  • It's as if he's never thought about what the unconscious actually is, in completely disconnected from it himself, merely accepting it as a theoretical given with society-shaping implications ONLY because society believes it to exist. He doesn't realize at all that the unconscious is unconscious PRECISELY because of his conditioning, and that he is approaching society and reality from a conditioned perspective -NOT using the fulness of his humanity & not even realizing it.

  • ...that form the basis of his identity & his thought, that admittedly is capable of impressive sequences of conceptualizations that are very interesting. I liked the sequence about Kant opening the way for an anthropological pardigm that became incarnate in psychology which in turn destroyed filosophy & modified the human sciences but would have thought the topic deserved further elaboration. His shallow approach to the unconscious & psycho-analysis are predictably disappointing.

  • In other words, Foucault completely ignores that the 'ego' is a structure adapted to society, a conditioned structure, and that it is basically sitting on the unconscious, which is INHERENTLY alien to society, as well as to the ego analyzing it. The reason he's ignoring this blatant observer/observed problem is the same reason he's refusing to expose what a complete amoral fraud Freud was: he has INVESTMENTS in upholding his Freudian/marxist heritage, can't destroy these immoral institutions..

  • casi inentendible
