very beginning.

If you like this version, you all should check out the one that David Gimour and Richard Wright did at the Royal Albert Hall from the DVD "Remember That Night." I love this version, but the 2nd solo from Remember That Night' is truly epic.

muito bom , pink floidy parece ser uma coisa surreal , q blz de clássico ;

Nobody Put Up a Better Concert than Pink Flyd. Saw them at Knebworth in 1975, and it was the best concert I ever went to.

When we wake up to the truth of life, inspired music like this will emerge and flourish again, and all the uninspired crap that people call "music" these days will fade away and be forgotten. Thumbs UP if you agree. Search "Truth Contest" in Google and click the 1st result, then open The Present and read what it says to learn the truth of life.
