  • Alex: I wanna go back I wanna go back

God: Sorry you're dead and you can't

    Alex: :*(

    R.i.p alex

  • how is this song called

  • "I wanna go back."

  • I am wanting to get a conure, and when I do, I am going to name him/her Alex is memory of this beautiful creation of God. When you witness something so incredible as Alex, how is it possible to deny the existence of God? Alex was not just born..he was given as a gift.

  • This is a tribute to a scientific marvel and a good friend to many. Why is it that every global forum I visit all I see are comments full of hate and slander? I truly do not understand it.

R.I.P. Alex your contributions to the scientific community are paramount.

To those that come to forums to argue and insult, mature enough to see your faults.

  • oh, i am crying!!! :'(

is it possible to lose such friend????

  • I like humans better.

  • what happened to alex?

  • @marius1309 he passed away from un-known causes.

  • @sonicbeans I heard it was an undiagnosed heart ailment, coronary artery disease, I think it was... Truly sad.

  • whaaaa.... ;((((( he died it's like world lose a big part (inteligence) cause he was sooooooo smartttt!!!! (for parrot) I missed him very much

  • R.I.P Alex! Love you xxx

  • Beautiful video and ppl who dont realize the bond between animals and ppl dont have a soul

  • Beautiful video

  • rest in peace alex, hope you go to parrot heaven ^^

  • Good job on the video! This video was really sad but Alex you deserve it! We love you!

  • GOOD JOB ON THIS VIDEO! African greys rock and This video is really sad, but he definatley deserves this video! Good job! We love you Alex!

  • Alex was a genious bird. And a genious scientist worked with him.

  • @nico2710 your obviously not a animal owner, losing a pet is just like losing a family member, if you have owned a dog for instance and had it for since it was a puppy and had it for 15 years and then had to have it put to sleep for its own good because of old age or an illness that could never be cured you would be devestated because you will come to think of that animal as a member of your family. so think before you speak.

  • @sonicbeans correction think before you type :)

  • @sonicbeans *sniffle* *sob* ok that happened to me EXACTLY word for word. *sob*

  • @nico2710 Screw you , you f*cking asshole ,just like what sonicbeans said it feels like a freaking family menber!! what if you're mom died huh HUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >[ >[

  • @Bobmarleyisthebest98 Before or after i stopped laughing? Ive had several animals in the past, cats and rabbits. Its not the end of the world when they die for fuck sake. Compering it to human losses is fucking wrong, not similar at all. Ive lost brothers in heroin OD's and NEVER compare human losses to pet losses.

  • @nico2710 Hey nico. One of the hallmarks of being a human being is the capacity for EMPATHY, the ability to feel, on some level, someone else's pain. You seem to be missing that capacity. Frankly, the more cold hearted people I meet, the more my wife and I love our birds, a budgie named Skye and a Quaker parrot named Gif. Who died and left you Pope anyway? How do you get to decide what's 'fucking wrong' or not. Chill out man...

  • @nico2710 @nico2710 Hey nico. Chill out man...BTW, when you post, learn to bleeding spell properly!

  • @nico2710 well you just dont have a heart mate if your kids died would you want to die.. yes is prob your answer so dont act like a nob animals can become part of the family

  • @jasonw6510 Right....

  • @nico2710 theyre is wrong. Not only is it used in the wrong context, but you've omitted the apostrohy. The word you were looking for is 'their', as in 'their bird', denoting ownership. "They're" is a contraction of 'they are', as in 'they are going for a walk.' I've seen better spelling, grammar and punctuation from 3rd graders. I'm surprised you can type without drooling all over the keyboard and shorting the thing out. Go back to school rude boy.

  • @budgienation Ever thought about how some of us arent born in the US(and)A? I may not speak perfect English but i do speak fluent Spanish, Norwegian and some Thai... Do you speak Thai? Its easy to forget proper English when your living in a country where hardly anyone speaks English.

  • @nico2710 Well, excuse me then. If I were in a foreign country I'd be the guy with the translated phrase book, probably murdering the language with regard to pronounciation and accent. Point taken. Fluent Spanish, Norwegian and some Thai? Along with English? Your business must take you around the globe a bit then. So, taking into accout the opinions expressed in your previous posts, I can only surmise that you're cold and devoid of empathy in four languages. Far out...

  • @budgienation Nah more like im 50% spanish and 50% norwegian and living in Thailand for the moment. "I can only surmise that you're cold and devoid of empathy in four languages." Thanks for stating the obvious

  • @budgienation

everytime you coment on some ones spelling or use of a word on youtube or another website with a global comunity you come across as a closed minded inbred sheltered little idiot to most of the world that understand more people speak 1 or more form on chinese and spanish then speak english as a 1st or 2nd langage.

no insult to you intended just saying so you know.

  • @Demonairing Thanks for the reminder. "Inbred sheltered little idiot", huh? You know what I've noticed? When you and guys like nico are insulting people, your english is perfect. Spelling, grammar, right on the money. It's only when you stop insulting people that your grammar, syntax and spelling go straight into the proverbial 'dumper'. No insult intended likewise, just saying so you know.

  • @nico2710 go die in hole cuz obviously u dont have a family that loves u so it would make everything better if u go crawl in a hole and die

  • @nico2710 learn how to spell you fucking idiot

  • @nico2710 Listen, I know what it's like to lose a friend. A best friend that I thought was going to always be there for me. I thought we would stay together forever, but we didn't. He was young, a four year old pitbull that had cancer. OBVIOUSLY, you have NEVER had a friend leave your life forever. There are no last good-byes, no last "I love you," and no last apologies, especially if you aren't in the room with them when they die. You might not care now, but trust me, you will. That is fact.

  • parrots bond in the wild with one other parrot if you confuse it by letting it think you are its mate it can only confuse it when you leave it at night it streses it out and its lack of feathers is probably stress in the wild it would not be put through all this sorry i love parrots but i think they belong in the wild

  • Alex,please meet Carla.:)

  • Alex is a hero in the entire avian community.

  • r.i.p

  • I'm crying ;'(

  • we will miss you Alex and now your free you can fly anywhere you want you don't have to do all the reaserch making you do.

  • Alex and I were born the same year. How cute. I have to tell the person who blames his captivity on his 31-year life span that birds THRIVE on human interaction. They develop attachments and the best thing one can do for a parrot is to interact with them. He got so much interaction with humans and he was a very lucky bird, trust me. Birds are intelligent enough to know when they are loved and he definitely knew it. Now circus animals like elphants, tigers, etc. - THEY are not the same as parrots

  • Animal friendship is great. Humans that have the ability to show compassion for animals are less animal themselves.

  • :'(

  • poor bird... he had a soul...

  • R.I.P ALEX :(

  • Peopl have got to stop using animals for their own entertainment, I wonder how long Alex would have lived if he wasn't forced to do those chores! Poor little bird those people should be ashamed!

  • @MarilynFilth May be we can learn from Alex to stop using this creatures for our entertainment, we are wrong to keep them as pets, It's very sad to take them out of their environment were they rightfully belong.

  • @djmz1969 You're right, but a lot of people still don't care. Most people still wear furs and use products tested on animals, go to circus's with elephants and lions being used.

People make me really angry sometimes.

  • @MarilynFilth What I meant is that, it was obvious Alex had "awareness" of being self. I read the experiment and in it Alex asked one time What color he was. He was told gray four times. After that, when he was asked what color are you Alex, he answered correctly, "gray." That's enough to tell us we are not the only ones with awareness. We are not alone on hearth, we haven't been all along and we've missed it.

  • @djmz1969 Yes, It makes me very sad taht although Alex gave us more information that we are not the only creatures with souls in this planet the bottom line is we used him. He should have never been in that lab. Well his soul rest in peace. :(

  • @djmz1969 yes true, but it's not wrong if they are bred in human environment, because if they are born with humen, they will live with us, and they won't survive out there if you let them free because they won't be ableto find and gather food, unlike the easy job in the cage or aviary.

But out of the wild yes, I agree, it's totally wrong. I feel sorry for alex.

I own 2 little parrotlets which I saved from the shop. Now, they live in a spacious cage together unlike in the pet shop. They are happy

  • @MarilynFilth I hear your point, but I stil think that just having them because we like them (of course they are just beautiful creatures), carries consequences, like their dissapearance from the jungles. I'm from Central America and me as a child had many Yellow Napped Amazon as pets, I loved them, well guess what? They are almost extinct in my country, and even though the name is Amazon they originaries of my country so it means they are almost gone from the wild. Sad.

  • @MarilynFilth Forced??? What are you talking about?! You, obliously, never had a parrot. Alex was not forced but he participated by own free will. He had tons of interaction with people and was out of his cage all the time. Getting attention, being spoken to, mentally stimulated and being touched all the time. He was having a ball I can assure you!

Btw. Parrots in the wild have a way shorter lifespan than one in captivity.

  • @gittejacobsen1 I have had many birds thank you, none of my birds had to preform a task, I talked to them loved them and let them have full range of the house. Normal parrots in captivity live to 60 years (that breed) so yes, the fact she made him preform like some circus freak caused his death. My sister who had the same African grey lived to 63, his life was stressed; she caused it! Thanks but I think as a breeder I know a little more. Wanker

  • @MarilynFilth Being the great animal lover you are Marlyn...perhaps you should stop breeding so people would be forced to adopt should they want a bird and hopefully one day we will not keep birds or other wild animals caged anymore...run of the house or not.

    Wanker self

  • @gittejacobsen1 I don't breed, I leave that to the Christians and white trash. :)

  • To gittejacosen1.. Yes I agree. My neighbors had a parrot and when they would leave on vacaction he would throw a tantrum. He loved, and thrived on all sorts of interaction... the more the better. And trust me.. if he didn't WANT to do something he didn't do it. He'd turn his back and ignore you. I would say that Alex was a very lucky bird all in all. He also helped raise the awareness of many people about animals in general. God Bless you Alex... free to FLY : )

  • @gittejacobsen1

You could see Alex wasn't healthy, his feathers were falling out. Parrots like attention, but they are not puppets, DR. PEPPERBERG is a cruel bitch and needs shooting.

  • @BENJIMANBREEG33 Holy fuck you idiot. Ignorance at its best. You don't even KNOW why feathers fall. They do that constantly, mine did that when he entered "adolescence" and his collar around his neck appeared too. There are far more many causes than "stress".

  • @PlaguedMan adolescence? The parrot was 30 years old!. And the woman bought the parrot, to be an experiment. Who's ignorant now? You thick cunt.

  • @BENJIMANBREEG33 That was an example of MY parrot you idiot.

  • snodude ...i wan u tu suck ma dick ...and the birds also ;) peace

  • i am sorry i dread the day mine passes hope im not here to see it rest in peace sweetie

  • I had a beutiful parrot for more than 13 years. She was older than me and then she got really sick. one day she got better, the next day she died in my arms. That was 4 years ago. I still miss her and cry.

  • whats the song name?

  • learn to fly by A1

  • i will miss alex...

  • i want to die... my conure passed yesterday and he was only 5 and he was supposed to be alive for 30 years +. i miss him so bad. im balling my eyes out rite now. my father fell asleep with him on the couch and rolled over on him. my sweet sweet paco. he was my best friend and my son. can anyone please, please give me advice for comfort? how did u deal with it? im devastated

  • .. don't give up hope...;)

  • thank you i wont

  • that's good news :)

  • remember him as he would of been as long as you keep his memory alive in your heart he will be alive when ever you think of him and how much happiness he brought you willhelp you heal.

  • @sonicbeans That didn't help for me for my parakeet who passed on,Carla, the beloved memory. It isn't the same with the new parakeet,Alice, anymore.:(

  • @D2N00 i know it hurts and is sad and iknow you loved carla but just give alice a chance ok it just might of been a little to soon to get alice thats all. alice wil never replace carla but you will end up loving alice just the same. trust me where theres love for one there is love for another. carla will always be with you even when you are not thinking about her she's there keeping you safe.

  • @sonicbeans Also,I will always remember Carla in my heart. But the happiness part of her, made me cry more.

  • bananatree94, how are you doing? This is very hard what has happened to you--BUT,,,,,there are so many animals/birds alive that need love---please reach out again and know from the start that none of us onlyhave the number of days that God allows....we must accept it and move on. Give all that love you have to another dear animal. Bless you and heal quickly! Then get right back out there again with your love! :)

  • thank you so much im much better now. i still miss him but your rite there are many animals who need love.

  • @bananatree94

I had the same thing happen to my conure, unfortunately I fell asleep and rolled over on my Madison. That was over 6 years ago and I know exactly how you felt. Now that it has been 11 months I hope you are doing better, and like someone else said just remember the good times you had with Paco.

  • @AugustBurnsRed23 thank you for your response and concern, yes i am better and i do miss him still, but i do remember the good times we had. i just recently got a little australian grass parakeet but he is not tame, i just got him because i love birds and enjoy watching him and listening to his singing. its not the same and i dont intend it to be as AGP's arent companion birds but it is a step. cheers.

  • @bananatree94 Since you posted the above 1 year ago, I would hope you've gotten help by now, but if you haven't, google grief therapy, pet death. You'll find an abundance of help. My deepest sympathy regarding Paco. I've lost birds before and it really rips a hole in your heart. They are true friends and in a world of selfish, lying coniving humanity they stand out as honest, steadfast and true. Like the saying goes, "The more people I meet, the more I love my parrot."

  • wow alex looks alot like my african grey

  • It's all about the bird...the smart-alec (x) who knew how to call the shots! He was awesome and I hope we learned from him. Thanks Irene, for everything!

  • Isn't it amazing how much one tiny little voice can be missed.

  • Sometimes it's even the smallest voices that speaks the loudest <3

    R.I.P. Alex <3

  • If there is a heavan, the good news is that Alex shall be there, along with a reincarnation of Jesus as a bird.

No really, I do miss Alex. He has a successor, though: Griffon was the 2nd of Pepperberg's parrots, and she has selected him to carry on.

Even so, we shall miss Alex dearly. This brings tears to my eyes.

  • There is heaven =)

  • its so sad! great job making this vid!

  • whats the name of the song???

  • learn to fly by A1

  • you know its the self centered foraign FAGS like you who slander and insult america and other countries because you think you're sooo much better than everybody else even though you dont know jack shit about anyone or anything that make this world such a bad place to live.burn in hell you self centered inbred foraign piece of shit.

  • who the hell was that aimed at?

  • uhh get a fucking life and STFU yourself.if you dont have anything nice to say, then STFU. go wrap ur lips around your boyfriends cock, that should keep you quiet for awhile you little faggot.

Forget english-Put your mouth to use with something it KNOWS how to do - pleasing boys LOL (sorry gay populace, no offense, luv ya'll)

  • Not only your grammar, but, your syntax, spelling and sentence construction, as well. Your not American? What a suprise! That would explain your "less-than- stellar" ability to communicate properly.

Son, Trust me. Alex was very special to a lot of us, and yourtyrades only show the civilized world how immature and stupid you are. We don't need, or want you here.

    Go home, little one.

  • Hey, Timmy-toes!

Reading your comments complete with incorrect spelling and usage of the english language, you apparently dropped out of school in the middle of the what...third, or forth grade?

Perhaps it would be better if you got back to breast-feeding with your mommy, and allow the adults to continue with a forum that you're not invited to.

Unlike you, Alex meant quite a bit to a lot of people all over the world.

  • this is so sad oh and nice song for the vid.

  • this tribute made me cry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:(

  • Thanks for this beautiful tribute to Alex.

  • Im scared of the day my african grey dies, xx

  • R.I.P. Alex

There are other parrots that can do anything that Alex could do however

Thankfully there is an African Grey in New York, N´kisi that is even more intelligent.

  • Well done, sonic! Thank you for the beautiful tribute.

    Chris
