Alex and I were born the same year. How cute. I have to tell the person who blames his captivity on his 31-year life span that birds THRIVE on human interaction. They develop attachments and the best thing one can do for a parrot is to interact with them. He got so much interaction with humans and he was a very lucky bird, trust me. Birds are intelligent enough to know when they are loved and he definitely knew it. Now circus animals like elphants, tigers, etc. - THEY are not the same as parrots

I'm from Central America and me as a child had many Yellow Napped Amazon as pets, I loved them, well guess what? @gittejacobsen1 I have had many birds thank you, none of my birds had to preform a task, I talked to them loved them and let them have full range of the house. Normal parrots in captivity live to 60 years (that breed) so yes, the fact she made him preform like some circus freak caused his death. My sister who had the same African grey lived to 63, his life was stressed; she caused it! Thanks but I think as a breeder I know a little more. Wanker
