  • Bout damn time the C.G. got NEW instead of Squid hand me down equipment. I severed 76-80 as AD3 and back then we were the handmedown service half the time. IT WAS U.S. Coast Guard Coxswains who handled a vast majority of landing craft in WWII in both theaters. The first Helo rescue in history was a Coast Guard rescue.

  • I was a coxswain at SAR station Indian River Inlet, Delaware. We had 17 and 22 ft. Boston Whalers, a 20' Penn Yann, a 30 ft. utility boat, a 41' utility boat and a 44' motor life boat. This is one hell of a combination of all of those vessels and has all the comforts I used to wish for when we were at sea. Way to go USCG. Semper Paratus.
